Whirlwind Morning, Quiet Afternoon, Evening Out

The Ridge

On Wednesday, June 11th (no birthdays!) I found myself waking up way before it was time. I refused to look at the clock because then I seem to have a problem dropping back off. Not sure why,  but it is true. When I finally did look, it was only 4:20 so I rolled over and went back to sleep.

Good morning!
Again, a couple of  Tuesday night's sky photo.

Once more, I was deep in dream-state and didn't hear Bill get up with Gibbs. At 6:25, I woke, exercised and slipped into the bathroom before Bill came up to brush his teeth. Our timing has to be a bit flexible, especially on those mornings when we both work.

Tuesday night's sky

So, he was gone within minutes of my getting up and at 6:50, I was ready to leave as well. While in Ptooties, I remembered that I didn't put the awning in so got out to do that. At that moment, Robin called wondering what my plans were for the day.

The a/c guys were in and out
of the bnb, disappearing into the
basement through this trap door.

She had overbooked (that never happens!) her time and couldn't be in two places at once. Patsy to the rescue! 😊 I'm glad I only had cleaning at the Mat today so I could help. I ran back inside and got my book and the crossword I've been working on.

She had some of her garage sale items
in the foyer and I found this
puzzle. So I bought it from her!

Robin needed me to first clean Williamsford for her and second, stay there while the a/c was being installed. No problem! I left the Mat at 8 and arrived at the bnb around 8:30. The installers were there already. She has guests coming after 3 so it needs to be done and clean.

These ladies are coming out
of the woodwork!
They are everywhere.

I was home by 12:45 and after letting Gibbs run around, made my lunch. Tomato sandwich, celery w/ peanut butter and cheese. It hit the spot. Then, I started my blog and relaxed for a bit. There wasn't much down time there after cleaning, washing the bedding and watering her plants. 😉

Gibbs and I went to check for mail
and he ran back to this shade.
He could hear Daddy turning the
corner so he's waiting.

I needed to replace my hummingbird feed today and so I emptied what was in the feeder at the window. There was enough in the fridge to fill it again but the suction cup at the window gave way and everything ended up on the ground. Crap!

I had to hurry and make more so my daily visitors don't stop coming. It's in the fridge cooling now and I hope they remember that there is another feeder on the other stand. I put new oranges out again, the orioles are loving those and he has already been by to have a taste. 💞

                        (another Gibbs video)

It's a beautiful day out there, no rain last night but perhaps overnight tonight. I also didn't see the strawberry moon, maybe it was too cloudy? Looking at online pictures, it is awesome, wish I'd seen it in person!

Driving to the meeting in town.
The sun is drawing up water so
will we get showers tonight?

No supper prep is required tonight. At the Lion's Club Meeting we will be taking advantage of the meal offered. I made Roz a pair of earrings as well as an Indigenous dream catcher. Neither is perfect but I think she will like them.

The earrings and dream catcher I made for
Roz. She has a gathering in August where
she wants to wear them.
(she loved them, wanted to pay for them,
and ordered 3 more prs of earrings for her friends)

We left the Suite at 5:45 for the Community Centre. We were greeted warmly by other members and the catered meal of shaved roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, carrots and pie was served. Yum!

The meal was catered by a local
restaurant in town. Delicious!

The meeting ensued and eventually we were inducted.  Our acceptance was unanimous. 🤗 it was a late evening than our last meeting because it was the last until September and there was a changeover of executive members.

A pretty Mercury in the parking lot
at the Community Centre.
Has to be a Lion's Club member.

We were home by 9:30 to be greeted by a happy little puppy. The sky and sunset was very pretty so I snapped pictures in the parking lot before we left or I would have missed it.

Beautiful sky tonight

What a great day, on the the humid side but boo complaints here! We reached 27C/79F by early afternoon.

Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

  2. Oh yes ... the first step to the dreaded "volunteering" with the club. I have to admit though, you meet the nicest people in these groups. And it looks like the meals are awesome!! Hugs for Mr. Gibbs!!

They are really nice people and won't hurt us to get out and do a few things for the community. Gibbs thanks you for the hugs!

  6. I love your quilling! How clever to do a dream catcher - I would buy that for sure if I saw it at a summer market. (Hint hint!)
