And the Rains Came - Yay!

The Ridge

On Saturday, June 6th I woke to the same kind of weather I went to sleep with. Wet, windy and warm. I'm so happy for the rain and you know I don't always say that! It meant no flying for Bill, sadly, but my rain pails around the Suite and the rain barrel are getting filled.

Good morning!
Last night when Bill went to the Hangar,
this little guy slipped into dreamland
in Daddy's chair.

We had our morning brew together and I played my Wordle games. Since getting our new phones, we lost our Wyze connection to the 3 security cameras we have in the house. Bill was able to connect his a couple of weeks ago but not mine. Today, with the rain, he had time to dedicate to the task.

The rain makes everything so
GREEN!

It didn't work out as planned, it seems it is only allowing one device to connect now. He'll get it figured out. I just like to  keep an eye on Gibbs when I'm away. From that task, he moved on to installing our new ice maker. It has also been waiting for time and warmer weather.

Visitors today.
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
and
Chippy.

While waiting for the day to dry up, the rain had indeed stopped by noon, I got a new quilling project on the go. Getting away from the cards, I covered an old cd and decided to try decorating it. Just to see how it would come out. We had lunch and then I changed from my slouchies and we drove to Mount Forest.

Our drive to Mount Forest,
about 20 minutes,
the sky looked threatening
but it cleared out.

Bill needed a haircut. I can tell because it is starting to curl........he can tell because it is starting to bug him around the ears, neckline etc. I tagged along so I could pop into the Thrift Store. I've only been once with Pat and Dot and I was just as pleased when I walked in this time.

Back home, Gibbs does his
duty while keeping me company
in the Bunky.

It is an extremely neat and clean store. Well stocked and well laid out. I poked around, taking my time and picked up a few crafty things. Just as I was finishing up - a quick wander through the clothing racks - Bill texted that he was done. I checked out and met him out front.

Day 2 of the puzzle.
One more should do it.

At least I think it is him. He literally left the barber shop with a brush cut, except for the little bit on top. I've never seen his hair so short and even he didn't realize it until he was home and looked in the mirror. Oh well, as he says, it will grow. 🤷‍♀️🤔

Through our screen, hard to get
a good shot of another regular
visitor.
You can't see it here but he has a
tiny white tip on his tail.

Chippy, of course.
He's getting really good at
climbing the pole.

And for the first time, I put some
birdseed in these decorative containers.
Supposed to be candle holders.
A white crowned Sparrow found it.

Back home, he had a couple of outside tasks to do and took care of those. I transferred rain water from 3 pails to the rain barrel and then went to work on the puzzle. Gibbs spent his time between the two of us. When he was in the Bunky with me, he was at the door keeping an eye on Daddy. 💕

The sky cleared out nicely
by suppertime.

At 5:30 we came inside to start supper. Fish and chips for Bill and fish and leftover fried rice for me. It was very good and we were finished and cleaned up by 6:30. While I worked on my blog, we watched a Hallmark movie that Bill had turned on. Why not?

There might be a nice sunset
tonight - tomorrow's blog
if there is.

This was a nice day, 20.55C/69F, a bit cooler than yesterday but still lovely. The sun came out with mostly clear skies by 6. I think the rain is done for now, we have a few dry days ahead. I've enjoyed today.

Supper looked bland but tasted
great.
Good night!

Thank you for popping in.
