Poker Pool, Trying to Keep up the Walks

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Feb. 23rd we both woke up at 6:20 to the sound of Gibbs about to be sick. We react quickly mainly to get him off the bed and onto the floor, just in case. Often, it doesn't happen on time but today it did.

Good morning!
Do you like the Angel?
My active imagination is running havoc
with the clouds these days.

It could be any number of things that upsets their tummy but Bill got dressed and took him for his walk and he was just fine. I went back to bed until 7:30 and enjoyed every last minute of that. Bill got ready to go flying and left before 8, I think, as usual.

I've reverted to putting Gibbs'
harness on when we walk and it makes
the world of difference.
He stays on the path and doesn't get
tangled in the leash.

I hopped in the shower before I had my tea, forgetting completely about yogourt. Gibbs and I went for his walk around the block and I could feel that it was already warming up. At 9:20, I took my stick over to poker pool.

Tom and Deb left this morning.
Deb went ahead with the Jeep.

We were all a bit slow arriving today but although we were missing Anne Marie and Linda, 5 of us enjoyed ourselves. One game was unreal. We were all down to one card and we were all holding the 8. When Angie pocketed the ball, we all went out at the same time. That has never happened! 😂

These are so good and mine was
still keto! We'll do it more often.

Bill was making lunch when I got home a few minutes past 12. An old favourite that he mentioned the other night. Cheese and bacon on buns. We used to do them in the oven but since we don't have an 'oven', persay, he figured out a way. They were delicious! I had mine on 2 pieces of keto bread. Yum!

A couple of hours on the puzzle made
a big difference.

Gibbs and I took a short walk.
He didn't like the heat and kept going
to the shade. He gets a hair cut next week!
Just in time.

I have a correction from last night's post. I said that we were likely going to have chips and cheddar cheese as a snack later in the evening. When 8:15 rolled around, we both averted our cravings and skipped the snack! I was so proud of us. Bill had a yogourt and I had one licorice stick. No promises tonight though. 🤭

I haven't walked this way yet
this winter.
It's a residential area along the desert,
best of both worlds.

If money was no object, I would buy
a house in the Arroyos community.
This one is gorgeous with her flowers
along the fence.

Alternatively, also facing the desert,
there is a Seniors complex, one floor
which is nice too.

I worked on the puzzle for a couple of hours and Bill and Gibbs puttered here at home. Our friends, Tom and Deb, pulled out today but we'll continue to see them over the next few weeks as they've only moved out to Roadrunner Blm.

Sometimes, life is just too hard
or we get old.
Losing these Saguaros always
saddens me. This one was probably
over 100 years old.

At 4, I took Gibbs for a short walk, his choice, and went for a longer one myself around the residential homes to the east. Now that I've started a bit of a routine, I don't want to lose track of it. We had grilled sausages for supper. Bill had his on a bun and we both had salads on the side. They were good!

Here, I'm on the home stretch.
The arrow points out the park.

It has been a lovely day. Warming, just like they promised. A high of 82F/25C today, just a tip of the iceberg for the next week plus. Works for me! We had a great day.

The salad is bland but it used up a
lot of my fresh veggies. The
sausage was grilled to perfection!
Tender, juicy and pink.
Good night!

Thank you for popping by.

Ladies Poker Pool!

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Dec. 8th I slept well until I heard Bill and Gibbs getting up at 6:15. I don't recall hearing them come back in and didn't wake again until 7:15. That was a nice sleep.

Good morning!
Poker pool was fun.

Bill left for the field and I had my banana and cream with a cup of tea. Lots of cream going on there, that is what keeps me filled until almost noon. Gibbs and I went for a walk and I was curious how he was today. It was great to see that he was back to his normal self.

The puzzle is getting closer every day.
Got the kitty cat done today.

We walked around the inside of the park and returned home just in time for me to grab my coffee cup and cue stick. It's Poker Pool time! Today, there were 6 of us to play. and that included Linda (from my previous quilling classes) and her friend. We had a great time even though I came in 5th. 😀

We found a place for the manger scene
in the clubhouse.

At noon, I returned home to Bill and Gibbs for lunch. I had a meat and cheese wrap for a change and when Bill and Gibbs dozed, I went back to work on the puzzle for an hour. I'd like to finish the puzzle over the next couple of days if possible.

