The Ridge
On Thursday, June 4th it was one of those easy, slow risings for me. It was 7 when I came downstairs, with Gibbs and his deflated 'doggie'. Bill wasn't in a big hurry, Billy wasn't picking him up until 7:30. Bill will pick Black Beauty up on his way home tonight.

Good morning!
My two favourite buys
in the whole world.
💘
Another hot day on the horizon, hottest yet. We'll take it and nary a complaint from this gal! We have a/c if and when we need it. Having windows on all sides of the Suite really helps us up here on the Ridge. No shade, true, but we do alright.
When Bill walked down the lane to meet Billy, I made my tea and Gibbs and I relaxed while I played my games. Sometimes that can be frustrating, not relaxing at all! 🤣 But I do enjoy the challenge - when I remember and do not get distracted.

He just realized I had my
camera out.
Time to pose!
Today, I was going to do 4 things but only 2 panned out and a new one fell in line. My plan:
#1 was to make a birthday card for my oldest granddaughter on Bill's side. (✔️)
#2 was to vacuum the Suite really well (✔️)and wash floors. (✖️)
#3 was to get in touch with a seller on Marketplace near me to arrange pick up of a rain barrel. (✖️)
#4 was to buy bird seed (✔️)and tickets for an upcoming event we want to attend. (✔️)I guess that's 5.
At 7:30, Robin texted from Nfld asking if I could clean the bnb today or tomorrow morning. Of course! I chose today, my normal time. I started on the greeting card before getting washed, making a coffee and heading out just before 11 am.

Driving to Williamsford
just wispy clouds.
The previous guests were there from Thursday night until Tuesday morning so I didn't know how it would be left. Let me tell you, these guests were very considerate. They did use 2 beds (only 2 of them) but had stripped one bed, put all their towels in the basket and I almost think they swept the floors.
The garbage cans were all emptied and outside in the bin, all dishes were done and put away (if they used any) and they didn't touch any of the 'free' stuff Robin has us put out. Granola bars, cookies, candies, water bottles and popcorn. Great guests!

This is the event Bill and I
will be attending.
A night out, it's been awhile.
I did take the extra time to dust everything and take the mop to the ceiling corners. A few Daddy long legs hanging out there! I was all done in 2 hours. On the way home, I stopped in Durham and bought our tickets for a tribute show in July at the town Legion. Looking forward to that!
I bought an 18 kg bag of birdseed for a great price and Josh from H.Hdwe kindly carried it to Ptooties for me. So, when I returned home, I didn't feel like getting the big vacuum out. Instead, the Dirt Devil did the job and they didn't get washed today. I did clean the bathroom cupboards, sink, toilet etc.
The grey tank needed dumping so because things have changed since our work in the winter, Bill called with the oh, so simple directions to care of that. Now that I've done it again, I'll remember. I'm terrible with stuff like that unless I actually have to do it myself.

Instead of showing you the card,
these are the birds singing to me
yesterday. all within 2 minutes.
Then, I was able to finish the greeting card. I'm quite pleased with it. Her birthday isn't until nearer the end of the month so I'll show it then. She'll be 19 so I hope she appreciates it. 🤷♀️ It did indeed get hot today, 27.22C/81F with NO humidity for a change.
I got out and watered my vegetables but our rain barrel (my source for water) is below the spigot line so I had to steal from the pails at each corner of the Suite. They collect rain from the small eaves. I have to do something for when it doesn't rain for days on end. Hopefully, tomorrow that will rectify itself.
Bill was home with BB at 5:30, tired after a long day. I know he doesn't like to delve right into eating so I held off until he gave the word to start. Tonight, we pretended it was Shrove Tuesday and had pancakes and sausages. I made my keto recipe for me and regular for Bill.
Supper was good.
I love these keto pancakes
although the maple syrup defeats
the purpose! 😂
Can't go wrong, with butter and maple syrup as toppings! We cleaned up the dishes and Bill relaxed. I knew he'd be asleep in minutes........the joke is more like 'seconds'. We finished Bosch Legacy last night so not sure if we'll find something else to watch together for a while.

Gibbs keeps an eye while Daddy
rests his eyes.
This was a busy enough day, but really a great day. I hope you can say the same. Lots of narrative but very little pictures. Sorry. We've been hearing about possible sightings of the Northern Lights tonight and tomorrow night...........so, I'll be watching!
On June 4th, 2019
we had a similar forecast.
Good night!
Thanks for checking us out all the same!
