An Oopsie! Baking in the Clubhouse, Irish Feast!

Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Mar. 15th we were up by 7 and had clothes sorted into 2 piles for the wash. Well, for the first time, someone beat us to the punch and all 3 washers were taken. Rats! So, we left the basket and I went back and forth waiting for her to finish.

Good morning!

Of course, not everyone is as anal about time as we are so she was 15 minutes late to transfer her clothes. She came in made up to the nines so I guess laundry was not the priority. Oh well, I managed to get it finished while Bill went to the field.

I worked on the tree
while doing laundry and after.

I stayed then and worked on the puzzle. It was quite hot so Gibbs didn't get out for a walk and I'm sure he didn't mind too much. It is nice and cool indoors. I was finding pieces, left right and centre, and finished the tree in the picture before 11:30.

We sat outside for a few minutes
before lunch.
Gibbs found his cool spot.

I made out better than Bill; he sent me a picture of his fun-flying Somthin' Xtra........nose etc. broken beyond repair. That made me sad, he was having such fun and I thought we were home free with his planes. It won't stop him, heavens no! He'll have a replacement before we leave for home.

This morning, I put together a baking pan of apple crisp for our afternoon Irish Feast potluck. One pie wasn't going to be enough for the 16 attendees so this was the better way to go. Still using Ridge apples and emptying the freezer.

The apple crisp turned
out great.

I tested our convection oven once more, but it wasn't heating up enough and it wouldn't do any more than heat the upper portion. We've already decided on how to move forward with that issue.

Two pots of corned beef.
Fred made one batch and
the other was commercially
prepared.
Very good.

Bill and I had lunch and I sat outside with Gibbs for 45 minutes. I carried it over and used the park oven. Smells delicious! Sue and Fred were preparing the bulk of the meal and the corned beef and cabbage was smelling good!

It was a good meal,
lots to eat.

Bill and I joined 16 other guests for dinner at 4. Along with the corned beef and cabbage, we had potatoes, a corn salad, fruit salad, devilled eggs, bread and cheesecake, chocolate cake and apple crisp for dessert. All good.

Before dinner at 4, I was quite pleased
with even more progress.

I stayed with Anne Marie and helped Sue clean up the dishes and then 6 of us ladies played Rumnikub until 7:30. We always have fun and our time is running short. Bill and Gibbs had gone for their walk and were relaxing at home when I returned.

My camera didn't want to focus
but it looks like we missed a lovely
sunset.

It was a great day, reaching 93F/31C at its peak. Should be a decent night for sleeping with windows open and another hot one tomorrow.

So, I stole this one from
Mar. 15th, 2023.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. Glad to see you are making progress on that puzzle. It was really great that it worked out to meet for lunch on Saturday. A nice last visit for this season. Looking forward to the next time with cross paths.
