Sikeston, MO
I think the long days are catching up as each morning I'm sleeping in until 7:30. I could probably just lounge there for another 30 minutes, but got up at 7:45. Things to do! Places to go! I'm looking forward to our 2 day (kind of) stay in Toledo. Bill was finishing the dishes and breakfast so I got washed and dressed before joining him.

Good morning! Leaving this beautiful place with hopes to return one day.
This was a really pleasant stay. Although short, we enjoyed meeting new people, hearing their stories and sharing ours. It was a mild 54F/10C when we pulled out at 9. Billy told us of an easier exit and it skipped the dirt road we took going in. That is why they suggest using our phone gps rather than the truck one. I just missed it on the way in. 🤭

My driver and back seat drivers.
They get me to where I need to go.
We followed Alldon Marie road to Cty rd 113, US- 64 to I-40E within mere minutes. It was a busier ride than what we've experienced so far. Lots of semi trucks which indicates just another work day for some. Bill handles traffic well, even though he doesn't like it. 🤷♀️

I have to admit to missing the sign
by 10 seconds so borrowed this off
Google.
We stopped at a Road Ranger in Brinkley, AR for fuel, getting our Mudflap discount, paying $5.03/gallon. Lunch sandwiches were eaten on the road, not feeling the need for another stop so soon.

Sikeston or Miner? I'm a little confused, but we're here!
The traffic eased quite noticeably once we took Exit 277 onto I-55N and soon enough we crossed into Missouri. It was 1:15 pm and 68F/18C under a mostly clear sky. We needed a pit stop 30 minutes later so pulled off into a Welcome Centre at Hayti.

Gibbs and I walked the grounds and I saw my first robin...2 in fact!
We arrived at our destination in Sikeston/Miner at Lambert's Cafe. It is very handy that there is J.R.'s RV stop right on the property and we pulled in, paid and found a pull-through site. It isn't cheap but the convenience of it makes it quite acceptable. No wrangling to get into a spot and the cafe right next door!

A pull-through. We are close but all just here for the night and a good, fun meal at the restaurant.
After a couple of walks, we rested until 5 pm when we walked across the lot to supper. No matter how you try to NOT eat too much, it still happens somehow. When he came around and asked if we wanted anything else, I almost said "yes, a second stomach, please".

There is so much to look at in here.
License plates from everywhere fill the walls.
Looks like we made it!
I left with a doggie bag with 1 large salmon pattie and some coleslaw. I only had 1 roll and was stuffed! We walked back to the Suite and Bill took Gibbs out for a walk. New sniffs, ya know! 😊

Good night
from
Sikeston, Missouri!
This was a great day, just the way we like it. We reached a high here of 65F/16C and will be dropping to mid 40's, about 7C tonight. Thanks for popping by! Don't forget to check out Bill's blog here.

Dinner looks great and hope the rest of your travels go well.
