Laundry Day, A Late Day Appearance

The Ridge

On Saturday, May 24th it was 6:45 when I got moving. Washed, dressed and helped Bill finish the laundry sorting. He carried the basket to Ptooties and I was off in the foggy, cool 7C/45F morning. There was no wind so it didn’t feel too bad.

Good morning!
The only goslings we've seen so far.

A couple of customers were inside while I worked but it was easy going. I emptied clothes from the L & F again, that have been there for over a week. I washed and dried them along with our clothes before bringing them home. No question about drying them in the dryers today! LOL

Hadn't seen her for a while
so it was pleasant to have a visit today.

Bill didn’t have any thought of flying this morning either. The day was rainy and cool with no hope of clearing. Pretty sad but at least we are okay otherwise. 😊 Back home, we put clothes away and eventually had lunch. I’d noticed a sign advertising a ‘Mayfair’ at a private country school so took a drive over there around 12:30.

Third cute 'thing' of the day.
💕

It sure wasn’t what I expected and outside with minimal rain shelters, it didn’t turn my crank. It seemed to be mostly for children, other than the odd booth of homemade jam, facial creams and some plants. They were set up for bbq burgers and dogs w/salads but I wasn’t interested. Strange event with many, many cars along the roadside so someone enjoyed it!

This was a messy drive
and this was only one of the busy
roads right in front of the school.

There was quite a good turnout
during the 15 minutes I was there.

I did buy 3 nice looking tomato plants and scooted the back way home. Poor Ptooties is prob ably looking pretty dirty right about now!

The roads closer to home,
except ours, were in better condition
Look at that black sky ahead.

Bill was in the Hangar all afternoon and so I worked inside on more paper quilling. Our friend, Roz, is impressed with my hobby so I’m making her some indigenous earrings – or trying to. 😊

My messy quilling table.
See Gibbs in the chair?
Then, once outside, he was able
to sit on the steps to patrol again.

For supper, we finished the pork loin, dressing, gravy (Bill had a hot pork sandwich) and I had cauliflower potatoes. We had strawberries and cream for dessert. It was all very good! Gibbs was mostly in all day but when it stopped raining periodically, he would go out and sit on the step.

It was very good.

This was a good day, perhaps one of the last fully rainy days at least. Maybe I can get my plants into their grow bags tomorrow! Fingers crossed for warmer days too. Oh! I had a nice little text message chat with Bette, the park host in Arizona. She’s in California for the summer so it was nice to hear from her. 😊

Then the magic happened!!
The clouds moved and the sun made a
surprise appearance!!

Might be a lovely sunset tonight.

Happy Birthday to Bill’s oldest daughter, Yvonne. Hope it was a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Yvonne!
Good night y'all!

Thank you for stopping by. A little birdie tells me there is another special birthday today too. She knows who she is so I'll send a wonderful Happy Birthday out to her too! 🍰
