Slow Decline

 Park Place RV Park

On Thursday, Nov. 6th I slept solidly (the best kind) until 6 o'clock. I was able to remain in bed, in a semi-comotose state for another 30 minutes before I was even thinking about getting up. I think it was 7 when I finally was up, dressed and ready for the day.

Good morning!
Advertising our park sale
on Saturday.

I felt great though and was eager to get comfortable with this 'learning' routine. Bill and I had our breakfast, topped up Gibbs' dishes and left him in charge again for the morning.

Our canopy gazebo
arrived yesterday.

Bill and I did our walk through before 9 so it was done and clean when Sue arrived. No, not kissing up, just doing what we feel is proper. 😀 We were always a minimum of 15 minutes early on any job we've had, so this is no different.

Bill had a harder job than I did this morning, he was going to weed some of the empty sites. Yes, weeds grow in the desert. Fred was out trimming palm and other trees so they were both working in the hot sun.

Sue and I plugged away inside where it was very comfortable. It was a quiet morning, with just one reservation made and paying electric bills on the computer. All that 'quietness' will change come December, I'm sure, and January, without a doubt.

Trucks are lined up at the Arco
fuel station.
The diesel price dropped from $3.49/gallon
to this.

At noon, the boys were done and done in after being outside. There is no hard push on working when the heat is on and there is always tomorrow. We have one unit checking in today and another moving from one site to another. Gives the boys an afternoon break.

I took a walk to the corner
and across the truck lot,
the sun was just setting.

I took Gibbs out for a walk but he wasn't interested in going too far since Daddy was back at home. 💖We had sandwiches for lunch, ham for me, and it was delicious. There will be ham leftovers for supper too. Maybe tomorrow night we'll go out. I wonder what our friends are doing then?

Bill's Fedex box was left on our
patio

Bill and Gibbs snoozed and I started my blog. I don't feel tired at this time of the day so tried to be quiet indoors. We went back to the clubhouse and have to admit that it was pretty quiet for all of us. It's too hot for outside work, so Bill and Fred could bide their time close to, or at home until needed.

Inside the park, looking across
the dog park at the southwest corner.

I learned another couple of things today and seems the only thing I haven't done is answer phones. Bill helped a park guest move from one site to another and I was actually able to work on the puzzle for a while too.

Our new 'gazebo' arrived yesterday by FedEx and today Bill's parcel with some hobby stuff was delivered. The gazebo is not like our big one, just something to sit under for shade. The price was right. For supper, we have leftover ham, potatoes and a few veggies to share.

This has been a good day. I made my cup of tea at 4:30 after taking Gibbs for a walk. He isn't minding the shorter walks in this heat, does his business, sniffs at almost everything, and returns for home. 💘 I'm good with that too!

I actually caught it go down
behind the mountains tonight.

Last night, after Survivor, I found a program that I watched the first season of last year. Tracker is like a cop story, nothing deep, and I see that I've probably missed a whole season. I'm just picking up from Season 3. He and his brother are not hard to watch, at all. Teehee.

Easy preparation and
delicious result.

We are still at 90F/30C here for daytime highs so we are making use of our free electric and enjoying a/c throughout the day. Each day, we are seeing a bit more of a decline to cooler temperatures. Life is good!

Oh, yes! The pink mountains
across the desert to our east.
Good night!

Thank you for checking us out.

  3. It's nice to start in slowly at a new job. Oof, I can't tolerate the heat past 11 a.m. so I tip my hat to Bill and Fred. We have weeds here too, and I've picked a few out back. It's mostly pavement in front so don't see a lot of weeds there.
Definitely cooler in the mornings, which is nice!

    1. The mornings feel a bit cool at 55F and it doesn't take too long to heat up!
Funny how the weeds have grown so much after those rains.

  5. Well below freezing here in Saskatchewan with a dusting of snow where we live. Harvey got his block heater fixed on the truck so now both vehicles are ready for winter weather.
Have fun with the new job.

    God bless.
