The Ridge
On Tuesday, Apr. 15th we all slept in again. Bill and Gibbs were up around 6:30 but when I re-woke around 7, Gibbs was sound asleep beside me and Bill was obviously sleeping downstairs. 😁 Neither of us had to go anywhere today so a lazy day it became.

Good morning! Although this is the lovely picture I was graced with at last night's sunset. |
The weather outside was 'frightful', our so-called spring has yet again given us a jolt to our system. I can't help but think of the young gal that I saw in short shorts just yesterday, what a shock this must be for her! I could hear the rain starting at 7:30 just before crawling out of bed. It was supposed to turn to snow by late morning or early afternoon. Just great. LOL

Bill worked on his blog at the coffee table, giving me room at the table. Gibbs slept. |
At one point during the day, Bill checked the propane tank and it was still good to go. When one empties, we have two 40-lbers, he gets it refilled so we never run out. Soon, we can tally up what we've used since returning home and soon, the temperature will rise. I believe it to be true!! So, today, I stayed indoors and brought out my paper quilling materials. I'm so pleased that I have this to do as I love the craft.😍

It is hard to tell in these pictures, but there was light blowing snow enough to keep us indoors. |

A gray sky, all day. We saw the sun and a thumbprint of blue for a few seconds and that was it. |
Bill could see no point in going to the Hangar to continue his purge/cleanup as it would mean running the electric heater to try and keep warm. Our forecast today was to be a chilly 4C/40F but it didn't get any warmer than -1C/30F all day. The strong wind gusts were enough to keep it from climbing. Between 30 and 35 mph off and on all day.

My Easter creation. That is supposed to be an Easter egg and a cross. At least my chicks and bunny look real! |
Bill did sit and write a blog post today, which you can check out here, and I managed to create a fun Easter card, just because. We had bacon and eggs for lunch and after cleanup, I went back at my fun while my boys had their snoozes upstairs until supper time. Gibbs isn't interested in staying out very long today, he understands cold too!

I also spent a bit of time, in between reading and sitting with Gibbs, transferring the pictures from Bill's laptop to mine. Mid February to mid April, that's a lot of my photos! |
Supper was fully cooked Schneiders ham, just a small one, heated up in Rosy, the air fryer. I cooked some mini yellow potatoes and Brussel Sprouts on the stove and corn in the microwave. Bill never gets tired of his corn and I guess I can say the same for my vegetables. 😋 After dishes, I finished my blog post and we each found a movie to watch.

Supper was wonderful. We'll be having a big meal on the weekend, so thought we'd have our ham dinner today. |
With the bitter cold overnight temps reaching -4C/24F, we can only hope it will be too cold for it to snow. We have had quite enough in our short time home. Bill said today that even if we had waited a week to return as we originally planned, we would have had to deal with this 'winter' return. Be grateful for what we have and where we are, so we are doing our best!

Saw this on Facebook and I thought it was so true! Good night! |
Thank you for your visit. Your comments are always read and I try to answer each and every one.
Your pond looks HUGE!! Maybe just couldn't see all of it before...nice trimming!
ReplyDeleteYou're so good at the quilling :) is hot glue holding the ends together? Very nice!
I had a ham sandwich for lunch! too funny! Enjoy your evening....blue skies in Az.
The pond is big but only one part has any real depth, about 10'. Pretty swampy throughout though.
DeleteThank you, it is just Elmer's white glue used for the quilling. 😊
I love ham. Blue skies here on Wednesday night too but much colder than AZ!!
You did an awesome job on the Easter scene. I hope you get some warmer weather very soon. We seem to be doing the yoyo thing temperature wise lately. One day it is a beautiful warm day, the next is cold and windy.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you, I had a lot of fun making that scene. Warmer weather is on the way!!
DeleteNice job on the Easter card! And brrr, I was outside planting flowers yesterday and it was nice and warm ... but today is suppose to be cooler ... fortunately not nearly as cold as what you are having.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I had fun. Yes, brrr is right.
DeleteThat is a CUTE card!! Great quilling!! I can't say I complain about winter too much because I love being inside cuddling with the kid!! Trying out my latest SPRING crazy dance to send some warm your way.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy, fun quilling. Inside can be fun too, just not in April!! Get dancing!!
DeleteI love your Eastercard, the wee bunny and chicks are especially cute.
ReplyDeleteWe're warmer here overnight, surely the weather will improve soon.
Thank you Maebeme. I'm proud of the little critters too. Cold tonight but warmer tomorrow.
