The Ridge
On Sunday, Apr. 20th we were late risers, kind of. Well, Bill and Gibbs didn't get up for their first outing until 6:45. When I heard them get up, I actually groaned. Is it already time to get up? Laundry and cleaning had me on a bit of a personally-set schedule.

Good morning! A dull one it was.

But it brightened up by the time I was headed home from town
I got things sorted into two loads and Bill carried the basket out to Ptooties for me. I took my tea and seemed to be walking in a brain fog. I know I could have slept longer! Only Dollar Store Dave was doing his laundry, otherwise it was quiet and I was able to get that muddy floor from Friday cleaned up.

Missing a sock? I can't understand why so many people don't bother to match their socks before leaving the Mat.
I emptied the lost and found box, and when I got to the bottom, I was pretty sure that Ron neglected to empty it all winter. There were 30 individual socks, non matching except for one pair of teeny tiny baby ones. I sorted and washed the good stuff and put them in a bag for the clothing exchange. Only 4 items today.

Over a week ago, I starting on this plaque. Practicing quilling styles but it needed something.

Today, I finished it.
When I got home, I hung a few of those items on the line. It was a cool start to the day, only -1C/31F when we got up with an expected high of 11C/51F. If the sun comes out and the winds stay low, that will be lovely but we know not to count on too much 'loveliness' in April. I speak from experience!

Gibbs had many positions today What are you doing, little bum?

Keeping an eye on the neighbours, Mom.
I made my b.p. Coffee and when Bill went to the Hangar, Gibbs went outside with him. I got my paper quilling out, I have a Mother's Day card and a hanging plaque to finish. I don't know where I'll put my creation but it is fun to create things anyway.

This is the garden I started on this morning
A light lunch and I took a break when the sun DID come out in full force. I went from my winter jacket, to a quilted hoody to just my sweater with rolled up sleeves as I worked in one of the gardens on the berm in the corral.

Gibbs supervises from atop the hill
I like to think he was helping pull weeds
but in reality, he was probably sniffing
for treats.
I raked the big garden and decided to dig the grass and weeds from in between the irises and periwinkle. Easier now than later.

He finds shade wherever he goes.
Gibbs was still outside from 10 am (until 4!) so because Bill suggested I be careful and don't overdo it, I only did half the garden and then sat with Gibbs in the sun with my book. It was a beautiful afternoon although you could still feel a slight chill in the air.

Gibbs loves this spot in the summer. He can keep an eye on the Hangar and an eye on me up by the Suite.
I made my tea and did some more quilling. I was pleased with the outcome. For supper, which was early because of our small nibbles at noon, we had barbecued bacon cheeseburgers. Yay! First time since we've come home and it was a great night for it. We finished the rice pudding for dessert.

We stopped around 3:30 for a cold drink and a couple of chapters. Well, I did.
Bill went back to the Hangar, right back in his element, ♥, I wrote my blog and watched some tv. I was just putting in time until American Idol came on at 8 and watched The Life of Dogs:Pt. 2. Oh my goodness, it is so cute and had me giggling like a school girl.

Shade behind my chair.
This has been a good day, maybe we are finally on the right side of this silly month. We did get the picnic table, king chairs and patio chairs set up on the lawn so hopefully that was a wise move. We also reached our forecasted high but until Tuesday, it will be iffy whether we get warm temperatures.
In case you haven't noticed, I'm still trying different ways to write my blog on my new laptop. I had praises about one of the fonts I used but darned if I can remember how i did that particular post. So bear with me as I work through the changes.

DeleteLove your quilling .. those socks, not so much!! lol
ReplyDeleteHaha thank you!
DeletePatsy, with all the socks left behind, you should start making sock puppets.
ReplyDeleteNow, there's an idea.
DeleteThe plaque looks very nice! That's the problem with hobbies, eventually we run out of room for them. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely weather day yesterday; both the Easter egg hunt and some flower bed clean-up was completed. Today is another good day, but there is that darned four letter word (starts with S, ends with W, and had NO in the middle) in the forecast tomorrow.
Thank you, you're right. I need a house for my crafts!!
DeleteOh no, we'll don't send it here when you're finished, Wednesday looks good for now but a cold one tomorrow.
Love your quilling tree!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteNice job on the plaque. Enjoyed our visit with Kris, and had a wonderful Easter.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
