The Ridge
On Tuesday, June 2nd I heard my boys get up at 6. Bill has an inner alarm, like many I suppose, so is always awake before his phone goes off. I never think that I drop back off, it feels like I'm awake and aware. Not true. When I looked at the clock after Gibbs had come back to bed........it was 7:15!

Good morning! Last night's sky.

Sharing my share and he
leans his head on my back,
waiting for my attention.
I made my tea after he left and had that same euphoric feeling of *sigh, I have a day off*. I have more of those since M's passing, I would normally be 'semi-on call' in case he wanted to go to town. I admit that these days off are nice.
This morning, I had the plan to trim the last apple tree that I want taken down. Our clippers broke, my long-armed ones but are still usable to clip, just not extend. Well, they were usable. I think I finished them off doing the tree.

The goslings are growing. Four adults here. 🤔
I loaded the wagon and transferred the trimmed branches into the dump trailer. After putting that away, I put Gibbs inside and put on long pants, gloves and a ball cap. I sprayed myself and crawled through our fence to the neighbour's.
Anne and Adam gave me free reign to help myself to their humongus rhubarb patch. She doesn't like the fruit and he doesn't have an opinion. He says he will probably dig it all up. Wait!! It is getting close to going to seed so I pulled myself a full bag today.
I sat at the picnic table and cut it up, disposing of the leaves in the compost bin. Maybe 8 or 10 cups worth will be nice to have in the freezer. Bill said I'd better ask Adam to let me know before he destroys the plants and we'll go over and snafoo some for here. The more I plant, the better chance I have of it taking off.

That's us over there,

their property.
The sun is gorgeous and there is a decent wind, gusty at times, but this makes for a lovely day. Gibbs and I walked down earlier and deposited a couple of greeting cards and a sympathy card for Benno in the mailbox. Hopefully the cards will be on time. 🤔
I brought the rhubarb in for rinsing and made myself a coffee. I surprised myself that there were 16 cups, now all bagged in 4 cup lots and in the freeezer. I'll go once more for another batch before it has all gone to seed.
Bill called earlier and relieved me of a job I had to do tomorrow. Black Beauty has a recall on her rearview camera so I was to take her to Harriston tomorrow afternoon. He is going to take her first thing and Billy will pick him up on his way to work. Yay! Thank you both!
Gibbs and I walked again for the mail but there was nothing important. Gibbs wasn't in the sitting outside mood so he went in the Suite and I sat out in my gravity chair for an hour or so. I was very comfortable and it reminded me of Quartzsite, with no bugs. ðŸ¤

Lazy bum sat on the steps while I walked for the mail.
Gibbs came out with me at 3 and we waited just a few minutes before hearing BB slowing down and turning in the lane. Gibbs still go nuts with barking at his return but he waits with me until Bill is parked. Sometimes he needs curtailing, he gets so excited.

Gibbs waits on the shaded
step while Bill grills.
I planned burgers for supper and Bill readily agreed so I let them have their snooze while I went back out and played games on my phone. It's a time passer and hey, I was outside! Shortly after 5, Bill grilled our bacon cheeseburgers with Gibbs keeping a close eye.

And the bacon cheeseburger
is on my plate.
They were very good, no surprise, and filling. He made his lunch and I worked on this post. It was a really nice day. Getting to sit out in the sun was a plus for me. I do like being out there. 23.33C/74F is nothing to sneeze at.
Bill is happy that the chorus frogs are finally starting to quieten their songs but they aren't gone for good yet.

Last year on this day,
we had a full meal.
Now I want corn on the cob!
Good night!
I hope you had nice weather too. Thank you for popping by.
