New Games, Lin's, Sleepy Happy Hour

On Friday, Mar. 21st we noticed that it was warm again upon wakening. Perfect. It was a warm night sleeping but we had windows open to keep us comfortable. 😊 We had another morning of outdoor games so after taking Gibbs for his walk, Bill, Ken and I walked over behind the Shuffleboard courts to play Y Board & Frustration. Yes, that is what the games are called.

Good morning!

First off, was what is more commonly known as 'bean bag toss' and after 4 or 5 games of that, we played what is more commonly known as 'washer toss'.  Maybe the alternate names draw attention and interest. The three of us didn't do great but we didn't necessarily do terribly either. First time in this setting, that is our excuse for not coming out the victor! It was just before 11 when we walked back to our sites.

We had time to relax before lunch so I made my b.p. coffee and pulled out my cross stitch. Oh brother, it was then I realized that I'd goofed it up big time and took the time to tear some of it out. I knew it didn't look right from the beginning but had actually forgotten where my starting point should be on each 'cross'. Grrr! Idiot!

We didn't eat lunch here at home at noon, but instead at 1pm rode into Yuma with Ken and Kim for lunch at Lin's Chinese Buffet.

This was more food than I've eaten
probably in a decade!! Well, at least since the last time
I was at Lin's! 😂😂 To justify, it was mostly meat.

For a very reasonable cost, we filled our tummies with a large variety of foods from the buffet. I know even though I tried to be careful in what I put on my plate, it was still overkill and it made all of us sleepy when we gathered an hour later for Happy Hour. We were in the shade, that was necessary from the heat of the 87F/31C day. We only lasted until 5:30 before we parted ways. 😊

We didn't need to make supper but figured there might be some snacking later on.......just not too much later. I stretched out on the sofa with my book, oh I'm reading Jojo Moyes' The Giver of Stars. It's good and I'm only 3 chapters in. Bill went upstairs to watch tv and since I was waiting for NCIS:Sydney at 9, I worked on my blog downstairs.

This has been a good day here in the park with our friends. We know it will only get hotter over the next few days so there will be some pool time to make up for.

The sky put on a bit of a performance tonight.
At least, this was all I caught of it.

We were happy to get some new pictures from Donna from the Ridge as it gives us much hope in case we return home earlier than originally planned. I knew those warm days back home would have some effect!