We were sitting in the sun
for Happy Hour when a transport
arrived with a delivery across the lane.
We moved so it could use the site
to deliver the skid lots easily.

At 3, I made a cup of tea and Bill and I took our chairs to the 'sunny side of the Suite' (get it? 😂). We don't always take Gibbs to Happy Hour, he likes to be with us but we sit in the sun and he prefers shade. He happily takes his treat and goes up to the bed while we're gone. 💕

A small grouping today
but still a nice visit.

It was a nice chit chat for a couple of hours and we returned home for supper. First, Bill drove down the street to fill our 2 bottles of water and then lit the Weber. He grilled a pork chop for himself and inside I fried some calf liver for myself. Yum!

Supper was good.
Dessert was cranberry casserole.

We each had a vegetable and some mac & cheese. I have run out of potatoes, which are no better, but needed to have something on the side. Salads just don't do it for me BUT I should pick some up for nights like this. We cleaned up the dishes and settled in for the night.

Deb and Tom went to
Parker today and while there,
picked me up some Magnesium Glycinate.
I'm going to start this today
and see how things go.
Thanks all for the tips.

It was a warm 74F/22C again today but we're expecting a warmer 47F/8C overnight. There are some lovely warm days in the week ahead with full sunny skies. We are so fortunate and grateful for what we are being blessed with. It was a great day!

Good night!

Thank you for stopping in today. I always enjoy your comments.

Last Poker Pool, Parker for Food Stuff

 Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Mar. 10th we were all up by 7. Bill prepared for the flying field, had his breakfast and made his to-go coffee, and was out the door by 8. He isn't flying anymore but he still enjoys the social time with his friends while they do. I did a few of my exercises and had my own cereal and tea.

Good morning!

I was feeling pretty good so after a shower and getting dressed, Gibbs and I went for a walk. It was by 9:20 when I walked over with my cue stick to play my last game. 😒 Yes, I'm sad about that but it is time for us to prepare for our move. There were just 4 of us today but it was still fun. Sue had frozen the last 8 of her delicious cranberry orange cupcakes left from Wednesday's coffee hour and brought them today, in honour of my last day. Sweet of her!

The drive to Parker was uneventful

I know they didn't do it on purpose but I was the victor today, winning by a fair bit. 😃 Bill and I are booked into the park until April 1st but sometimes the Jell-o jiggles and plans change. We are pulling out on Sunday and moving to a membership park in Yuma until near the end of the month. It will be a trade-off, actually. Friends and games here for a pool and hot tub. Who knows? Maybe they play Pokeno there too!

Overside load is an understatement

Bill and I had lunch when I returned and then took a drive to Walmart in Parker. Our food stock wasn't bad but we did need a few things and we wanted to take advantages of their better prices. Bill also had his plane radio to ship off for some repairs and they have a parcel depot there. There was a decent amount of traffic on the way to Parker but not so much as upon our return.

There was quite a back up of vehicles
Sadly, the people at the back of the line had no idea
what the delay was.

There was a slow down in the west bound lanes due to the transport of a very long cement barrier. With the assistance of police presence it had backed traffic up for quite a long distance. We were grateful to have gotten ahead of it when we did. For the remainder of our afternoon, we sat together outside in the shade. The temperature had reached a hot 84F/29C and the breeze on the patio was wonderful.

He's not fooling anyone.
His tail was going a mile a minute.
Those eyes, pleading for a tummy rub.
Yes, he got it when Mom got down
on the ground with him.

For supper, we had our special bacon cheeseburgers and finished the first package of the sweet kale salad. We've grown to really love that bagged side dish! NCIS and NCIS:Origins were reruns tonight but we watched NCIS and then caught up on some news. It is getting quite frustrating to hear all that may affect our return to Canada and then our fall return to the United States. All we can do, is carry on with our plans and deal with whatever we can.

Delicious!
Good night!

This has been a nice day. Thank you for your visit.

Poker Pool Monday, Some Clouds Move in

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Jan. 27th we woke up to a wet neighbourhood. Yup, the forecasted rain came down hot and heavy overnight sometime. We didn’t hear it but everything was wet. Nancy and I met at 7:20, keeping an eye on the dark clouds that threatened more rain. She even brought her little umbrella as a back up. 😊 I had my hoody.

Good morning!
Smell the rain?
See the puddle?

