Sam's, Ice Cream, Pool

 Yuma Lakes RV Park

On Sunday, Mar. 23rd we had an agenda. We were up by 7:30, Gibbs and I, and joined Bill downstairs for breakfast. The milk jug was almost empty, just enough for one bowl of cereal. I had a banana and a half that has had better days so I dumped the mushy mess into my Magic Bullet with cream and yogourt. That was MY breakfast with a creamy tea with coconut oil. Totally filling.

Good morning!
Safe JOURNEY!

Our neighbours were packing up but we knew enough not to bother them while in the process. As we all know, that is a lesson taught and learned early on during this lifestyle. Sometimes it is learned the hard way. 😉 When Ken pulled their Journey out of the site and prepared to hook up the car, I finished washing and getting ready to say goodbye. This has been a fun week and we each snapped a picture before they pulled out around 9.

I forgot to share this after our lunch
at Lin's.
I can't say my fortune cookie has it wrong.

Bill and I had discussed the grocery situation in the fridge and thought it was a good time to nip into Sam's Club to buy a few things. We stuck to our list (mostly) and were back home before 11. We relaxed until noon and around 12:30 had some toast and jam for lunch. It was Ice Cream Social hour at 1. Thanks to Ken, we got a dollar off our choices. I ordered a banana split today with the works. Shame on me!!

This is the kind of day
Gibbs had.
He was very comfortable

We walked back at 1:30 and the rest of the early afternoon disappeared. I stretched out on the couch and Bill in his recliner as we watched the tail end of a movie. When I got up at 3, after the movie, I realized that I missed Pokeno. Darn! The park has too much going on today, Pool game at 1, Pokeno at 2, LOL. Oh well, I'll save those pennies for the fall at Park Place RV Park. The ladies will take them just as easily! Ha ha. Right, Bette?

Ken won at Shuffleboard and got $1 off
a food item. Since they wouldn't be here to
cash it in, he gave it to Bill.
Thanks Ken!

I changed into my swimsuit and walked to the pool for a couple of hours. The temperature rose today to 91F/33C with very little breeze. The warm pool actually felt cooler than it was because of the hot air BUT that is the whole idea in my world. A couple of dips in between a couple of sit outs with my book and I was sufficiently.

The pool time was lovely.
It is a pretty park too.

With the a/c on back at the Suite, Bill was also comfy and our little fur baby was able to sleep without all the panting.

Today, I was searching for the date
when Bill and I were here and visited by
Elva and Jerry.
I came across this picture. It didn't mean
much then, other than a lovely memory for someone.
Today, we have friends, Jess and Jesse.
This is for them! 💖

Supper was a simple. Tomato soup with crackers will do the trick. The ice cream was a bit heavy. We watched 50 First Dates with Drew Barrymore just for kicks. We've seen it so many times that I can't count but we chuckle each time. It's a good one. This has been another good day. It was sad to see our friends go but we all have to leave sometime and we wish them a safe journey.

I also came across this picture
of me at Pilot Knob blm
trying to be creative.

By the way, if any of you make a habit of reading the comments, you would have noticed the one from yesterday. It was from Anonymous and without marking all comments 'subject to approval', some bad ones slip through. I have removed it and hope the 'troll' (as another reader so called them) feels better and moves on. 🤷‍♀️

Then I found the picture I was looking
for. Nov. 2022.

Good night!

Thank you for stopping by to see what we've done today.

Shuffleboard, Pool, Lakeside, Happy Hour

 Yuma Lakes RV Resort

On Wednesday, Mar. 19th I woke after another great night's sleep. Once again, I knew that I hadn't turned from my right side since I hit the pillow. After getting the hugs and kisses from Gibbs, I did my stretches in bed and got up. I joined Bill downstairs for breakfast and we readied ourselves for our 9:15 sign up for shuffleboard. Wow! There's a memory from our 2018/19 winter. The last time we played was at Pilot Knob RV Resort with our dear friends, Rob and Pat. 💖

Good morning!

We've had a visitor every day since we arrived.
Bill hung my feeder out on Monday.
This little hummer sits and drinks
for a long time.

