Just What we Need - More Water!

The Ridge, Priceville, On

On Saturday, Apr. 18th I woke up at 6:30 when Gibbs and Bill went out. Even though I had my ear plugs in, I could hear the strong winds out there. Pretty gusty! I was afraid to move, I didn't want a repeat of yesterday.

Good morning!
Bill got the shelter up yesterday.

When I rolled over onto my back, I knew instantly that I was better. Strange things happen sometimes with no rhyme or reason but I was grateful. So very grateful. I came downstairs and Bill asked how my knee was. I'm sure he was tired of me groaning last night. Concerned though too.

We had our tea and coffee together and with the wind and rain outside (oh joy), knew we would be inside today. Bill went online and began the process of filling out an application for the renewal of our passports. They expire early next year.

You can see how close the pond
water is to our lane.
Just what we need, more puddles.

At 10 or so, I hopped in Ptooties and drove to Hanover. First stop at Donna's to pick up something, then to Walmart to pick up some much needed food items. I walked out of there, quite surprised. We have enough meat for at least 10 meals for under $150.

Here is the mailbox,
back in place.
We'll have to get rid of
the cement ball that Bill
and Black Beauty pulled out.

I went to Giant Tiger next, a small chain store that has a bit of everything. I like their inexpensive non-brand name clothing and I was looking for something in particular. And I found it. 😀

The Dollarama, next door, had the few other things I was looking for and then I headed for home. It had not stopped raining from the time I pulled out of the Ridge. I made a stop in Durham for a fuel top up to take advantage of a .10¢/litre discount.

More rain, LOL

I had to stop part way up the lane, someone was sitting directly in the track, looking at me. What could I do but laugh, take a picture and after a couple of minutes, pick her up gently and move her across to the other side of the path.

Hello there.
Putting up a barricade won't stop me
from getting up the hill.
😂
It will slow me down though.

We finished the passport process, I purged my closet in preparation of the clothing exchange and then went through my 2 jewellery boxes. It's hard to get rid of my stuff, even though I'm not wearing a lot of it. I'm just not ready but I did get a baggie full to take.

We had a one on one chat.
Then I picked her up and took her to
where she was headed.
Safely on the other side.

For supper, we had a beef meat pie. Bill had fries with his but I only needed pickles, olives and tomatoes. They were good and made for an inexpensive meal. We caught up on NCIS:Origins from last Tuesday and Bill went up to watch a movie while I worked on my blog.

An easy supper but
it was good!

This was a wet, cool day but we still accomplished a few things inside. The weather is making a change with possible flurries overnight and into tomorrow but we'll grin and bear it and come out on the other side.

Yesterday, Bill captured these guys/gals
in there regular spot, sunning.
Love to see this!

We started at 15C/59F and as I write this at 8:30, we are sitting at 35.6F.

Happy 21st Birthday to our grandson, Connor. You have made your family proud with your accomplishments!

Thank you for stopping by.

Rain, Rain Go Away

Park Place RV Park

Some may say TGIF, however on Friday, Nov. 21st it was just another day for us. Well, you know, retirement is like that......even semi-retirement when you are in the warm desert of Arizona. However, I DO vividly remember the excitement of a Friday.

Good morning!
How true this is.

We woke to the threat of rain again, but Bill and I both agreed that we each slept well. I first woke at 4:30 but was back off to sleep immediately. I was gung ho for the short walk with Diane and Sue but waiting until it was time to leave, made me second guess.

I made my tea at 7:45 and that's when I saw Diane walk by. Sue didn't go either, woops! 😁 By then, it was raining so it was just as well we didn't get out there. It didn't stop, for the most part, all day. It was pretty quiet around here, one check out and that was it.

Lunch, beans on toast.
It filled my grumbling tummy.

I took my crocheting over to the clubhouse, since I had to be there anyway, and after a 'rippit rippit' of half of my work, I figured out my error and it went swimmingly from there! Bill had no need to be present so he stayed home with Gibbs for the afternoon.

Passing the time at the clubhouse.

After locking up, I returned home with my tea and began preparing supper. Tonight, Bill's favourite ground beef meal, meat loaf. It will give us leftovers for 2, maybe 3 nights. As a side dish we had mac & cheese and a vegetable. I need to get more of my veggies, I'm getting tired of mixed veggies and corn.

Supper

We watched a movie together at 6, Hallmark but at least a mystery one. I don't mind those so much. This was a good day, but I wasn't out in the rain so didn't get pictures. We had a cooler high of only 55F/12C but will be back up into the mid 60's tomorrow and beyond.

Someone was a little mopey
today, but still a cute little bum.
Good night.

Thank you for the pop by! Your comments are always appreciated.

Here Comes the Rain – Again

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Jan. 22nd, it was expected that we would get more rain, for most of the day. Our first few years coming down to Arizona were dry, we rarely saw any precipitation and if we did it lasted a few minutes and that was it. The locals were crying for it and the Saguaros stored up anything they could get. 😊  So, this is different for us. However, it is what it is and we accept it along with the varying temps.

Good morning!

It was a cloudy morning with no change expected all day so Bill opted to stay home this morning with Gibbs. Gibbs and I went for our walk and at 9:10, Nancy and I walked over for our game.

But it didn't last

Today, it was a full house with 8 ladies playing. Barb and I brought up the bottom two so we can pretend that high numbers win! Home for lunch and then with the threat of rain even heavier, I walked over to the clubhouse to work on the puzzle that Susan started.

You've heard of Men with Brooms?
This is Ladies with Sticks. More dangerous! 😂

Another pretty picture and this one, so far, seems much easier than the last. 😊 With an invite to join our Roadrunner friends’ group at Silly Al’s tonight (yay!) I returned home around 2:45. Yeuch, wet and rainy leaving a dampness inside and out. Because they weren’t leaving until 5:15, I decided to have my cup of tea around 3:30. It would take the chill off. We left the park with Nancy around 5 pm to try and get us a parking spot for Black Beauty.

So far, easier than the last one.

The way the clouds hung over the
mountains was still pretty
Notice the rain puddles?

It had pretty much stopped raining by then and after waiting for about 5 minutes, we snagged a spot in the lot. It is small and always jammed full. You just have to be patient.

Waiting in line to gain entry.
Hard to find seating for 9 so they ended up putting
two tables together.

We got in line after leaving our name on the list for a table for 9. The line was outside so we watched for our friends to arrive which they did tout suite. It was about an hour wait but I felt pretty good waiting, I had my tea that seems to keep me content until 6 or 6:30.

The placewas packed and in far back
corner, more lined up to come in.

They found us a table (well, two put together) as they always do and even though we had to wait for a long time for our drinks and pizzas, it was worth it. I enjoyed the company, my margarita and food. We left by 7:30 and went our separate ways after saying goodbye, especially to Sara(h), who will be flying home on Wednesday. It was a pleasure meeting her for the brief time we saw her. 😊

Look at those hungry faces! 😁

My meal.
That was a strong but delicious margarita on the rocks
and the pizza never disappoints.

This was a fun day and dinner with friends. We will spend the evening with our books rather than watching tv. I can feel the alcohol in my system so I know I’ll probably be in bed at a good time tonight.

Good night!

Thank you for the visit!
