Wonky Start to my Day, Pool Time

Yuma Lakes RV Resort

It was 7:15 on Thursday, Apr. 2nd when I first saw the light of day. It was a restless night because when I got up from watching Survivor last night to finish my blog................my back had other ideas. What should be the normal rising, was painful and I had a hard time walking to the island. 2 feet!

Good morning!

What did I do to cause that? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING out of the ordinary. So, I took some Tylenol, tried stretching and then went up to do some blocking. Everything had me biting back pain yelps, so I ended up laying flat on the floor upstairs for 10 minutes. That did help as did Gibbs' hugs as I lay there. 💖

It didn't go away so rather than sit back in a chair where I was uncomfortable, I went up to bed and did my morning stretches. When I could find nothing to watch on tv, it got turned off and I tried to find a comfy position to sleep. Eventually, something worked.

Interesting clouds

When I woke this morning, with a lovely breeze coming in our windows, I felt no pain in my back! Yay! However,..............when I sat up after 7, I was dizzy. This hasn't happened in a while and I realized that my water intake yesterday was lacking. Duh! I know better.

I ended up spending the next 3 hours in bed, drinking water and sleeping. Bill took my bp but it was normal so no worries there. At 11, I was up and fine so made some toast and jam and felt normal again. LOL

Bill went out this morning, after assuring himself that I was okay in bed, and put the dreaded tire minders on the Suite's tires. I don't like that whole system, for obvious reasons, but he wants to use them since it was a fair bit of $$.

Bill got the air filter
changed this afternoon

He had lunch and settled for a snooze with Gibbs. I decided to go to the pool and see how the flies were. Ha! They were fine but annoying enough. I sat out soaking up some sun for 20 minutes, something I've not done much of this winter, and then floated on a pool noodle for another 25.

The pool, which I had all to myself,
(- the flies)
was lovely.

Before leaving the pool/clubhouse area at 2:30, I checked out the puzzle table. Alas, there was only a finished one sitting there and I wasn't in the right frame of mind to start a new one. There was a poker game going on in the other room, so I slipped out.

So in this order L,R,BL,BR:
Where is Daddy going?
Watching BB leave.
Notice the slight head turn, watching him disappear.
He's gone, Mom.

Back home, Bill changed Black Beauty's air filter, even though it didn't look too bad, and went to the water station in the park to fill up our water bottles. Now, we are good to truly head out for our journey home. For supper, we had fish and chips. We were connected to power so used the deep fryer.

Walking with Gibbs

There is a lot of originality
in this park.
These 'horses' are everywhere.

This turned into a nice peaceful day. The flies were a pain at the pool but no as much as here at our site. Bill grumbled after each outing, 'darn flies!!' I'm going to try and talk him into watching a movie tonight........if I can find it. We'll see about that. Today, our temps were hovering around 84F/26C, soon to rise again. Time to move on!

Supper was good

Madame IP perfectly made hard-boiled eggs for egg salad sandwiches this week. Gibbs and I went for a walk while they were cooling in ice water. I let him lead the way and we walked for about 20 minutes before suggesting we find Daddy. He is like Bill's drone - I say 'where's Daddy' and he finds him. 😀

Missed the sunset

Even here, we have pink mountains

My last 3 pictures are interesting. Dated Apr. 20, 22 & 23, 2018. Our 2nd year's arrival home to the Ridge. We stayed at the end of the lane 3 days until it melted enough to get up there. Funny thing, the temperature was very mild!

Here we sit, 4/20/18
We slipped crookedly so our good
friends, Rob and Pat, arrived to
tow us out. LOL

We walked up to the top of the Ridge (400 ft) to begin opening
things up. You can see why we can't bring the Suite
up here yet. We don't have 4-wheel drive.

And 2 days later,
Easter Sunday looked like this.

And we made it on 4/24/18.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

Taking it Easy Today

The Ridge

On Wednesday, Aug. 2nd Bill and I made sure to be up and active before 7 to say goodbye to Duncan and Patty. They were packed up and ready to go with a few minutes to spare for goodbye hugs and ‘see ya laters’. 😊 It’s bittersweet when any of our friends have to leave. We know they have places to go and things to do as do we, but we have such enjoyable conversations that they are missed. We feel blessed with each visit.

So long friends! Safe travels!

After last night's beautiful moon,
we had a pretty runrise

I'm enjoying my baked oatmeal with
plain Greek yogourt and blueberries

Every so often, Mr. Cardinal visits

I counted 52 dead after today's
rampage. I won!

After they left, Bill hopped on the mower and began cutting in the west field, which he believes it was starting to look like a ‘field’. 😊 Kim did say that it didn’t look anywhere near as bad as we were apologizing for with all the wildflowers. That is very kind of her to say but Bill is back to being a happy camper with his perfectionism back in play. You know what I mean, that long grass has bothered him a lot.  Gibbs and I struck out for our walk and what an improvement in the fields!

The wildflowers can be pretty if you don't
mind walking in the tall grass to get
where you're going. Like the clothesline.

