March Living up to It's Reputation

Park Place RV Park

On Friday, Mar. 6th I woke from another dream-filled sleep. My oh my, I was deep into something! The number of visitors I have seen in my dreams over the last week is incredible! Some, highly unlikely 'suspects', others are regulars. All good. 💞

Good morning!

I enjoy each visit and woke with a little snuggle bum tucked in behind my upper back and Bill's. I think he might have felt the chill in his lighter coat and stayed put, right there, all (or most of) the night. I love that they know how to find warmth, like we do, when they need it.

Bill was bustling more than yesterday because the winds were calm first thing. He headed out for the field before 8 but had to make a quick return for the full coffee cup left sitting on the counter. Woops! His hands and arms are usually full with batteries, chargers and/or other plane stuff. That's the excuse he's sticking to!

These ladies are looking forward to
today's adventure.

I wasn't dressed for the day but slipped out (in slippers, literally) to get a picture of the 4 ladies going to Oatman today. Such a wonderful bunch of ladies - they'll have an awesome day, no doubts. Renae (with Steph's help) got her van all spiffy last night after game night so it was ready too.

Back inside, I had a few Betty Crocker type things to take care of. I'd decided on lasagna for supper, homemade rolls and apple pie. I had bought rolled pie crusts and they need to be used, as do the bags of frozen Ridge apples in the freezer.

Walking with Gibbs around the
corner

We were expecting Ken and Kim for at least one more Happy Hour before they leave the area so decided to invite them to stay for dinner. There would be enough to share and it is too windy to use the Weber Q for grilling anything outside. It's a date!

Between prepping food, I had a blog to finish fron yesterday and I was on the phone with Amazon over missing parts to my paper quilling tool. It was a bit of a roller coaster in here. Before lunch, the pie was made and the rolls were rising unlike a 'bad moon' CCR reference for ya) and my replacement crimper was on its way.  😊

I tried to get a picture of our
fuel prices since they skyrocketed,
but it doesn't show up.
The sign SHOULD be ashamed!
In a week, diesel went from $3.55 to $4.69

I started the lasagna and Bill nipped up to the DG Market for some cottage cheese. Woops! I forgot to pick up that ingredient. I never used it in my former days of making the dish and it was always very runny. I'm now using my sister Donna's recipe and it does the trick!

Our company arrived around 3, just as Bill went to Ironwood Outpost to pick up our parcel from Amazon. More quilling paper and Mod Podge for me and a couple of items for him. Ken and Kim came inside, the wind outside and shade on our patio made indoors a much better choice.

What I'd pictured and planned as a really nice meal didn't quite turn out that way in the beginning. Yes, eventually it all turned out pretty well but I did have a bit of a stressful time with the meal. Using our convection oven that much perhaps was the problem.

Our guests were kind, I would expect nothing less of these two, but when the lasagna didn't cook, the pie crust was a disappointment and the buns were only half done, you can't help but beat yourself up. Thankfully, clubhouse oven to the rescue and finally, by 6 we were eating supper.

The lasagna turned out great,
I admit, and the rolls
pretty good too. LOL

We had a good old chat from beginning to end of the visit and it was around 7 when they said goodnight. Not too dark yet to find their way home - I hope. I was grateful to receive a later message that they did in fact make it home safely and enjoyed their visit as much as we did. 😍

Gibbs vying for attention
since he knew we were done
eating.

This was a great day again. After we cleaned up the dishes, I worked on my blog and Bill went up to watch tv with Gibbs. I watched an episode of Cross and relaxed until bedtime, with a repeat of a movie, around 10.

We reached 72F/20C at peak this afternoon and another cool night of 49F/8C ahead.

I didn't see the sunset so stole
one from a previous night.
Good night!

Thank you for coming by.
