This is More Like It - and We Like It!

The Ridge

On Monday, May 25th, we were well-rested when we got up. I guess I'm speaking for myself mostly, but we were all in bed last night by 10 pm! We finished the original Bosch series so have moved on to Bosch:Legacy.

Good morning!
Nice day, little wind.
Perfect.

The episode we were watching found us both falling asleep - early - so we finished it and went to bed. This girl is not used to the late hours she's been keeping! 😉🤭 It was before 7 when I got up and joined Bill downstairs.

Our peony bush
has buds, hard to see in this photo.

When he left for work at 7:30, I hopped in the shower. I had nothing on my plate today but was still overjoyed to see the lovely warm day. It took a while getting here, cloudy and foggy off in the distance but by noon, it changed.

Just admiring some of my gardens
and my glass creation.
Might have to make some more.

I had my tea and oatmeal and did some searching on Amazon for a couple of things I'd like to order. Gibbs and I went out for a walkabout and I'm happy to see my plants still standing tall, thanking the weather Gods for the lovely rain.

The Evening Primrose are
going to be lovely again
this summer.

I really didn't have anything to do outside, I could weed but didn't feel like garbing up against the black flies. They are visible as I look out the windows, waiting for me. Not today, boys, not today. Instead, I sat and prepared greeting cards for the upcoming month.

Gibbs and I heard and then
saw the road grader go down
our road again today.

At 11, I decided to take a quick run into town and pick up stamps for the summer and check out Dollar Store Dave's stock on Canadian flags. I was a tad disappointed that he didn't have the size we wanted for our berm flag but bought one for the mailbox post and to show Bill.

The view from my quilling
table.

I'll go back and get as many as I can for the fence posts along the road and the corral posts up near the Suite. At $3, we can't go too far wrong, everything has gone up. Back home for lunch, I had a poached egg and some feta cheese. Nice for a switch. (the cheese, I mean)

The outhouse seemed like
the appropriate place to hang
M's sign.
TCB
M was an Elvis impersonator
of sorts back in the day.

I worked on quilling finishing the two plastic hanging window catchers (?) and working on a couple of wooden projects. The breeze coming in the windows is light but refreshing. What a gorgeous day!

My job was easy,
holding the ladder

We reached a high of 24C/75.2F by mid afternoon. Bill was home by 3:30 (I think) and we went out to cut the two broken branches that have been there since we got home. I held his extendable camping ladder while he used his hand saw.

Both trees cleaned up
for now.
The one in the corral still needs
attention but we don't have the
equipment.

While he cut them up with the chain saw, Gibbs and I returned inside where the flies couldn't get us. I went back to quilling until supper time and my boys had their snooze. Supper was easy, reheated ham and mac & cheese with mixed vegetables. Bill's choice.

These were a challenge but
fun to do.

After clean up, he made his lunch and the evening ensued. I'll let you know tomorrow what we get up to. No major gosling sightings today, not sure where they all were. Just one small family in Gibbs' view from his (my) chair, enough for him to give warning. 🤭

Supper was easy and good.
Good night.

This was a really nice day and only the beginning of a few coming this week.

                         We've been watching a couple

                              of Kildeer drawing our attention

away from an obvious nest. Today,

this one did the standard broken wing

                               performance. I loved watching it!

Thank you for your visit.
