The Ridge
On Tuesday, June 2nd I was up by 6:30 (ish) and was able to say goodbye to Bill before he left. I got washed and dressed (good start, eh?) made my tea, had some yogourt and headed out the door at 7. One customer had their laundry in a machine and Trudy came in within 10 minutes.

Good morning!
This was last night's smoky sun.
This morning, on my way to Durham,
it was just a pink.
We hit it off pretty good upon our second meeting last week and now it is just a very friendly conversation for the time we're there. 😀 She was the first to indicate that she might be interested in winter cleaning if the offer was open by Sandy. We'll see how it plays out, all I can do is hope he is still the owner when I leave AND when I return. Doubt it, though. When I left the Mat, I stopped at the bank and deposited my pay from Sandy.

Time for a cut, right?
We go through quite the antics while
I try and take care of business.
Look at those devilish eyes! 😍
Back home, Gibbs and I went out to water my vegetables and new flowers. I also found suitable locations to hang them and now have decided I need a couple more. LOL I'm happy with my choices but would have loved a geranium or two in bright red. The offerings at Canadian Tire did not look healthy or cared for.

| I don't need matchy matchy, as they are usually so far apart. I just want pretty and colourful. Speaking of which, see Mr. Oriole on the orange feeder> |
Gibbs sat inside and I brushed him in preparation for his appointment. There are a few knots in his hair, lower belly, and we managed (in fits and snarls) to get most of them out. 😉 We left at 10:45 arriving in town early enough to walk and piddle before we entered Bath and Biscuit. He must remember what goes on here and never hesitates to go see Kate. That's a good sign!

It gave me the opportunity to get the grass
cut while waiting for him to be done.
When I got back to the Ridge, I got my mower out and cut the areas that Bill couldn't easily get to on the rider. I sure love the look up here when it is all neatly manicured. Well, as neat as we can get it without killing ourselves! I could hear Dot on her rider next door so she was taking care of their property too.

And here he is,
the star of the day.
Boy, not only does he look good,
he smells wonderful!
I was in quite a bit of pain again this morning so wasn't moving too quickly without a silent grumble and the occasional 'ouch' when I moved wrong. However, I have discovered that if I push through it all, and do what needs to be done, that it actually helps. My alarm went off at 12:45 to return to town and get our little guy so off I went. It is strange without him here. 😒

Lunch time!
The sauerkraut was delish!
He was ready and just as handsome as ever. I don't have a clue how she does such a good job on him but we gratefully hand over the fee for his groom. Plus, it is a 2 hour spa time for him. 💗 He whined most of the way into town but coming home he didn't make a sound until we pulled in the lane. What a little goof.

He ran around like a little fool and rolled in the
grass a few times.
Then we rested in my chair.
Feels like I've been waiting to do this
forever!
It was 1:30 so I made myself a cold plate for lunch and it was quite filling. Bill thought he would be late today, trying to finish a job, so supper would be late too. Gibbs and I went outside and sat in my gravity recliner and enjoyed the sunshine. No flies!! Wow! I did wipe some apple cider vinegar/sea salt blend on my face, neck and arms earlier so maybe that worked better than I thought.
Gibbs was still hot and wanted to be inside so I stretched out and probably dozed out there. It felt wonderful! The heat has arrived. It is actually a perfect day with a forecast high of 27C/81F even though the humidex makes it hotter than that. It is quite windy so the breeze is welcome anytime we rise above 25C/75F. I was expecting a parcel so Gibbs and I walked down the lane and it was in the mailbox. 😀

I don't usually put Gibbs on the leash
to go get mail but I didn't know when
the delivery would come.
Plus, didn't know it would fit in the mailbox.
I took him off on the way back
and did he ever go!
Bill was home earlier than expected, as there were snags preventing them from finishing the job after all. There's always tomorrow. I had only planned toasted bacon and tomato sandwiches for supper and he was quite fine with that. He dozed, so did Gibbs, and we ate at 6. We didn't have the bacon since there was none thawed and we were impatient. They tasted just fine without.
I worked on my blog, Bill made his lunch and Gibbs went up to bed. Whether he's humping the pillows as a new 'man', who knows? It's a ritual that we don't question. 😂 This has been a really nice day. I got the lawn cut, plants watered and hung and Gibbs has been taken care of too. Now that the nice weather is arriving, he'll feel much better and so will we.
Simple but filling supper.
Bill has two sandwiches in case
you're wondering if he gets enough to eat!
We had strawberries for dessert.

I needed one more picture so this is
June 3, 2022 and it looks like he
just got cut here too!
He was sleeping just like this tonight. 💞
Good night!
Thank you for your visit!

Gibbs is the MAN!! I always thought they rolled in the grass after a cut to get RID of the nice smell! LOL. He's a handsome boy!!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed! Maybe but he does it without the smell. I thought it was to scratch their back. 😂
DeleteGibbs looks terrific! I'm betting he's happy with his "cool" look too. :)
ReplyDeleteI think he has to!!
DeleteGibbs is too cute after his hair cut! Had surgery on Mon. spent the night ~ moving slow here also! Great pic of cows!! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you, hope you recover quickly!
DeleteGibbs looks very handsome. I bet he appreciates the cooler look come the very warm weather. I waited to see what hanging baskets you got from Canadian Tire. Now I will tell you that here in my small city in southeastern Saskatchewan those same hanging baskets at Canadian Tire cost us $24.99. Just shows the difference in prices across our country, heck I expect that in Regina the prices are lower.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you, he thinks so too! :)
DeleteOh my goodness, I will consider myself fortunate then. Foodland has them for $17.99 here in town so I went to C.T. for the better price.
