Repeat, Repeat, Repeat

The Ridge

On Friday, May 23rd we woke up to the exact same kind of day as we did yesterday. No surprise, though, we were warned that we would repeat this forecast again and again. Lots of precipitation is good for those crops, plants and trees we’ve all put in the ground. Well, mine are still in their small pots in the She-shed. It needs to dry up and warm up.

Good morning!

Bill was off to work as per his usual time and Gibbs and I stayed in bed until 7:15. My only commitment today was at 10 am. So, I made my tea, had some yogourt and sat to play my online games. I needed to buy a couple of things before I delve into more quilling so then got into my book. This 6:20 Man is so good; I hate to put it down!

We're getting used to these dull
mornings.

At 9:55, I drove around the corner to pick M up and take him into town for 5 stops today. While he was in the hardware store, I popped into Dave’s $ store, which was next door, and bought a small bottle of white glue. It isn’t the Elmer’s brand so I hope it works just as well. If not, it wasn’t expensive. 😊

That was my errand for the day so Gibbs and I holed up in the Suite again. I had my coffee and tempted fate with yet another keto recipe. I’ll never learn, it seems, but this one was successful. Not perfect in its preparation but one I can learn from. It is a wrap for wieners, instead of buns. I enjoyed them for lunch, not show-stoppers but pretty good.

So, keto hot dog buns.
It wasn't an easy process because
I tried to 'halve' the recipe.
They were pretty good though and
I have dough left plus 2 more to reheat.

Then, I read and read and read until about 3:30 when we stepped outside long enough for me to get the water bottle and for Gibbs to do his business. We refill the cubed dispenser in the fridge and that emptied a bottle to take next time I’m in town.

Would have been nice to have my name
on here but I'm happy for Doug.

Bill came up the lane, surprising Gibbs, around 3:40 and started his weekend a bit early. 😊 At 5:30, after his snooze, we got cleaned up and went to the curling club. Another Catch the Ace draw before we returned for supper. Well, it had to happen and it wasn’t our night.

A local man, known to many members, picked the right # and found the Ace of spades. He walked away with $14,275! We are very happy for him but at the same time, disappointed the jackpot is gone. No Catch the Ace for about a month now before they start up again.

The sun tried to peep through
before night closed in.

At home, we had mushroom soup, cheese & crackers and ice cream. I had half a banana to eat up and it went quite nicely with my dessert.

Mushroom soup

Bill loaded the dishwasher and we prepared to have a quiet evening. Although cool and wet, we’re getting used to it, it was a good day and the weekend is about to begin! We reached a high of 7C/45F and that was it. A warm up soon? One can only hope.

Banana split for me.
Yum!
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

  1. Aww that’s to bad that the Ace was picked. I know the feeling from our winter Chase The Ace draws. You are happy for the winner but oh so sad that it wasn’t you 😊

  2. Wow ... that's a big pot to win. Lucky Doug!! Very nice of you to shuttle M around. I bought low carb 6" tortillas for hot dog buns. They work really great ... and you can air fry them if you want!!
