The Ridge
It was a warm morning on Monday, June 8th when we got up. Middle of the road temperature around 13C/55F. After Bill left for work at a different location in Listowel, Gibbs and I rolled over and remained in bed until 7:30.

Good morning!
A blurry 'after sunset' picture.
I got up, had some cereal with my tea and sat to do some quilling. I had a nice messenger chat with my one and only daughter learning a few things about my former in-laws and the twins progress before we toodle-oo'ed off. Voices would be nicer but she was at work. Each chat with my offspring, voice or text, is valuable. 🥰

While I crawled along and weedeed, Gibbs found shade. Still always watchful though.
At 10, I pushed myself out of my chair, dressed for outside (with nylon pants over my shorts for grass crawling) and gathered the garden tools I needed. I definitely HAD to do some weeding. The berm garden is overgrown as is the large garden along the driveway bend.

You may not notice much,
but I sure do!
Tall grasses spread across
this whole ground cover.
It is mostly just grass, growing up through my phlox, periwinkle and winter geranium. Drives me nuts. I had a good mind to dig it all up and start over but who was I kidding? 🤭🫣 So, surprisingly, although it seemed like hours, I was only out there until shortly after 11.

Finishing up by crawling under
the spruce trees.
I'm so glad I cut those lower
branches off last summer!
I'm happy now.
I managed to finish both to my liking, patted myself appropriately on the back and came inside with Gibbs. He followed me everywhere, finding shade and keeping watch. Where would I be without him? Unprotected from creatures and villains, obviously!

Before you go thinking I'm the only
one who exercises in this house.
Doggie was really getting into the
yoga move 'downward dog'.
🤭I just realized how funny that is!
We sat on the 'patio' until lunch time when I came in and made a coffee and a half sandwich. Yogurt and cheese fill the empty spots and I was filled. Two of my sisters and I made a video messenger call to our oldest sister. Cathy is turning a special age that deserves her sister's teasing. 🥰

Happy Birthday, Cathy. L to R Patsy, Donna, Aj, Gayle, Cathy
I went back to quilling until 1:30 when we walked to check mail. No Canadian Tire flyer, hmm. 🤔

I can't remember which homemade card
I sent Cathy, but couldn't help but
tease with the inside message.
Love you sis!
When we tried sitting out, I could relax but Gibbs was too busy watching and chasing Chippy(s) and a small red squirrel who has moved in somewhere up here. We've never had squirrels before.

We walked to retrieve nothing from the mailbox. She was very late today.
No sign of our geese but lots of evidence of them in the laneway. At least Gibbs knows now to walk past it.We came inside and I went back to making something of my cd's. I think the drink coasters will work just fine once I Mod Podge them. I just have to get creative to make them look interesting. 😉

My gate garden is too full. I need to get smarter, not much of a gardener. I'll leave the primrose and remove the 2 hostas and the lonely tiger lily. Not sure how it got in there!
Because Robin paid me for the 2 plaques I made for Nfld and Manitoba's bnb, I did some online banking to keep the books straight. Bill's Quicken program acts up sometimes but I think I have it mostly figured out. I need to keep familiar with it just as a backup.

Buttercups down at the roadway garden. Didn't have the heart to pull them from the lilies. My tall irises will soon be in bloom.
Bill was home from Listowel at 5:20. It is an hour's drive which is why he took Ptooties this morning and will for the remainder of the week. He suggested burgers for supper but with only one left, I had a smoked sausage on a bun. I do enjoy them.
Gibbs and I sat in the shade
for a while before Daddy got home.
Again, watchful of those critters
until he got tired of the game.
💕

Plain but a pretty Gray Catbird

Another reason I love my Corabelle.
He made his lunch for tomorrow and went to get a bladder of water for our fresh tank.

This was a warm day, preparing for a line up of days filled with rain showers. From one thing to the next but hopefully our gardens will be thankful. And the weeds. LOL
The video below shows how taunting Chippy can be. Gibbs was on my lap, not 5' away. I think there is sound if you up your volume.
We did reach 26C/79F again today with even less wind. Lots of sun and enough clouds to make it pleasant. Still some critters but only in the afternoon when my bug spray seems to have worn off. They sure do like me! I hope you enjoyed your day as I did. Self explanatory video below. So cute!
Good night!
Thank you for the visit.

I really enjoyed your videos! What a magical home you have.
