A Few Clouds Made it into the Blog

Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Nov. 30th we both woke up from a good night's sleep. Bill sooner than I but still it is good when you only wake up once through the night. I had my tea and oatmeal around 7:30 and although I could feel a bit of discomfort, Sir Sciatica did not make a full on appearance. Yay!

Good Sunday morning!

We went about our day, expecting it to be fairly busy when I saw Fred out reading electric/hydro meters. It wasn't bad at all. I looked at the puzzle and didn't get into my quilling as Sue needed help with printing and stapling the bills together. A good time passer.

The clouds moved in

For lunch, I decided on a change and just had a couple pieces of my seeded bread toasted with homemade strawberry jam. Not mine but better! Bill was keeping busy outside. We heard from my sister, Gayle, that they were possibly arriving in the Q this afternoon, or at the latest, tomorrow.

They are the same colour as the
desert so you may not see the quail.
I enjoyed them though with their
disctinctive chatter.

It is nice to see family down here, wish more were able to make a trip and visit but that's a lot to expect. However, Sue has been getting the park model ready for guests. Guests meaning friends or family of the residents only for short term. I think it is a great idea and there is already a booking over Christmas.

The Arco station down the road from us
was crazy busy all day, causing traffic
jams. Their price is the cheapest in town
but not 'that' cheap!

I returned home at 4 and while Bill had a snooze, I took Gibbs for his walk. His choice, I just followed, basically. I was happy to hear, then see the Gamble Quail running across the desert across the road from the park. It's hard to capture them, they are fast and frightened of us.

I kept an eye on this before supper

I knew it would just get better and better

For supper, Bill grilled his cheeseburgers. They were awesome again. We prepared to watch The Road after we ate and cleaned up the few dishes. It has been another good day, quiet enough and not boring.

Yummy

We reached a pleasant high of 73F/21C but some clouds moved in after lunch. Maybe a pretty sunset? Our temperatures will be dropping off a bit this coming week. I think we'll survive!

I wasn't the only one watching the sky.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit!

It's the Weekend!

 Park Place RV Park

On Saturday, Nov. 29th I woke up from another nice night's sleep. I felt good when I got out of bed, no complaints. I didn't get up until 7:30 though, a leisurely rising.

Good morning!
Sue taking some laundry home.

Bill was downstairs having his breakfast so I joined him and had my oatmeal. The day was quiet, my boys went for a ride around the park together and I just chilled. The puzzle was finished when I went to the clubhouse, but I wasn't surprised. I hadn't been over yesterday at all.

I wasn't there to put the last pieces in,
but I don't mind. Happy that Renee
is working on them too!

I packed it up and found another one. Still too early to do the Christmas ones (I decided that) so will work up to it.😀  It was quiet, even over in the clubhouse but time went quite quickly. At noon, Bill and I had our lunch. A cheese, meat and green pepper wrap. It was good!

Should be a cute picture.

When I went back over after lunch, I had almost finished the border of the puzzle so took my paper quilling supplies. Just enough to work on cards without taking too much over. Today was another lovely day. We started at 47F/8C and heated up from there.

I did find the 2 border pieces later
in the day.

Bill was happy to see the UPS truck today, do I even need to tell you why? He's had his eye on a new plane and has been saving for one. It was delivered today and he is tickled about getting it up and running. For Jim, it is an ARF kit, Somethin' Extra. 😃 He's had one before and liked it a lot.

Someone in my blog
asked about the root vegetables
and how I cooked them.
Found at Walmart, frozen section
and first cooked in the microwave
and then fried in butter.
Yummy,

At 4, Bill took Gibbs for his walk, his long strides versus the little puppy dog short ones is quite cute to see. They both move in sync, which means FAST. Man and his dog. *sigh* 🦮🚶‍♂️I stayed home and started my blog. By then, th temperature was an aweseome 72F/22C, clear skies.

The chops were perfect,
and the cranberry casserole too!

I didn't take pictures again today but sometimes I'm not seeing things worthy. Ha ha, For supper, Bill bbq'd pork chops and I made some rice with mushroom soup and decided on Waldorf salad instead of vegetables.  We were eating by 5:30 so we could watch a Christmas movie together.

Good night!

It has been a great day! I hope you can say the same.

I saw this earlier today
and thought it was so cute!

Thank you for stopping by.