It was a lovely calm, semi-warm walk and we didn’t get wet. We did, however, see a few little puddles but the air, oh the desert air! I love the smell after a good rain. Once back home, I had my cereal and Bill and Duncan left for the flying field a bit after 8. I hopped in the shower and then took Gibbs for his walk. I had to hurry him along when he began poking too much, I had a date with a pool table!

Clouds were the story today

I made my tea and walked my cue stick over to the clubhouse at 9:15-ish. Today, there were 6 to start and 5 to finish at 12 noon. We’re getting better, I think, as we finished about 6 games! Nancy won today, putting the rest of us to shame with her 7 points. I was next, 4 points behind. I think all of us one at least one game so that is always encouraging. 😊

With the warm sun, the roads and
puddles cleared up quickly

Bill and I had our meat, lettuce & cheese sandwiches together and after some fiddling with his plane, he had a couple of town errands to run. It gave me the opportunity to start my blog post for today. The clouds had cleared out by 9 but began coming back into play after lunch. White fluffy ones are acceptable but the cool winds have also picked up a bit.

Little wiggle bum leads the way

Check out today's winner!
She regains the title of
Pool Shark!

We’re in for a few even colder days, tomorrow being the worst of the bunch before a warm up next week. Dare I say, finally!!?? I did a vacuum and dust mopping of the Suite floors and then Gibbs and I went for a walk. Nancy had mentioned earlier that she would walk up to the store tomorrow for a few items. She doesn’t have a separate tow vehicle so unless we’re going, she’s a bit stuck.

It is a pretty picture but we're already
grumbling! hahaha

When Bill returned from his errands, I offered a ride to Nancy up to Coyote Fresh and Family Dollar, saving her a walk. She hesitated but accepted, feeling that she is putting us out. That is definitely not the case or we wouldn’t offer. 😊 She helps us in many ways so turnaround is fair play. She got most everything she needed and it didn’t take us more than 20 minutes, if that. Easy!

More clouds, of course

We agreed to start the next puzzle but sure did a lot of moaning over how difficult it looks to be! Ha! 1,000 pieces of torture! I’m looking forward to the challenge. When I told Nancy that my sister gave it to me, she said ‘what’s wrong with your sister?!’ Too funny, Donna, I’m sure it is your writing on the box marking it complete.

What can I say? I'm addicted.

At 4, we gave up and returned home. I showed Nancy where Gibbs’ treats, harness, leash and water dish reside. She will be keeping an eye on him tomorrow while the 4 of us take a day trip. We really appreciate it! We’ve reached a low high of 63F/19F today. For supper, we opted for fish and chips and they were tasty, as usual. This evening was an NCIS tv night, the new season has started. Yay! This was a nice day.

Supper was good.
I actually had fries tonight.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit!

Ladies Poker Pool, Lovely Day

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Jan. 6th, I was up and at ‘em by 7. It was still dark, with clouds over the mountains to the east, so I sat with Bill and Gibbs until almost 7:30. The clouds turned into another beautiful Arizona morning sunrise. I can’t get enough. I had a great walk, starting out at a slower pace. That seemed to make a difference for my return trip. My legs didn’t feel so tired. So, I made a note to myself. 😊

Good Morning!

And it got better as I walked.

I met Dolly and her master again and he obliged me by letting me take their picture. I can’t remember what mixture of dogs she is, but she’s beautiful and lets me rub her face. She’s so calm and I’m not usually a lover of big dogs. Back home, Bill and Duncan were readying for their morning flights and it was a calm morning for them. I hopped in the shower after saying goodbye to my sweetie, then had my cereal.

I don't know her Daddy's name,
but meet Dolly.
She is the sweetest thing!

I took Gibbs for a somewhat quicker walk, in a different direction, when I noticed time was running out AND when I noticed a man from Arizona Sun RV Resort was walking with his dog, off leash. Nope, not going that way or Gibbs would be pulling the whole way trying to catch up. His dog was obviously well-trained but that still doesn’t sit well with me and he was in no hurry to get moving.

My messy pizza/quesadilla for lunch.
Yummy!

I turned Gibbs around to the road and we walked back that way. At 9, I made my tea and headed over to our game. We started at 9:15 because of another event planned in there at 11. This time it was the Mesa lunch/sales pitch so we got 4 games in before vacating the clubhouse. Bette was the clear winner again and I was the clear loser this time. Woops! Bottom line was that we all had fun.

