The Ridge
On Monday, June 23rd we were up with the birds, as usual. The sky was blue at 6:30 and not a cloud was likely to appear today. The overnight temperatures were cooler than yesterday was BUT with no breeze coming in the windows, we should have left the a/c on a bit.

Good morning!
Today's first picture......
two people are in the rumble seat.
That's a cool ride!
I slept well, but Bill didn't as much. Get this, it was 23C/73F last night, today is 34C/92F and tonight will be about the same. BUT, tomorrow's high is 27C/81F and tomorrow night is 15C/59F. How does any of that make sense? Nothing to be done though, but to enjoy what comes our way.
Bill took Ptooties today as they will be driving to Listowel for a few weeks, about an hour from home. Black Beauty and I will get along just fine. 😊😉 I was at the Mat by 7:15 and since I was alone, I emptied the L & F box, washing and drying everything.
After leaving, I completely forgot to stop for Bill's bread and instead stopped at Rethreads and dropped off the 2 bags of clothes...and the comforter. LOL When I returned home, I remembered the bread, woops! I'll text Bill to pick some up if he can. (He did)
I thought he would be working inside today and so did he, but I was more concerned when he messaged that they were tearing down and building a deck. Word of mouth, it was their neighbours who got that beautiful 2 (3?) level one last summer.😊

This is the bottom tray
and it perfectly holds all my paper strips.
3mm, 5mm, 7mm & 10mm
plus earring materials and even googly eyes!
I knew I had one quilling project to finish, that I started yesterday afternoon. But first, Bill had offered me one of his 2-piece Stanley storage containers for my supplies. Yay!!! I am thrilled since I've been gathering quite a bag full.

In the top, bigger section, I have
my finished projects, wood pieces,
all my quilling tools, empty plastic bags
for storing and my quilling book,
I'm a bit of a happy camper now!
Thanks Sweetie!
So, I emptied the bag (Cyndy from Park Place made it and I bought it from Lynn after she passed) and managed to find a home for most everything. Even my finished and future project pieces fit in one section. So organized! (for now). 💕
I finished what I was working on and put it all away. By then, it was 3:30 (lunch was in there somewhere, at which I had a tortilla wrap and some veggies) and I sat with Gibbs in the chair whilst I played my online games. I've been neglecting them over the last couple of days.
I wanted to get outside for a wee bit so walked down for the mail. Gibbs stopped halfway, in the shade with a goose feather, and was still there on my return trip. Shade to shade to shade etc. 😂 I don't blame him!

I know it was hot out so I don't blame him
for not going all the way down with me.
but where is he?
I, however, hobbled the whole way back. I've been talking to my oldest sister about some exercises for her to try for her new bout of sciatica. She is having hip surgery early July so can't do most of what I do, 😔

Gibbs is in every one of these pictures
Good luck finding him!
I've also mentioned to Bill how I have been feeling great for a few weeks. My foot and lower leg was completely numb by the time I got back up the hill and swore that I would never discuss my 'ease' (for lack of a better word) again! It really could be the humidity, so we'll see when it improves.

It was all very good. I'm proud of my chard, well, of me for growing it!
Bill arrived just as I was approaching the corral hill and Gibbs ran to meet him. He was a bad boy though, as for the first time this year, he ran in front of the car. He has been so good......darn! At least, Bill and most arrivees are prepared for him.

Dessert. Oh my. Chapmans is always the way to go!
Supper was fish, fries (for Bill) and a veggie for me. I picked some of my Swiss Chard, it looks great! Our fish was cod filets, thicker than normal so they took a bit longer in the fry pan than usual. Supper was very good and my chard? Awesome!
After clean up, Bill made his lunch and then decided to stay up here tonight. Bank statements are in so he reconciled them before settling in to watch tv. His Hangar is now called the 'sweat box'. The breeze is nice but also hot.

This is NOT Gibbs but a cockapoo I watch video clips of. Luna is bigger but they are so much alike - even their antics. 💘
Welcome to summer! We his has been a good day and we are blessed and grateful to be where we are, feeling the way we are and with our most important things within easy reach.

Yes, I know. I get carried away! Good night! Stay appropriately cool!
Thank you for your visit today.

We heat up, you cool off. Your tool box is a great idea. I use fishing tackle boxes! Sounds like Mr. Gibbs just couldn't contain himself. He wanted to see his DAD!
ReplyDeleteI see Gibbs by the fence then on the steps waiting for you! Very fancy with the "new" box for quilling supplies-very organized now! Nice and green at your place ~ thanks for pictures!
ReplyDeleteWonderful way to organize your supplies. Love the way you incorporated the flags on the gift.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
