The Ridge
On Friday, Apr. 24th I was awakened when I heard Bill and Gibbs get up at 6:25 or so. I knew I had to start my cleaning job this morning but I also knew that I set my own hours. With that knowledge, I rolled over and went back to sleep until 7:05.

Good morning!
My cloudy drive to town
this morning.
It was a bit after 7:30 when I drove into Durham to clean the Mat. The place was empty and I fell easily back into the rhythm of the job. There are 14 dryers and 20 (?) washers to wipe down and empty lint trays for. It isn't a hard job, and sometimes it can be more of a challenge than others.
I'm in and out within an hour, usually, unless one of those 'times' presents itself. I jot down my time and lock up. Today, before I even went in the door, I stopped across the street at the Ultramar gas station to fill Ptooties. She was thirsty and I was able to take advantage of another .7¢ off per litre.

I looked out the Mat window to the
north and it looked like rain was
imminent.
It never came until after 8:30 pm.
Back home, Bill was ready to go to Owen Sound so I quickly changed out of my 'work' tee and we headed out. We'd filled out our application for our new passports online and wanted to get that in motion. You never know how long it will take to get them back.

Then on the way back from
Owen Sound, Bill took the back way.
I love this country road.
We went first to CAA where Bill gets a free passport picture and I get mine for $10. We look like convicts, with no glasses and no smiles, but who cares? They always turn out terrible. We arrived at Service Canada and waited for 2 hours for our number to be called. Not thinking, we should have made appointments. Duh!
At 10 minutes before they closed for a 30 minute lunch (2 staff only on duty), we were called in. She quickly checked our apps over and told us we were 11 days too early. Our old ones don't expire until May 4th, 2027. Crap! Oh well, we'll make our appointments for sure for that one and hang on to our $$ a little while longer. 😂

Gibbs was happy to see us
but when he went out to piddle,
he just wanted attention.
Back home, we were hungry for a late lunch so Bill made a sandwich and I fried a couple of eggs with toast. Our supper will be late so it wouldn't bother us. We relaxed inside, Bill and Gibbs dozed, and I watched videos online and started my blog post.
It isn't a really warm day, although about 16C/59F. The winds and clouds are controlling the temperature today. We are expecting some rain around 9 pm, overnight (oh just great) and into tomorrow morning. Still better than the other stuff that the eastern and western provinces are getting!
Gibbs went out with Bill around 3 but the little guy wasn't long and he was back on the stoop to come in with Mom. He definitely loves us both. 💗 I didn't feel like going out today, so I sat at my table and worked on 2 greeting cards that I'd started.

| It's not perfect, but I like how it turned out. |
I knew Bill was busy in the Hangar so when the cards were done, I sat with Gibbs in the big chair until 5. We left the little guy in charge and drove to the curling club for Catch the Ace with the Lion's Club. Tonight, we were helping count the sold tickets.

Deidter is such a character,
always has us laughing at these
gatherings.
Because our C the A collections are
going to the hospital for an X-Ray
machine, this is his costume.
It was a fun night, the first one for this sumer's draws. Deidter tries to come up with comical outfits and performances as Nella records the live drawing. It went well, we received a lot of 'welcome back greetings', which was very nice. We didn't win, but that's ok on the first draw! Congrats, Darlene!
Back home, I grabbed a couple of our Mexican blanket purchases and we went for water at Dot and Gord's. Gibbs was happy to go as well and see his friend, Dot. 💕 It was great to see our neighbours for a visit.

Then we went to get water
at Dot and Gord's.
They both chose the same blanket and against protests, we left them with it. They do so much for us, we wanted to give them something so they know that we appreciate it. It's from Gibbs too! We had toasted tomato, cheese and lettuce sandwiches for our supper and a piece of fudge.
I re-watched a movie called Max, and listened to the rain that started around 8:45. It has been a good day and I'm back into the groove of one of my part time jobs. We reached 15.56C/60F this afternoon at its peak.

These tomato sandwiches were
delicious in a bun!
Good night!
Thank you for popping in.
