A Dig in Our Heels Day, Poker Pool

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Jan. 20th the day started out typically. Bill and Gibbs went out and Gibbs came back to bed with Mom. He has numerous toys, well, I should say ‘body parts’ of toys, on the bed and throughout the Suite. No, Michael, we haven’t taught him to put them back in the toy basket like Tango. 😊 So, he either goes back to sleep with me or chews on his loved ones.

Good morning!

I was up and out the door at 7:15, meeting Nancy for our walk. It was brisk and I can’t help but wonder how she can be warm? I’m layered up from a warm hoody, down jacket AND my poufy vest. Hood up, neck scarf and mini gloves. I need to be warm and she had her coat on. Complaints? None, we chatted the whole way and were back before we knew it.

Yup, another windy day is afoot

It was a chilly 37F/2.7C, with a clear sky and about a 1.5 mph wind. It was going to be a windy day again so another reason that I’m glad to get out early. When I returned, Bill was about ready to go to the big tent booth and I prepared to hop in the shower. He left around 8 this morning. Gibbs and I went for our walk, trying to catch up to Nancy and Cooper. His little legs can really prance along, we had to run!

At 9:15, I walked over with a Keurig pod and my mug with cream and Splenda to the clubhouse. Today, at Ladies Poker Pool we had 6 players until Bette arrived around 11 and joined in. They all love the game and the comradery of friends. Nancy were dragging the bottom by noon when we finished but we had fun all the same. 😊

My lunch today was hot and good

For lunch, I made chicken noodle soup from a Lipton’s packet and half of that filled me with some bread and peanut butter. I had popped the top down on the gazebo before I left for pool and it was a good thing. The winds increased mightily by then. Around 2:30 I went to start the puzzle and Nancy joined me before 3. We managed quite a bit and I don’t know about Nancy, but I came home hungry. See why?

We chose this puzzle today
I don't think it will take us long to finish.

Bill was home before 3:30 today; he and Tommy are taking turns with time off, which I think is great. Still no other real commitments from the club members to spell them off. Strange. He loaded a propane tank and went to get it filled before I returned home at 4. We watched some of Trump’s Inaugeration together and around 5:30, I started supper.

When we left the clubhouse, the winds
were really whipping from the north.
Gibbs didn't get an afternoon walk, just 'outings' as needed.

I turned the power back on, this has been another month of good sunny days for our panels, and used the convection oven. 😊 Pork chops, potatoes and a vegetable of choice were on the menu and everything turned out great. It was a good meal. After cleaning up, we watched more political tv, I finished my blog and then sat to relax for the evening.

Nancy and I should have tethered ourselves
together in that wind!

This has been a good day. Winds are reaching between 24 and 26 mph today but look to be dropping off overnight, back to normal. Only reaching 59F/15C (feeling cooler with the winds) was a disappointment but under sunny skies, we won't complain. It was -13C/8F back home today. Brrr!

Supper was good.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping in to see what we’re up to.
