The Ridge
On Thursday, June 25th Bill was up with Gibbs as usual around 6. No work today or tomorrow and Monday is undecided. 🤷♀️ I had to clean the Mat and I woke at 7 and did my exercises with Gibbs. However, the Jell-o jiggled.

Good morning. Three beauties today.
When I stood up to make the bed, I felt dizziness. Not a lot but I knew it was enough to throw a wrench into my early rising. I immediately thought of yesterday and how much water did I consume? I was guilty and that is always what causes this interlude of vertigo.

Like the turtles, I'd love to mark these little guys to know how often the same one visits our feeders.😂
I drank a full bottle and laid back down until 9. Good thing my job cleaning is on my own schedule. I didn't have to call to make excuses. 😊 When I got up, moving slower, I made my tea, drank more water and headed out at 9:30. The Mat was busy, which is why I like to go early.

However, today, it was 4 ladies - no men! That is an absolute first! They were in different stages of doing their laundry when I walked in to a dirty floor. We all chatted about the party that must have taken place last night. I felt bad I wasn't there early enough to have it cleaned for them.
I received a message from Robin, who got home late last night from Nfld, asking if I could clean the bnb sometime today. It has been a while because she's had longer term guests, so I said yes! No one was checking in until tomorrow so I could go anytime after 11 am.

Now, my gate garden makes me proud.
I came home for lunch and around 12:30 headed over, picking up fresh wildflowers at her house first. Both she and Andrew were taking care of their lawn so we had a brief chat. It took me a bit longer to clean, not because it was dirty, but Robin wanted a complete inventory of what was in the basement storage.

And the clouds produced and the rains came. Yay!
She has a book for comments from guests and there was a full page of suggestions for her. I laughed but was aghast at what some of them were. Took a picture and sent it to Robin, who is driving today. That means 'sitting, waiting' a lot. I knew she wouldn't mind. She was also stunned at the notes.

When the sun appeared, I looked to the southeast for a rainbow only to be disappointed.
Anyway, I finished shortly after 2:30 and dropped off garbage, recycling and some laundry (too much for the machine there) before returning to the Ridge. Bill and Gibbs were inside, just readying for a snooze. Glad I didn't wake them.

Bill was reading, Gibbs couldn't keep his eyes open.
The sky has been darkening over Hanover (northwest) with rain but when Donna messaged, she said they got 15 minutes worth. LOL I hope some precipitation comes this way in those clouds! I started my blog post and then sat at my quilling to finish a card that I'd started.

Cream of mushroom soup. Simply delicious. Yes, out of a can.
Bill suggested soup for supper and I just love him for that! Something easy and we can choose to have a sandwich on the side. I would make a keto dessert if I had time.......hmm, we'll see. Maybe custards. I searched for the recipe Nancy gave me to make them in Madame IP and went to work.

These individual custard servings always turned out perfect. Until today.
It only took a total of 15 minutes from beginning to end and we had a guilt-free dessert. I heated cream of mushroom soup and we had some Ritz crackers. Well, we started eating them and they were stale so they went in the garbage. I'm not a big cracker eater at the best of times, so I wasn't too disappointed.

Too runny but still tasty.
We had a dish of custard. I'm not sure if it is because I used fresh eggs or what but it was runny as if not cooked enough. That's odd, it always turned out perfect. I'll bake the last 4 for another 5 minutes and see if that firms it up. It still tasted yummy though!
Once the rain started at 4, we had 3 or 4 more bouts of it all evening. Our rain pail under the new eaves was overflowing really quickly (yay!) and I'm sure rain barrels are filling up just as fast. There is grumbling all around us but when the sun briefly came out in between the rain, no rainbow. Sad me.

Lots of puddles up here.
Bill washed the soup pot and set the dishwasher to run. I finished my blog and unless the rain stops, he will be spending his evening inside with his family. 🤭 Works for me, I like it when we watch tv together. Saying that, he may find one of his movies upstairs anyway.

He carried 3 pail fulls up to my berm garden barrel.
It was a good day and I made some cash without any undue effort. I am happy to work when I can. I hope you got rain, if you wanted it; sun if you wished for it; warmth if you needed it. I'm happy here!
We were up and down in temperature today, from 13.8C/57F to 17.7C/64F and back down again. We've discussed this run off each time it rains heavy but haven't been able to resolve it. It's a steep incline and gravel keeps shifting.
Thank you for stopping by. Good night!

Nice that you had rain today and you were a busy lady I wish I had your energy.
