Purging and Just Making Sure

Park Place RV Park

On Tuesday, Nov. 4th I stayed in bed until 7:15. I went to bed last night at 9:30, couldn't keep my eyes open downstairs to watch tv. I dropped right off but it was one of those times when I woke from a dream at 10:30. That was it. I couldn't drop off or get comfy for the better part of 3 hours.

Good morning!

I'm sure there were a couple of 'naps' in there, but I saw the clock at 1:15 and then 6:15. That's when I dropped off again into a sound dream-filled sleep. No worries, I had no where to be this morning until 9. Fred was going to man the office while us ladies were away for an hour.,

Sue, Angie and I were going to go to a Food Serve 'class' this morning, in the event that we may be serving some food over the course of the winter. Let's be safe about it, right? Sue messaged early that she was not able to go so we are all going to wait and catch the next one.

Clear skies today

Bill left for the field and I decided to take advantage of the quiet morning rather than go to the puzzle. The park is having their first Yard Sale this Saturday and there are a few things I want to go through and move out of the Suite. Things we haven't used for over a year.

I went through our regular dish cupboard and removed any glasses, cups, bowls, pans, utensils etc. that are living in here and not contributing at all. It gave us more space and now we don't have any duplicates. Who needs two potato peelers? Two can openers? Three ice cream scoops? LOL

Then I went upstairs and emptied the full garbage bags of clothes that I pulled out of the closet when the bar dropped. Bill said to be sure I wasn't being hasty before donating or selling anything. 💕 He understands how frustrated I was and he didn't want me to have regrets.

Not quite sure why, but I
love the palm leaf shadows

Surprisingly, I only re-claimed 2 items and folded the rest neatly and put them in two bags for the sale. Summer and fall items. They may not sell, even though the price will only be $1 or $2, and then I'll donate them at a nearby charity drop.

By the time I finished, Bill was home and it was almost lunch time. Gibbs and I went for a walk around the park and then I made French toast for lunch. We had eggs but no bacon so this would be a nice change. Oh, with maple syrup too!

French toast was yummy

Bill had been flying this morning, a couple of flights which made me happy. He is getting into the groove again. 😃 At 12:30, because we'd eaten early, he went over to Jim's for a bit. At 1, I walked over to the clubhouse with my pennies.

Ready for Pokeno

Sue, Bj, Angie and I had a fun couple of hours, losing, winning and juggling pennies. It was nice to see Bj back playing again. Back home, Bill and Gibbs were watching a move and the temperature was quite hot outside. I understood why they were indoors!

I made my tea and started this post. Without interfering with their movie watching, I moved over to the quilling table and worked on some bookmarks for the season. The puzzle didn't appeal to me today, too many distractions. Bill took Gibbs for his afternoon walk around the park.

A little Christmas sparkle
for reading pleasure

For supper, we each had a Turkey pot pie. They are actually quite good but Bill needed a slice of bread to fill that extra little gap. We'll be on 'duty' for the rest of this week, training with Sue and Fred, so I plan on a better meal with leftovers.

The meatloaf was good too

We had a good day even though much of it is spent indoors. When it is not comfortable to sit out even in the shade, we enjoy our Suite 'inside'. We reached 92F/30C with a bit of a breeze this morning.

Thank you for popping in!

    1. Thank you. Bill might enjoy the rice as a filler. I still have some of the keto 'rice', I'll try that! Thanks!

  2. It did turn into a hot one today. I am a little behind but I wanted to mention how great it was to have you and Bill out for Happy Hour on Sunday. Sounds like you are settling nicely into life at your winter home. Hugs

    1. I love them too but I like Sue's idea above, using rice as a filler.

  4. The bookmarks are so cute! Well done on the clear out for the garage sale. I've got boxes and bags full from my clear out of the unit for the park garage sale in January. It's all stacked up in the shed area and I hardly wait to clear that out!
    Enjoy your training!

    1. Thank you Maebeme. Not much sells in parks, where everyone is trying to get rid of stuff but oh well, one can try!

  7. Your bookmarks are adorable! I guess I missed it that you'd be working at the park this year. Hopefully you enjoy it, but I'm thinking you will. Love those pot pies, but haven't had one in years :(