So, there were 10 players again, which was a better turn out than George and Judy expected. It's like I had never played before as I didn't do very well. We did have fun though and I think my job was easier than George's by keeping score for everyone! 😊 We parted ways when Bill and Ken walked back home, Ken being the top winner of the day. I stayed and worked on the puzzle until noon.

Shuffleboard
Ken gives it his best shot
and came out the winner.

The scoreboard for my first game
is on the right. I was yellow.

After lunch, Bill and Gibbs snoozed so at 1:30, I walked to the pool. Another good time to go as I was alone again. I didn't use the hot tub, just spent some quiet time in the water and on the sidelines.

I guess it could be done tomorrow.

The clubhouse is nice with books, puzzles and games
in one room.
3 or 4 poker tables
and 2 pool tables
in the next room

Before walking back at 3, I meandered down by the lake here. There were some chairs along the shore so I sat and watched a few ducks swim by and walk up around where I was sitting. I'm not up on my duck varieties so only recognized the Mallard and maybe a Bufflehead.

These guys came right up past my chair
The Bufflehead couldn't figure me out.

These pictures turned out better
than I'd hoped.
It's very pretty down there by the water.

Back at camp, I took Gibbs for a walk up towards the dog park. There were 3 big dogs and 3 small dogs inside playing but Gibbs didn't seem too interested in joining so we carried on. Ken was on his way back from getting a fix on his car so we had Happy Hour at our site, moving from shade to sun before packing it in for the night. For supper I baked chicken thighs, boiled some potatoes and mixed up a salad (by opening a bag).

Walking back to our site.
Our road is to the right of the
blue water station

It was late by the time we were done cleaning up but on time to watch an NCIS rerun before The Floor came on at 7. Survivor was on next and we watched it while I worked on the blog. Today, was a great day. We had some winds, I believe the last day for a while of that, but we had clear skies and hot sun from 9 to 7. I'm enjoying being able to sit out and soak up some of it here. We reached 77F/25C today and that will be the coolest day in the next 14 days at least. 😁

A Sunday meal on a Wednesday. 😀
Good night!

Thank you for stopping around.

Getting Active, Beautiful Day!

 Yuma Lakes RV Resort

On Tuesday, Mar. 18th, I woke up feeling better than the previous day. All good news! Without making too much of a fuss about it, or getting too excited, I went about my day and made my tea and had cereal and banana. When my tea was finished, I took Gibbs for a walk around the front (east) end of the park. What a gorgeous day! We will be about 7 degrees cooler today than Monday but with sunny skies, that equals perfect!

Good morning!

Our love bug squeezes up in behind
Daddy this time.

Shortly after 9, Bill and I took our coffee over to the north hill where the bocce ball courts are set up. We joined others, totaling 10 of us, and played 5 games. There is a bit of variation of the game but nothing that discouraged us at all. It was just different until we got used to it. Ken had also joined us and although I think it was only 2 games that I won, Bill won 3 of his.😀 It's all for fun and that is exactly what we had. We keep saying that we need to set up a court on the Ridge but have yet to follow through on that.

It was a fun morning.
Tomorrow is shuffleboard!

Back home, Bill started working on a blog and I sat outside before taking myself for a walk. I wanted to check out the clubhouse again and see the pool. I was pleased to see a puzzle on the go although, I wasn't pleased with HOW it was being done. You know me, border first, border first, border first! Oh well, they had worked on the easy parts first so I had to do the border before settling in. It didn't take long and I was back home for lunch with Bill. I don't think this 500-pc. puzzle will take long.

Top picture made me grit my teeth. 😅
Bottom right is how I left it at noon.

I finished the soup and had a lettuce and cheese sandwich alongside. Bill dozed after lunch, as did Gibbs, and then at 2 I walked to the pool. Bill wasn't sure if he was going with me but decided against it. He isn't one for sitting poolside so stayed and worked on his blog. You can check it out here. I was alone at the pool until the last 40 minutes when an older gentleman came in and did his 30 minute water exercises. One lady who walked by said it was like my own personal yard. I wish!! 😂

This Aloe Vera plant is lovely!

It felt wonderful, the sun, the water and the hour and a half I spent. The park has replaced all the old hard plastic loungers with zero gravity chairs so I stretched out in one and totally relaxed. Maybe that was my downfall later but I enjoyed it while I was there. When I returned, Bill and I joined Ken and Kim at their site and had another entertaining Happy Hour.