Enjoying What we Have (weather included)

Park Place RV Park

On Friday, Nov. 28th I knew I'd had another good sleep when I woke up at 5:30. It was 10:30 when I went up to bed last night and dropped off quickly. Bill and Gibbs were already in bed and pretty much asleep. Only Gibbs moved positions, up between us.

Good morning!

I stayed in bed, dropping off again until 7:10. After my stretches and getting up to make the bed, I knew my sciatica was still 'hanging around'. Drat! Instead of pushing myself for the short walk around the park with the ladies, I made myself a tea and went up to do some blocking. That worked.

3 dishes of cranberry casserole
2 for the freezer

Waldorf Salad
I will definitely make this again.

Bill left for the field and is quite happy that Ken is now going.,I'm sure they are enjoying themselves. I stayed in my lazy, lounging clothes and instead of thinking about the puzzle in the clubhouse, I worked on my greeting cards. Gibbs and I got out for a walk to the corner and beyond into the desert.

A walk to the desert today.

Last night, I watched NO tv, working away at the table. I'm having fun with these! I managed to have 4 finished, quite quickly by the time Bill got home at 11:30. He set his plane battery to charge and came in for lunch. Lunch, as you've probably learned, is not a big deal around here.

Riding out to Roadrunner

When we finished our sandwiches, yum, (melted cheddar w/cucumber), we drove to the post office to mail a parcel to Canada. I wonder what it is? 😉 Bill came home from flying this morning and told me that Ken invited us to Happy Hour at Roadrunner BLM at any time.......so we decided today was the day.

Gibbs was very good at Happy Hour
off leash.

Cheers!

It is only fair that we do the drive once in a while. We left the park at 2:30 with our cooler and drinks and arrived about 15 minutes later. They are in a familiar spot, a spot that Tom and Deb just recently left. Once you find a good one, you try and nab it each time!

A drop in at Happy Hour

Tom and Deb were out on a ride in their Jeep so popped in briefly for visit before heading home. We didn't stay much later and when we left around 5, the sun was on the verge of setting behind the mountains. It is pretty out there.

The shadows were getting long.
So was someone's tongue.
🐶

I captured a picture on the way back on I-95, but I'm surprised the Indian is still sleeping! For supper, we had cod and Bill had fries. I had butter-fried root vegetables (parsnips, carrots, beets and turnip) and oh my, they were delicious. We cleaned up the pans and watched a movie together.

As we were leaving, I tried to get the
sun setting.

I miss the Saguaros so coming
out here satifies that for me.

The Sleeping Indian
from two on our way home.

This was a great day. 74F/21C and full sun. Gibbs went with us to Happy Hour and although he whined the whole way there, he was off leash and the best little guy. He found shade, of course, but seemed quite happy. 💗

Supper was very good.
Good night!

Thank you for popping in today!

And Indeed, We are Very Grateful.

Park Place RV Park

On Thursday, Nov. 27th it was wonderful to wake up, look at the clock in the stillness of the bedroom and realize that it was 6:20 and everyone was still asleep. Big sigh, it was a great sleep. 😴

Good morning!

Bill got up and took Gibbs out for his early walk and I followed by 7. Getting up, I mean, not the walk. 😂 I had some steel cut oatmeal with cream and after Bill left for the field, I  began preparing the Cranberry Casserole I was taking to the dinner.

Sometimes, things just don't work
like they are supposed to!
Into the garbage it went but it
did get the core out!

All ready for the oven.
It was a success, as was the
Waldorf salad. 😊

I didn't cook it until later in the afternoon as I wanted it semi-warm. I worked on some greeting cards and it felt good getting back into my hobby. Kim surprised me yesterday with another full bag of design paper! OGh my, I love the choices I have now!

Gibbs and I went for our
afternoon walk

Gibbs and I took a walk to the corner of Riggles and Quail Trail, greeted Sue and returned home to do more quilling. Bill was home from the field at 11, did some 'plane' stuff and had a bite to eat. I had a banana to tide me over until meal time.

I can't get good pictures
through the screen, but
we have a visitor now.

I mixed up the Waldorf Salad, first time ever, and was pleased with how it turned out. Bill had his snooze and then showered while I began cooking the casserole. Hmm, 30 minutes at 350F my eye!! By the time it was done enough, it had baked for about 75 minutes. Good thing I started early!

Lots of main dish foods
on the pool table and
plenty of desserts too!

Ken and Kim arrived around 2:30 and at 2:45 we all walked over with our food dishes for Thanksgiving dinner at the clubhouse. It is never a big crowd but there sure was a lot of food from the small group of about 20 diners. What a selection!