Now this looks more like home

With it all cut nicely, both fields and the berm, we had lunch and then he could work on the finishing touches of ‘the project’ so he can take photos and write his blog. We had a few spots of rain early on but by 1 pm the chances of precipitation had dropped from 54% to 26%. Encouraging, although storms may pass through the area after 7 pm. Kim and I sat in the shade of their patio with our books and just enjoyed the afternoon until Happy Hour when we enjoyed even more of it.

Posing on his half of the chair.
I'm working on blogs between
up and down killing flies.
Gibbs never moved.

This morning, from the time I got up until noon hour, I killed 50+ house flies! It was absolutely crazy. I sprayed the screen door a couple of times to curb their desire to hang there until it opened. I know they’re ‘house’ flies but don’t they know that outdoors is better for them! Duh! I went out myself and sat with Kim to read. Gibbs is getting so good at just sitting under our chairs and not pestering quite so much. 😊

These wildflowers are at our neighbours entrance
They're pretty.

Are you coming, Mom?

My sedum is beautiful in its greenery

Ken and Bill joined us later and we put our books away to converse instead. We watched the sky go from clear to cloudy, patches of blue to very threatening looking dark clouds. We weren’t sure if we’d have to make a run for it at any given time so we put away the hammock and the flag. There is a storm forecast for around 8 so best to be prepared although the radar shows that it may be south and north of us. We hope.

Patty gave me a puzzle before they left.
Cute, eh?

Happy hour begins
Gibbs likes sleeping at your feet.

Pretty Kim

Ken gave me some much-needed tips on my tomato plants so I will remember that for next spring. If not, I know where he is and will get in touch. 😉 We parted ways around 6:30 for the evening and Bill grilled some bacon for our bltc sandwiches.

They were good on a bun for a change

With the leftover macaroni salad from Patty, it was a nice easy meal. We each had a ½ scoop ice cream cone just to finish the container of black cherry. Bill did his new exercises and then we entertained ourselves with tv and reading.

Looks like the storm clouds are moving north

With clearing to the west

Another good day here on the Ridge. I hope yours was just as good!

Gibbs sleeps under my chair.
Happy for the peacefulness. 💓
Good night!

Thank you for stopping around.

A No-Nonsense Kind of Day

The Ridge

On Sunday, June 26th, Bill and I had already decided that we weren’t going to get involved in anything too strenuous. How’s that for planning? Ha! Well, to start off, it was 8:00 when we woke up. Gibbs had been out at 6, which I didn’t even hear, but we all went back to sleep. After a busy week consumed by keeping time on this, that and the other thing, it felt great to not have to do anything at any given hour. I didn’t put my watch on. 😊

This morning, I forgot to look at my
Moonflower so missed the blooms
There are more to come so I hope I remember
in the mornings to come

Of course, there were a few things that I wanted to do but they were small jobs. It was cloudy but surprisingly (or not) the weather man was wrong. The rain that was forecasted yesterday for this morning didn’t happen and even though it was later to happen around 4, the sun was out by then and it was lovely. Mind you, it was very humid, enough that we closed windows and turned the a/c on to 23C/74F.

The fencing is in place. If the ground wasn't so
rocky, the posts would be standing straighter
but it will work and I can step over it to do what I need to do

We went up and finished putting the chicken wire around my garden and then I watered all of my plants and filled the bird feeders. Vegetables and flowers. Gibbs ran around with me, sticking pretty close to where I was, so a good little boy this morning. Bill had a small piece of counter top that we got from the Mat so I lent a hand with attaching it to the Hangar as an outside shelf. After the a/c was on, I vacuumed the Suite. It was so dirty!

Gibbs was quite happy indoors too

Lastly, I went up the berm, with Gibbs, stepped into my garden (over the 2’ fence) and planted my 4 egg plants. They look healthy but I hit so many rocks when I dug that I’m wondering if they will produce anything. All I can do is try. Next year, I’ll get Bill to use the tiller again for me. Gibbs was confused as to why he couldn’t get in there with me but it worked perfectly for me. I gave them all a good watering.

Look at the colours of these pieces

We had something to eat around noon, just toast and jam. Bill went to the Hangar and I took Gibbs out to the Bunky where I worked on that darn puzzle!! Man, is it ever a hard one! The colours of the pieces are different than what the picture is and they are all quite similar. Oh well. I like challenges, right? Haha. Gibbs was on his rope and behaved so well, that I rewarded him a few times with his favourite little treat bites. 😊

Then look at the picture on the cover
Maybe it's me but tmany look to be in the
same colour palette

For supper, at 6, Bill grilled Italian sausages and we had them in buns with some Black Cherry ice cream for dessert. This was an excellent day. Just the right amount of work, to keep us moving. I feel rested and ready to start another week. It will be a short work week for both of us with Friday being Canada Day and a fun day with Bill’s siblings.

Now that's a long sausage! It was very good.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit! I hope your weekend was just as enjoyable.