It's a great pool and hot tub
Bottom picture, the horses are out again!
I love this creativity each time we come here.

At 6, I came back and started supper. Tonight is spaghetti with peppers, onions and mushrooms in the sauce and it was delicious. The leftovers are always nice too. ❤️ We cleaned up the pots and I settled in to finish my blog while watching some NCIS reruns until Doc came on at 9 DMT. Today has been a wonderful day, reaching 76F/25C, with some winds to boot. It felt quite perfect to me. I hope you experienced some warmer days where you are, even if only temporary.

Yummy!
Good night!

Thank you for popping by.

A Dig in Our Heels Day, Poker Pool

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Jan. 20th the day started out typically. Bill and Gibbs went out and Gibbs came back to bed with Mom. He has numerous toys, well, I should say ‘body parts’ of toys, on the bed and throughout the Suite. No, Michael, we haven’t taught him to put them back in the toy basket like Tango. 😊 So, he either goes back to sleep with me or chews on his loved ones.

Good morning!

I was up and out the door at 7:15, meeting Nancy for our walk. It was brisk and I can’t help but wonder how she can be warm? I’m layered up from a warm hoody, down jacket AND my poufy vest. Hood up, neck scarf and mini gloves. I need to be warm and she had her coat on. Complaints? None, we chatted the whole way and were back before we knew it.

Yup, another windy day is afoot

It was a chilly 37F/2.7C, with a clear sky and about a 1.5 mph wind. It was going to be a windy day again so another reason that I’m glad to get out early. When I returned, Bill was about ready to go to the big tent booth and I prepared to hop in the shower. He left around 8 this morning. Gibbs and I went for our walk, trying to catch up to Nancy and Cooper. His little legs can really prance along, we had to run!

At 9:15, I walked over with a Keurig pod and my mug with cream and Splenda to the clubhouse. Today, at Ladies Poker Pool we had 6 players until Bette arrived around 11 and joined in. They all love the game and the comradery of friends. Nancy were dragging the bottom by noon when we finished but we had fun all the same. 😊

My lunch today was hot and good

For lunch, I made chicken noodle soup from a Lipton’s packet and half of that filled me with some bread and peanut butter. I had popped the top down on the gazebo before I left for pool and it was a good thing. The winds increased mightily by then. Around 2:30 I went to start the puzzle and Nancy joined me before 3. We managed quite a bit and I don’t know about Nancy, but I came home hungry. See why?

We chose this puzzle today
I don't think it will take us long to finish.

Bill was home before 3:30 today; he and Tommy are taking turns with time off, which I think is great. Still no other real commitments from the club members to spell them off. Strange. He loaded a propane tank and went to get it filled before I returned home at 4. We watched some of Trump’s Inaugeration together and around 5:30, I started supper.

When we left the clubhouse, the winds
were really whipping from the north.
Gibbs didn't get an afternoon walk, just 'outings' as needed.

I turned the power back on, this has been another month of good sunny days for our panels, and used the convection oven. 😊 Pork chops, potatoes and a vegetable of choice were on the menu and everything turned out great. It was a good meal. After cleaning up, we watched more political tv, I finished my blog and then sat to relax for the evening.

Nancy and I should have tethered ourselves
together in that wind!

This has been a good day. Winds are reaching between 24 and 26 mph today but look to be dropping off overnight, back to normal. Only reaching 59F/15C (feeling cooler with the winds) was a disappointment but under sunny skies, we won't complain. It was -13C/8F back home today. Brrr!

Supper was good.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping in to see what we’re up to.

Trip to Mexico, Shopping, Different Kind of Pool

Pilot Knob RV Resort

On Tuesday, Apr. 2nd we had plans for a change. Well, plans for a busier day. 😊 We were up, washed and dressed, having breakfast before 7:30. I guess that is pretty normal for us.

I'm curious what you see.
This is where Bill's plane spends
the day time hours while we are parked.
I see an upside down fish-tailed man with white hair & sunglasses.. LOL

I took Gibbs for his walk around the park; a beautiful morning here in Winterhaven. There aren’t many guests here but those who are, appear to be very friendly and offer greetings.