Friends of the round table.
Bill was taking the picture for me.
Apparently, someone put Patsy in
the corner. (wait, I think Patsy did!)

Lots of food but
I wasn't overstuffed.
Ham, turkey, potatoes, gravy, dressing,
candied yams, green bean casserole, pasta salad,
root vegetables, broccoli salad, deviled eggs,
Waldorf salad, relish tray.
Pumpkin, apple, pecan and pineapple pie
plus cranberry casserol for dessert.

There were 6 of us at the round table and we had an enjoyable time with friends. It is nice for me, knowing many of the guests by name now and not feeling like an outsider. 😀 I'm not even sure what time it was when we walked back home with our leftovers.

I didn't know which way to look!

I put the food and dishes away, Bill took Gibbs for a walk and we met over at Tom and Debs' for a shorter Happy Hour. At least until the sun set, and the sky around us was a gorgeous shade of pinks and purples.

It was a lovely evening sky
but I could feel the cool air settling
into my body at 6.

Bill and I have a lot to be thankful for. This lifestyle, our family, our Canadian and American friends, and the opportunity to enjoy the warmth in the southwest climate. We do feel grateful also for our health and the kindness of those around us. Our second Thanksgiving dinner and even more blessings.

Last year's Thanksgiving evening.

We settled in for the evening and relaxed. No need for another meal! We reached a mild 73F/22C today, a partially cloudy day but oh, those clouds were purty!!

Good night!

Thank you for your visit! If it is your holiday, Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for letting us share it with uou.

Coffee, Puzzle, New Friends/Blurkers, Surprise Visit

Park Place RV Park

On Wednesday, Nov. 26th I woke up early again. It was 3:30 and I just couldn't get comfortable enough to drop back off again. Darn! Somehow, around 5:30, I dropped back off until 7:20. I did my stretches while Gibbs played hide and seek.

Good morning!

He noses himself under the covers on Bill's side and waits for me to ask "where's Gibbs?" After I ask 3 times, he squirms his way back out and looks at me. "Here I am!" Such a darn cute moment. There is just no way, me without my phone, to capture it on 'film'. 💖

Another clear sky day.
We're in Quartzsite!

I was up and out the door at 7:45 to meet the ladies for our walk. When Diane was late, Sue and I walked to meet her and that is when my sciatica reared its ugly head again. My right leg felt like numbness was setting in.

We're getting closer and closer.
It's a really nice puzzle.

We made the walk very short and I came inside and did some blocking. After 5 minutes, I was golden again, yay! Strange how it just decides to make an appearance whenever it wants. I must be aggravating it somehow.

Early Happy Hour at our
neighbours.
L to R
Kim, Melissa, Lyle, Ken, Bill,
Tom, Deb.
(sorry Lyle about the humming bird feeder)

It was just before 9 when I walked over with my tea for Coffee hour. It's tea hour for me, but no one needs to know that. Ha ha. Sue made homemade cinnamon rolls, oh my goodness! They were delicious! I had a couple of pieces and brought one home for Bill. He's spoiled. 💕

It was a nice surprise to see
Rose and George.

I stayed and worked on the puzzle until noon and took Gibbs for a walk before we met Bill back at home. My leg was still fine for which I was grateful. After our sandwiches, I did a bit of quilling prep for cards and Bill and Gibbs had a wee rest.

George and his cousin, Dan,
chatting with Tom and Bill.

We walked next door to meet friends first of Tom and Deb's, acquaintances of Ken and Kim and also Canadians from B.C. Always nice to meet Blurkers (blog readers) and put faces to names. Melissa and Lyle seem very nice and we got to get to know them a bit. 😊

Looking to the east,
the pink mountains start closing
out the night.

We were surprised when friends, George and Rose dropped by with his cousin, Dan, for a friendly hello. We all know these two from Lake Havasu and it was great to see them and catch up. We parted ways at 5:30 and Bill grilled sausages on a bun for supper. They were perfect!

They didn't take long to cook
and they were yummy.

Survivor started at 6 and we were just finishing up. Perfect timing. I wonder who will go home tonight. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the U.S. so I've planned my two recipes for the dinner at the clubhouse. It will be nice to be together for that.

This has been a good day, reaching 75F/25C again. Perfect weather! I hope I sleep better tonight.

Our pretty little boy almost
blends into the floor tile.
He needs a hair cut.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by!
