A Lovely Slow Day

The Ridge

It was 9:30 when i texted  Bill at his Hangar that I was going to bed. I tried hard to watch the last 20 minutes of Jack Ryan's episode but really had to argue with my eyelids! I know I dropped off immediately and it was 5:30 on Monday, June 22nd when I first woke.

Good morning!
I didn't realize this was happening last
night with the blinds closed until
I got up for bed.

Oh, I know I woke a couple of times from dreams but Gibbs was moving when Bill got up for a bathroom break. Go back to sleep, Gibbs, it's not time. He snuggled closer to me and plopped his head on my stomach, obeying. Such a smart little guy. At 6, they both got up.

And I almost missed these beauties
since it was after 9 I stepped outside.

I remained where I was, curled up with the blankets thrown off my shoulders. It was such a great sleep! Bill heard last night that he was off again today so with mixed feelings he planned his day at home. I knew my day consisted of..............nothing!

Yesterday when we walked down the
lane, I took a good look at our sprawly
apple tree.
I couldn't see a single apple.
Seems every other year we
have bounty.
I'm so glad we don't have the other
trees to deal with this fall!

After 2 full busy days, I was happy to just chill. Bill had his breakfast and went out to do the weed trimming. He had the back field fence line, the  berm, the corral and around our 'seating' area. it is the area where we hang with company etc.

 Bill cleans up the corral.

Gibbs and I went out shortly after 9 and I got out my paints. The little boy statue is wanting to be finished. 🤭 He wants colour! So, I worked at his face, hair, shoes and ball cap today. I'm pleased with how it is turning out. I will spray it when I'm done to preserve it as much as possible.

I noticed these ladybugs on some
new leaves where our branch broke
over the winter.

So, while I had my own thing
going on at the picnic table.

Bill finished the trimming and I went down to help him remove his Telemaster out of the cargo trailer. It is the really big plane he built a few years ago. I just had to take a picture of his line up of fliers as he had them set out on the grass. And I needed to tease him, a bit.

Bill was also doing his own thing.

I'm going to name them (I think)
L to R
Tiger, Cub, Something Xtra (small green one)
Carbon Cub, Bronson.
the big red one is his Telemaster.
You don't see the 4 that are tucked away
inside the trailer or the shed.
🤭
Could be the reason he still works?

The Richards' family were out all day, except when we came in for western sandwiches on toasted buns. Ooh, they were good! I need more eggs, will have to visit the neighbours, I guess, since he doesn't have a booth out at the road yet.

The two gardens in the corral
getting the supervisor's approval.
Looks awesome! 👍

Bill went back to the Hangar and Gibbs and I went back out to painting/supervising. I pulled our big umbrella out of the shed so I would have some shade from the sun as I worked. At least I had the option. Gibbs wasn't far from my side, in the shade, or at least within close proximity. 💕

His bed is on the left (sunshine)
He is on the right, under my chair.
(shade)

When he sleeps, he sleeps.

I packed things up at 5 with just a couple of clothing items to paint and we came inside until it was supper time.

Taking a break on the left.
Bill still playing.

The turtle managed to lay eggs
yesterday, but the skunk found them
overnight. 🫣
Just another picture of home on the hill.

I read a few chapters in my book and when Bill came up at 6, he lit the Weber to grill our sausages. He had his on a bun and mine was on my plate with squash. It was very good.

We hung out with Bill for a while
and on our way up, I saw the garter snake.
Gibbs ran over/around it without even
noticing. Phew!

This has been a really nice day, reaching 22.22C/72F with mostly sunny skies all day. Perfect! A couple more nights in the the single digits (below 10C/50F) and then it looks good for the next 15 days. Must be summer, for real. 🤞

I love the bright colours of the
Winter Geranium/Cranesbill.

Thank you again for the encouragement you gave me on my sales experience. I'm going to focus on greeting cards again to get ahead of the demand. Ha ha, my demand, they might be my best sellers and I have a big family! 🤭

Yum, it was delicious!
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.