Good morning
this is looking over our back fence

Bill and I left the park at 8:30 and drove to Los Algodones, Mexico. It was our last teeth cleaning this trip. Dr. Eva Urena opens at 9 and we arrived right on time. We were a bit delayed because of the slower line coming in. You now are required to show your passport going in and let the guard take a look into your bag. My purse is tiny so it was a quick peek. I went into the chair first and 30 minutes later, I was out and Bill was in.

The walk in and out of Los Algodones
The black wall always gives me pause

We enjoy what Yuma has to offer

Five Guys offers fresh peanuts in the shell
if you eat there

Is that my sweetie taking a bath? 💖

We had a couple of things we wanted to look for through the vendors ‘stores’ and then to the Purple Pharmacy for Bill to stock up on his cholesterol medicine. The price was crazy good and he’s good for a year at a ridiculously low price. We were able to walk through the turnstile and chatted with a couple from Kamloops, B.C. before showing our passports once more and we were home free!

Supper, finishing up the beef

The guard at this end just wants to see that you are who you should be and wants to know what you bought.  Since it was still only 11, we drove into Yuma and made the stops at Sally’s Beauty Store, Sam’s Club, Walmart and Arco. At noon, we had lunch at Five Guys. Their burgers and fries are great! Almost as good as Bill’s. Back home to our little man, we hung out (& dozed) until 2 when I slipped out and up to the pool.

Our back door view

This pool does not involve balls and sticks, instead towels, noodles and water. 😊 Bill joined me around 3:30 for an hour and I returned home once I was dry, around 5. It is so nice to get into a pool and a hot tub before we leave the area. We watched an episode of 9-1-1 before Bill took Gibbs for his walk and I started supper. Hot roast beef sandwiches and the last of the potato salad. We’ve had a warm day of 79F/26C and the sky has been clear blue.

Good night!

This was a busy but great last day here. We’ll be back in October. Tomorrow another new adventure begins!

Thank you for the visit.

Pooling Up and Warming Up

Park Place RV Place

On Monday, Mar. 18th we were up with the birds….well, the sun at least. I don’t know what time the birds got up. It isn’t like on The Ridge back home where we hear a lot of birds outside. Depends on where you walk here. 😊 I do use my Merlin bird app to distinguish one sound from another.

Last night after I posted
the sky put on a performance

I've been missing the good ones
but this made up for that.

It was a nice morning, 50F/10C, and a slow-moving one. Gibbs and I went for our walk and then I cut a grapefruit and that was breakfast for me. I always have some of my yogourt too, just not together. I was the first to leave the house today, at a few minutes past 9. I walked over with coffee cup and cue stick in hand to meet the ladies.

This morning's sky
was equally as beautiful

Poker pool today consisted of 5 of us. A small but lively group. 😊 All final scores were 8 or less so we walked away pretty pleased with ourselves. I finished second for those who care. (Lorne) It was 12 noon on the dot when we finished and I walked home to have lunch with Bill. He was working on another project, near completion, so I made us toasted omelette sandwiches for lunch while he finished. Another nice job too.

Started a new one.

We all sat together inside, me with my book and the two of them snoozing beside me. I actually closed my eyes too at one point and may have dropped off for a few minutes. At 2:15, I walked over to start a puzzle. This one is only 550-piece and with larger pieces, shouldn’t take too long. There was no indication on the back that the ladies had done it this past summer so I started in on it.

Our afternoon walk

At 4, back home, there was more sitting with a book, a walk with my favourite furry companion and then a plan for early burgers. Bill began grilling at 5:00 and we were finished eating before 5:30. Monday night is our show night and they start at 6 pm MT so we need to plan for them. After clean up, NCIS and NCIS Hawaii kept us entertained. Unfortunately, they were reruns this week so I worked on my blog at the same time.

Bacon cheeseburger for supper.
Never disappoints.

This was a nice day. We reached a lovely high of 74F/24C today with higher temps on the way.

A memory from March 18, 2022.
Happy Hour with Tom, Deb, Nancy,
Gayle and John at Roadrunner BLM.
Good memories.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping in. Your comments are always welcome.