Another day (or two) and it should be done.
(maybe)

Bill nipped into town to check out some flag poles for the club and when he returned, we had lunch together. I made one of my messy, whatever I have, kinds of pizzas on a tortilla. They always seem to turn out very tasty so I enjoy them to the fullest. Bill had his sandwich, not into my pizza creations. 😊 It turned into more of a quesadilla anyway.

We needed milk and creamer so took a run into town and then one other little side trip to 88 Shades. One of the flyers from his club live there and Bill wanted to see him for something he was selling. We stopped at DG Market to pick up some milk, creamer and hot dog buns. Duncan and Patty gave us a pack of Nathan’s all beef wieners at Christmas and we wanted to try them.

Here, I was playing with the sun and the palms.

It’s turned into a lovely day, starting at a cool 41F/5C but already 68F/20C at 1 pm. Perfect with clear sunny skies. I went to the clubhouse to work on the puzzle again and it is going swimmingly well. 😊 Back home at 4, I took Gibbs for his walk and we had a nice long walk, bringing me over my goal steps. It’s nice when that happens without me even trying!

These 'buns' were not made for wieners at all
but they were the best!

For supper, Bill grilled the wieners and because there were only 5 in the pack, we ate them all! We picked up some Nature’s Own Brioche Butter rolls since that was all DG Market had but we are ever so happy with that! We had to cut them and I heated them lightly for 30 seconds. The best ever and they didn’t fall apart. It was a great little supper! No dessert required.

The hot dogs were excellent!
Good night!

We’ve had a great day! Thank you for your visit.

Ladies Poker Pool, Cool Start, Happy Hour

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Dec. 16th I was awake at 6:15 when I noticed Gibbs moving from down by my feet, up alongside me. 😊 Daddy was still sleeping and the little guy won’t bother him until he makes his first movement. Gibbs waited until 6:25 and after licking my face, crawled over to where Bill was starting to stir. I’m sure he has to piddle after his 8 hours in bed.

Good morning!
When I left for my walk,
it was dark enough that the lights
showed up nicely.

I slipped into my shoes and then headed out for my walk. It was only 7:05, so quite dusky still. It lightens up quickly, before I get too far, but I’m still glad I’m into wearing my white vest. It was only 41F/5C and didn’t budge from that until closer to 10:30. Gradually, these days are warming up so I won’t complain about the cool mornings too much.

The moon is ready to say goodbye

After my walk, Bill left for the field with Duncan and I hopped into the shower. When my hair was dry enough, I took Gibbs for his walk around the outside perimeter of the park. At 9:20, I walked to the clubhouse for Ladies Poker Pool. Two of our players are away for a couple of days so the 3 of us were glad that Sue chose to play today. Yay! 😊

I started a new puzzle but forgot to
take a picture of the box.

We played 4 games in 2 ½ hours so not the best players but we still had fun. Bill and I had our sandwiches for lunch and planned supper. When Duncan came over to work on the security cams with Bill, I took Gibbs for a short walk and then went back to the puzzle. Sue had a Christmas one picked for me for next week so I took a 750 piece over and started it.

I had a bit of a headache so came back around 2:30, started my blog and when the boys went up for a snooze, I went out to my chair in the gazebo to read in the sun until Happy Hour. Ken arrived from Tyson Wash around 3:15 and we enjoyed each other’s company until 5:30. I walked over to Bette’s trailer to check on and feed Kitty……….I couldn’t find her anywhere. She hadn’t touched her food from this morning either.

A pretty sky tonight all around us

I’m panicking, but at the same time wondering how she got out. Bette is on her way home from Nevada and didn’t sound too concerned, thinking she was hiding or if she got out, she’d come back. I’m not thinking the same way so feel quite bad right now. We came in for supper of a Turkey pot pie with fried mashed potatoes. Yum, they were pretty good. Patty topped off our meal by offering us a piece of her oatmeal cake. Now that was delicious!!

The pot pie was good and who doesn't love
fried mashed potatoes?

We watched a movie together, Hallmark, but a mystery – more my style. 😊 This has been a good day. We found out today that our Catch the Ace draw back in Durham was won on Friday night. Too bad for us but good for the fellow who won $23,355. It will start back up in January. I hope you’ve had an enjoyable day and didn’t lose any kitty cats! We reached a high temperature today of 71F/20C but it took its time getting there.

Dessert was yummy!
Good night!

Thank you for stopping around.
