Two Rivers Campground, Nashville
Okay, so we woke up in a quiet little park in Nashville, on Monday, Oct. 21st. The highway is close to us and I can hear traffic as I sit here but we never noticed it last night. We are far enough away but not too far from the office, which is nice. We both had our showers this morning, first thing, and enjoyed the pressure and free water! 😊

Then we sat to figure out what we want to and can afford to do while here in the music city. First off, to mention last night’s entertainment here in the park. Tim Abbott and his son, Tristan, showed us and other campers a fun evening from 7 to 9. We sat outside, which did get cool (I was not dressed appropriately) and tapped our toes and sang along to their country and rock music.

Tim is
quite the character and told us stories of his 38-year career as a back up piano
player at the Grand Ole Opry for many well-known celebrities. His son played
drums and sang for us as well. It was
great! This morning, we walked to the office to get some guidance as far as the
trolley tours into downtown and bought tickets for Wednesday morning, getting a
discount from the park as well.

When we
walked back, we had a clearer understanding of what part of our week would look
like. We will not be going every day, at least not for the whole day, but will
be sure to get a taste of the Nashville experience. We walked over to Camping World,
which was dangerously close, next door! Of course, we found things we either
needed or wanted at good prices and returned to the Suite and Gibbs.

It was
his turn so I took him to the doggie park so he could walk around off leash. No
other puppies were there for him to play with though. After lunch, at which I
had the leftover pizza (so good, heated in Rosy), we walked up to catch the
Music City Shuttle at 1:30. We sat on the front porch to wait and met a lovely
couple with those wonderful Australian accents. 😊 Carmel and Bill, not sure if I have spelled her name right,
were catching the same bus.

The music
was great for each one and although it wasn’t ‘wall to wall’ tourists, it was
close. The pictures will have to tell the story of what bars we saw and we
ended up having a drink at Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood’s ‘Friends in Low
Places’. To say they are expensive is a moot point, of course they are! Even
more than my last expensive drink on Beale Street with our buddies, Rob and
Pat. They were $12. We enjoyed the 3 hours and caught our ride back around 5:15.

Gibbs did
his walk-about and we left him yet again to go around the corner for a meal at
Cracker Barrel. Because we don’t have them in Canada, we wanted to indulge
while it was so close. A lot better pricing too, than in the Broadway district.
😊 Back home by 7:30, we streamed the new episode of Fire
Country and at 9, I was in bed. It was a lovely day, 78F/26C with clear sky all
day.
