Climb Every Mountain, Ain't No Mountain High Enough..........etc.

Park Place RV Park

Happy New Year! Time to teach your hand to print   2 - 0 - 2 - 6. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was learning to write 2025! The year flew by, not all great things but those were 'could be worse' things that we dealt with. May 2026 be good to everyone!

Good morning!
It's going to be a great day!

Gibbs says Happy New Year too!

I slept in until 7:30 and when Bill was out of the shower, I got in. Start the year off clean, right? Bill left for the field and I took Gibbs around the park for his walk. I was testing the weather, 50F/9C, to see what I would require for my adventure this morning.

Jan. 28, 2017
Bill and I climbed the Q Mountain
with our new (at the time) friends,
Gerry and Melinda

Almost 9 years later,
she waits for me to do it again.

Today, with 2 of us in
our 70's, one in her 60's,
I am doing it again!
Let's go!

Bette, Anne-Marie and myself were climbing the popular Q Mountain at 10 am. It was partly sunny in a cloud-filled sky but no wind down here on level ground. I wore a long sleeve undershirt, a hoody and my windbreaker, jeans and my new earth shoes. I fried an egg for a good breakfast and just took water.

I think his name is Craig,
created some cool pictures with
his Paraglider.

Part way up

We were the first to arrive and the first to start the 200' climb. It was great! The last time I did it was with Bill, and Gerry and Melinda Hicks on Jan. 28, 2017. I wondered if my 9 year older body would do it as well. It took us 15 minutes to get to the top and I took 10 minutes to get down. Yay!

The views all around were awesome.

200' up may not sound like much,
but up the winding rocky terrain,
it is a challenge.

There were only about 20 or 25 that climbed while we were there and we were back home by 11:30. I hope to repeat the process next year! Bill and I had lunch and then I scanned through the shared pictures the ladies and I took.

I left this rock at the base of the flag.
Our 'we were here' marker.

I left a rock at the base of the flag and bell (that you ring), proof of our reaching the summit. We had sunny breaks off and on but it was actually a perfect weather day for this. We reached a low high of only 59F/14C.

We all rang the bell.
This is Anne-Marie's first time to
the southwest from New York.
She was having a ball.

Such a hoot!

I made a coffee and worked on the puzzle for a while. Tomorrow will be dis-robe day for the tree and Suite but for this afternoon, a slow pace. I felt NO discomfort at all since getting up so I'm just thrilled about that. I pray that tomorrow brings nothing different. 🙏

Going down was harder,
but I was down in 10 minutes.

Some wonder how and why accidents
happen. Like, come on!!

I loved the sites from up here.
Our vehicles are in the top left.

I worked on the puzzle until about 3:30 and returned home to my boys. Bill had taken Gibbs for his walk before the spatters of rain so I didn't have to. 💕 I fiddled with the birdhouses, not sure I'm pleased with the results but it is a time passer.

I love the bottom left corner picture.
That is Palm Canyon off in the distance
but it looks like a large marshmallow
from the way the sun is hitting it.

Bill left at 5 for the flying field. Night flying for him so I'm glad the rain has moved on. I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich (w/onion slices) and took my bottle of wine and 2 packets of popcorn over to the clubhouse. Bette, Anne-Marie, Sue, Stephanie and myself had a game night! Finally, it worked!

This afternoon, a bit of crafting.

We played Rumnicub (how ever you spell it) until 8:15 and consumed some wine and lots of laughs. It was a great evening.

I walked over at 6 under this
sky. A peek at the moon.

Sometimes, you have no idea how
a picture will turn out.
This is cute!

When I came back, Bill and Gibbs were watching rerun episodes of Reacher, which I'd left on when I left. So, we watched 2 more together and I went to bed.

A spooky picture worthy moon.
Good night!

It was a great day! Thank you for your visit!
