Starting the Day in a Flurry (of activity)

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Nov. 3rd we were all up and mobile by 6:45. Gibbs was being a little goofball this morning, tossing his remaining piece of yak cheese up in the air. I just love the little guy's antics. The more I giggle, the more he performs.

Good morning!

We had a busy morning so got right to it. First, Bill got ready to go to the flying field. He hasn't flown - yet - he's still doing a bit of organizing. He left at 7:30ish, just after I went out to meet Sue and Diane for a walk. A new venture to help Sue get out and myself!

The pool table awaits

Walking long and fast was not the plan. Walking, was. Sue stopped after 15 minutes, she needs to start slower. I stopped after one more park round and whether Diane carried on, I'm not sure. We'll meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 and improve as we go.

Sue called us outside to see the
Goodyear Blimp going over Quartzsite

I haven't walked all summer, as you know, so I'll take it easy until I know my body is okay with the deal. 😂 I took Gibbs out for a quick walk and he was able to finish the business that he didn't earlier with Daddy. 'Nuff said.

I put a few pieces in before lunch.

Bill was home by 8:50 and we walked over to the clubhouse for our first park staff meeting with Fred, Sue, Rusty and Angie. Sue was setting up the work schedule for November and December. We'll work 3 days and have 6 off, at least that is how it will all fall into place after our training days.

Gibbs and I walked around
the park.
So many sniffs!!

Bill and Fred hopped in their truck and took a load of tree/brush clippings to the dump. I stayed at the clubhouse for Ladies Poker Pool at 9:30. We were sad that Linda couldn't get a ride over from her park this morning so just us 3 ladies played today.

I (we) hope to be able to talk a few more ladies into joining us this winter but many of the 56 'year rounders' keep to themselves and we never see them. Oh well, I'm here to have fun and enjoy what I love. I did walk away the victor after only 3 games but that will change. Ha ha. We had fun.

Welcome!

I joined Bill and Gibbs for lunch and while they snoozed, I started my post. We planned supper and I went to do some puzzling for an hour. Back home around 2:30, I made my tea and sat at the table to do some quilling. Here is a completed project from yesterday.

We had bbq'd burgers (thank heavens!) tonight for supper, just cheeseburgers. No bacon in the house yet. I'm making a list of what we need when we go shopping later this week. The burgers were good with little to no cleanup. They aren't as good as what we buy at home but fit the bill.

Supper

Another hot day toay and a pleasant evening. We've enjoyed our Monday and look forward to what the rest of the week brings.

Interesting that last year
at this time, we had pretty equivalent
temperatures.
We are about 5 degrees hotter now.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping around,.

    1. These are not the same, just didn't taste like our home ones did. I'll keep searching.

  3. Nice welcome sign! And your quilling turned out very well.
The heat is getting to me a bit, I find I have to stay indoors in the afternoon. But it is definitely cooling off quickly in the evenings and overnight. It was in the low 60's F, 16C this morning when I woke up just after 5 a.m.

    1. Thank you on both counts.
Yes, we don't sit outside at all in this heat. A walk or two with Gibbs and Bill flies when he can in the early hours but by 10, we are all indoors somewhere. That's okay, it will cool off nicely for outside sitting.

  4. I have taken to walking around my living room each and every morning hopefully by the time the weather warms up in the spring I will be ready to go. People might think I am a bit crazy but walking for 15 to 30 minutes each morning gets the joints in working order.
Love the welcome sign and the quilling.

    God bless.
