Two Rivers Campground, Nashville
Okay, so we woke up in a quiet little park in Nashville, on Monday, Oct. 21st. The highway is close to us and I can hear traffic as I sit here but we never noticed it last night. We are far enough away but not too far from the office, which is nice. We both had our showers this morning, first thing, and enjoyed the pressure and free water! 😊
Good morning! Views from our park. |
Then we sat to figure out what we want to and can afford to do while here in the music city. First off, to mention last night’s entertainment here in the park. Tim Abbott and his son, Tristan, showed us and other campers a fun evening from 7 to 9. We sat outside, which did get cool (I was not dressed appropriately) and tapped our toes and sang along to their country and rock music.
Tim and Tristan Abbot our Sunday night entertainment |
Tim is
quite the character and told us stories of his 38-year career as a back up piano
player at the Grand Ole Opry for many well-known celebrities. His son played
drums and sang for us as well. It was
great! This morning, we walked to the office to get some guidance as far as the
trolley tours into downtown and bought tickets for Wednesday morning, getting a
discount from the park as well.
Waiting and riding the shuttle. Bill, Carmel and Bill on the left. |
When we
walked back, we had a clearer understanding of what part of our week would look
like. We will not be going every day, at least not for the whole day, but will
be sure to get a taste of the Nashville experience. We walked over to Camping World,
which was dangerously close, next door! Of course, we found things we either
needed or wanted at good prices and returned to the Suite and Gibbs.
Views down Broadway St. Hey, that's me in the top photo! |
It was
his turn so I took him to the doggie park so he could walk around off leash. No
other puppies were there for him to play with though. After lunch, at which I
had the leftover pizza (so good, heated in Rosy), we walked up to catch the
Music City Shuttle at 1:30. We sat on the front porch to wait and met a lovely
couple with those wonderful Australian accents. 😊 Carmel and Bill, not sure if I have spelled her name right,
were catching the same bus.
Lots of country entertainer marquees. Fun to see. We popped into a few bars and the music was good at every one. |
We watched the tv show about the building of this bar venue so had to stand by his statue. |
Sharing a drink on the balcony level |
We had to show ID to enter the rooftop bar and Trisha's kitchen. Not sure why but we had to see. Notice my sign in the top left? Just chillin...............they forgot 'with Patsy'! |
The music
was great for each one and although it wasn’t ‘wall to wall’ tourists, it was
close. The pictures will have to tell the story of what bars we saw and we
ended up having a drink at Garth Brooks/Trisha Yearwood’s ‘Friends in Low
Places’. To say they are expensive is a moot point, of course they are! Even
more than my last expensive drink on Beale Street with our buddies, Rob and
Pat. They were $12. We enjoyed the 3 hours and caught our ride back around 5:15.
Some reading material for you. |
Our shuttle stop was behind the Ryman Auditorium. |
You know where we are when you see the peg game - if you've ever been to a CB. |
Gibbs did
his walk-about and we left him yet again to go around the corner for a meal at
Cracker Barrel. Because we don’t have them in Canada, we wanted to indulge
while it was so close. A lot better pricing too, than in the Broadway district.
😊 Back home by 7:30, we streamed the new episode of Fire
Country and at 9, I was in bed. It was a lovely day, 78F/26C with clear sky all
day.
Good night! |
Thank you for your visit! Come back tomorrow, y’all! ♥
I am watching yiur Nashville adventure. We had planned that this year but somehow we didn’t make it happen. Have fun! Lorne & Sue
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't sound like we'll see you this winter? We're sad about that but understand we all have our own destinations and plans. Have fun!
DeleteHope you get the chance to visit the Country Music Hall of Fame and maybe take in a show at the Ryman Auditorium (Grand Ole Opry) (Bring Seat Cushions)
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with the quality and price of eating at Cracker Barrel.
Be Safe and Enjoy the adventure.
It's about time.
We're not sure yet what we'll be seeing but do know that a show is NOT in the budget. $160 per person for a show where you don't know who is performing until you go is out of our league. We'll have fun regardless of what we do.
DeleteThanks.
Sounds like a nice leisurely afternoon. Enjoy your stay.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys. It was a busy afternoon but today will be the relaxing one! :)
DeleteSo great to meet Bill and Pat while waiting for the shuttle. We are totally enjoying Nashville, what a hoot. The music is fabulous, the city modern and clean, everyone is happy and courteous, the weather is spectacular. Keep enjoying the mobile home life Bill and Pat, love reading your blogs
ReplyDeleteYay! Thank you for the comment and now I know I did spell your name correctly. ♥ It's cool that you are also parked directly across from us even though a short time in the park. Enjoy your symphony concert tonight!
DeleteWe are thrilled to have met you both.
First day went well, I see. Lots to see without spending big bucks. Just enjoy the streets and walk abouts.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! We can't spend what we don't have.
DeleteWow, it looks like a wonderful day. Enjoy the sightseeing in Nashville.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It looks like a good time.

Glad you are having a good time. You don't have to break the bank to have fun. Those show prices are crazy, especially if you don't know who you are going to see! Stay safe and have fun. Becky
