Didn't Pan Out - Good!

The Ridge

On Saturday, May 16th we were up and sorting laundry by 7 am. The forecast for the day was that we would have rain by 11 and although the sky was clear first thing, it was very dark to the west. Bill loaded the clothes basket in Ptooties and I left at 7:15.

Good morning
after this gorgeous sunset.

I wasn't sure if he was going flying this morning but he checked the wind speed and decided to stay home. He had grass to cut and wanted it done before the rain. I stopped to fuel up and take advantage of .05¢/litre off my fill up. A deal for the weekend.

Keeping tabs on both Goose families

When I finished at the Mat, I drove across the block to Riverside Park for a DDH Plant Sale. This is the horticultural society so I hoped maybe someone would be offering tomato or pepper plants. I was disappointed to see very few sellers and all perennials. I turned and left for home.

The sky was cloudy for
a while this morning.

There were 3 garage sales in town that I stopped at and found a couple of things. One was Robin's friend, Cindy, who was using Robin's garage for her sale items. I found a nice 1,000 piece puzzle that had to come home with me.

Books from Robin

For $5, I picked up a little
tool kit for myself.
Replacing the one multi-screwdriver
that I've had for years.

Bill was finishing the front field when I returned and when Gibbs and I walked down a bit later, I retrieved a package from Temu that was in the mailbox. That was fast! When we were walking up the lane, Dragonfly delivery service pulled in with our new phone cases from Amazon.

Nothing of interest at the plant sale for me.

We don't buy these or the screen savers from Bell or kiosks anymore. Ridiculous prices! For $20 each, we have nice hard cover with built-in screen saver. Mine's orange but it is on my phone so I can't show you. 🤭

The cows in the north field across the road.

After a walk down the lane,
he collapsed. Time for a tummy rub.
The day was spent with me working on the new puzzle in the Bunky on my 'new to me' table. Loving the setup. Bill went to the end of the lane and did the necessary adjustment on our mailbox. We needed to bring it up to 45" and he did it quickly.

Mr. Ruby Throated Grossbeak
visited today.
He likes grape jelly too.

He worked on setting up his planes in the cargo trailer so it is ready for the morning. He'll be happy to join a few of his pilot friends at the club. As for me, I felt much better this morning and had no real sore throat while in town.

Gibbs and I had a fire this afternoon.
He's on security duty.

However, my voice had changed octaves and on occasion, it disappeared in the middle of a sentence. By late afternoon, I felt a little rougher so I went for a walk as far as M's. It is quite windy today but it was a blessing. The black flies are out.

Bill went back and forth
from mailbox to Hangar to the Suite
with Black Beauty
and Gibbs was the best boy,
sitting waiting without running
to the truck. 💕

The walk felt good but my head was feeling quite full. I didn't want to lay down so made a tea and went back to the puzzle.

The table is perfect, large enough
for 1000 pc. puzzles.

The mailbox has been raised.
The arrow points to our home, almost
hidden in the trees again.
M's home, no cars, no trailers.
Just plain weird to see.

When Bill came inside, I followed a few minutes behind and went upstairs for 30 minutes until it was time to fix supper.

One rhubarb patch is doing well.

Bill deep fried fries, I cooked fish filets on the stove and air fried onion rings. It actually all worked out that everything was ready at the same time. That is rare. 😉 Supper was good, the onion rings are delicious!

This is how far I got today.

Bill went to the Hangar and I finished my blog and will catch up on CIA and Ponies. It was a great day! We reached a wonderful 21.11C/70F and by late afternoon, the sun ruled the sky. We'll be dropping to 9.44C/49F overnight which will be comfortable.

Supper was very good.
Good night!
