Laundry Day - Line or Dryer?

The Ridge

On Saturday, June 21st the day started off under light cloudy skies. All clouds, but not heavy ones. Bill had the 2 loads of clothes sorted by the time I finished washing and getting dressed. I leave before him on the weekend but he was heading out too.

Good morning!

No one was doing laundry at the Mat and I rushed through my jobs after loading 2 washers. I knew Ron, the maintenance/garbage man, would be in around 9 and wanted to be out before then. He is a very nice man but talks without listening. You know?😉

Upon my return, it looks
like we have company.
Can you see them?

I tossed the heavy jeans, and shorts in the dryer there and brought the remaining items home for the clothes line. Rain was forecasted to arrived around 12 noon. It was quite warm already and there was a nice wind so I was positive they would dry quickly.

Two families go into the field not yet cut
looking for insects.
One family w/4 babies and one
w/2 babies. I guess they are now teenagers.

After leaving the Mat, I went to Home Hardware for the solid stain I need to redo our King chairs. Lastly, since Gibbs has started scratching his belly in the last couple of weeks, I stopped at our I.D.A. Drug Mart for some Aerius allergy pills. They were on sale so I got two packs of 10 to try.😏

As I was hanging the clothes,
I said a silent prayer to Mr. Sunshine to
dry them quick, before the rain.
I was obliged as Bill and i brought them
in at 11:45 and it rained at 12:02.

At home, I hung the clothes with Gibbs' supervision and brought the dry ones inside to put away. Next, I pushed myself to get out and weed the other corral garden. It didn't take longer than 30 minutes so that was good. Gibbs took the pill, smothered in peanut butter and hopefully we'll notice a change in a few days.🙏

Okay, the second corral garden has now
been weeded too.
Just trimming around the edges to do.
Maybe tomorrow?

It is quite humid so I rested for 20 minutes and then walked down Northline to an Open House that Gerry is working this morning. Donna was there as well and I was the only 'walk-through'. Too bad but I guess giving up an hour and a half of their time for a 'possibility' is what you have to do as an agent.

Past the sign and down the country
road to the house. I should've taken a
picture!!

The house and property is gorgeous, sorry no pics, but it should be at $1,100,000. I told Gerry, after his tour, that I'd talk to Bill. Hahahahahahahahaha. No, in actuality, if we had $1,000,000 we would buy the Ridge and build there. That's a pipe dream. 💘

The corn is coming and should meet
the requirements of 'knee high by the 1st of July'.

Bill was home when I returned, and we had lunch during which the rain started. Right on schedule, huh! The temperature cooled off considerably but it was still a nice breeze coming in the open windows.

The wind gusted while a thunderstorm went through, mostly to the northeast of us. I made a coffee and the boys went for a snooze. It was time for me to hop in the shower and after the dirt digging, it felt great!

After touching base with Jess (my Az teacher)
she gave me some tips on what rings to buy,
I finished the Indigenous earrings for Roz.
It was easier than I thought!

The remainder of the day was doing what we love. One of the things at least! He went to the Hangar and I worked on making Roz's earrings. I will see her on Friday evening for the new Catch the Ace draw. I'm so pleased with how easy that went with the new jump rings. 💕

Gibbs and I went out and walked about for 15, minutes and the wind, although strong at times, felt wonderful. That's when you know it is a warm day - when you enjoy the Ridge winds. 😂

Gibbs noticed his treat cupboard door was open.
After sniffing it out, he lay down and just stared at it.
😂
Whatever do they think?

We reached a high of 25C/77F today and our overnight will not be much cooler, in fact rising a few degrees before 'cooling' off to 23C/84F. I felt pretty good about the earring-making process now that I made a couple for myself, in colours that I don't have.

For supper, we had toasted bacon, cheese and tomato sandwiches. Bill had his on buns and I had mine on Carbonaut bread. Still loving the thought of only 9 gr. of carbs and the taste is great!

Supper was quick and yummy!

Bill went to the Hangar after cleanup, I finished my blog and Gibbs stretched out on the floor. He hasn't scratched all afternoon! 💖💖💖

So, Daddy had him shake a paw, lay down
and 'roll over' (which he hasn't quite mastered yet.
I tried to get a video but should have started
it sooner. So cute.

It was a great day! Get ready for a 10 degree warm up here in the neighbourhood......we may be testing the a/c before too long!

Interesting sky tonight.
That's not the moon or sun, it's
a reflection of our indoor light.
Good night!

Thanks for the visit.

  1. Gibbs is such a good boy! Just stares at his treats but doesnt take any. Your place is wonderful, if by chance you get to own it, will you have to put in permanent plumbing? Dee

  3. Glad the scratching has eased for Gibbs.
We've been getting rain off an on since the big storm on Thursday night. According to the forecast we'll get more over the time we're away on our vacation. Speaking of weeds, I suspect they'll be huge by the time I get back! :)

Our rain forecast is minimal right now. More heat than anything. Not complaining!

  5. Well I hope you tested the A/C today! It was sweltering. We missed yesterday's storm as we were inside a restaurant the whole time!

  6. I am a happy person today, we finally got the rain we were hoping for and of course a cool down which means the air conditioner was not running at all today. I am tempted to open a few windows to let in the cool air while the oven is on.
I am glad Gibbs is not scratching as much any more and that he took the pill so easily.

    God bless.
