Decision Made (90%) Nice Walk on a Gorgeous Day

Park Place RV Park

On Saturday, Jan. 31st there was no real rush to get up and get moving. However, we were all awake by 6:15 and I was up last at 7. We sorted 2 loads of dirty clothes and walked over to load the machines.

Good morning!
Gorgeous!

Bill left for the field about 15 minutes after Roberts RV Wash started on our east neighbour's rig. Our Suite is looking pretty bad but, as always, we'll wait and see about doing the same thing in March. If at all. We know she'll get dirty on the trip home but we don't have access to water on the Ridge. Yet.

I tried to catch him on the right
as a silhouette.....I'm not that quick.

Speaking of the Ridge, I asked Dot if she could stop and take a picture from the road whenever she drove by. We are always curious how much accumulation there is and Donna and Gerry have not been able to get out there. So, here it is. Yeuch!

That is quite a snow bank
pushed up at the end of the lane.
The gate is holding up.
Notice the footprints?
that's something big.

Putting that shudder behind me, I finished with the clothes, took Gibbs for a walk and proceeded to walk up to Family Dollar. I was looking for a couple of items, neither was found, but it was a lovely walk on a lovely day.

This is why Bill builds
a tall mailbox stand.
Look at the snow up over
the fence in the background.
No wonder the cedar rails don't
stand up.

These are the temperatures we come here for. Today's high = 78F/23C and heading ↑ for the next 10 days. When I returned, I finished the bookmarks with Mod Podge, and when Bill got home at noon, we had lunch.

I love when Mom grooms me.
It feels good and I get to chew on
the comb.

I was disappointed that Walmart did not have my bread.........grrr, so got the Sola brand which is 2nd best and my meat, cheese and lettuce sandwich was delish. Bill had a frame project to work on for the club so Gibbs and I sat outside on the patio for the afternoon.

Walking with Gibbs, it was warming
up nicely on this last January day.

I haven't sat in the sun much so I truly enjoyed pushing back in my gravity chair and closing my eyes. I love the warmth on my face, wrinkles be damned! I guess I should dig out a book for a change. 😏

On my walk, I saw this
Desert Lupin

Bill went over to Jim's, the field, wherever with the frame and when I lost the sun behind the rv, we came inside. Gibbs got a hair brushing, tooth brushing and a trim around his eyes so without a care in the world, he stretched out for a snooze.

This is a Hairy Desert Sunflower
(for you Daddy)

If you're wondering about my decision........yes, after my ride on Lila, I've decided that my knees just aren't up for it anymore. I'd rather walk, honestly. We have a yard sale coming up so I'll see if she sells before we go home.

I did Google this one too but can't
recall the name.

Sad, but honest. No point in keeping her around if I don't ride her. 😒Maybe she was the cause of my sciatica issues starting up last January/February. I never had a problem before. Bill wants me to be sure before we talk about the bike rack question.

Enjoying the outdoors.
Me in the sun, Gibbs in the shade.

At 3, when Bill got home, I opened one of the Seagram's coolers that we bought on Thursday. We both enjoy them, in moderation. 😉 The rest of the afternoon passed quietly, I wrote some of my blog post, and dug out a book that I barely started months ago.

Moving inside, he just
continued his snooze.
Such a hard life!

I began making a ground beef cabbage soup while Bill and Gibbs dozed. While it was cooking in Madame IP, I did a b it of paper quilling.

I can't get enough of these clear
skies and palm trees.

Gibbs and I went for his walk, both needing to get out of the oven called the Suite. Ha ha, this afternoon there is hardly a breeze.

Remember the Cabbage Soup diet?
This isn't it. This has meat in it
and boy is it delicious!

Supper for me was the soup, and Bill cleaned up the taco ground beef mixture with sloppy Joes. Both meals were yummy and now I have a guilt-free soup for lunch or suppers.

Goodbye January sun.
We're ready for the shortest month
of the year.

The sun dropped behind the mountains and after clean up, we relaxed. It was only 5:30, the night is young.

The Snow Moon makes an
appearance.
This is the best my phone cam will do.
Good night!

Enjoying Off Days, Puzzle, Warming Up

Park Place RV Park

On Friday, Jan. 30th it was a lazy morning again for me. Bill was up and having his cereal when I came downstairs at 7:30. Nothing on my morning agenda, all to be determined.

Good morning!

After Bill left, I finished my tea and cereal and Gibbs and I walked to the corner. Well, not quite. He stopped, a dead halt, trying to decide which way to go. Finally, we turned for home.

I'm chuckling looking at these pictures.
The clear indecision is so visible.

It was a bit warmer this morning but a wind picked up late morning.  Bill was able to get a flight or two in though.  I went to work on the puzzle and with Linda and Renee's help, I finished it. I left 2 pieces for Sue so she could day she contributed as well. 🤣

This was a 750-pc. puzzle and fun to do.
Notice the 2 pieces I left for Sue?
It's hard to find where they go!

Back home, we had lunch and Bill and Gibbs dozed while I took Lila for a spin. They are short but I'm wondering if I will ever feel like going much further than the corner. 🤔 Time will tell. When I returned, I sat outside and played my afternoon games while my boys slept.

We hopped in Black Beauty,
as unlike black as possible right now,
and drove out to Roadrunner Blm
for Happy Hour.

The wind felt cool under the gazebo. The sun is gorgeous though so I should have sat out on the patio. Duh. I moved inside when I heard Bill waking up and worked on my bookmarks for a while. At 2:15, we had our cooler and chairs packed so drove to Roadrunner a bit early.

The wind is often from the north,
so we sit at the back of the Journey.
L to R
Joan, my chair, Kim, Ken, Dave, Bill
and Gibbs front and centre.
A lot of funeral arrangements were discussed
today......yah, you read that right.
😅😂

Ken and Kim are leaving the area on Sunday for a week so we wanted to visit them before they left. It was a good day to be sitting outside in the sun, sheltered from the breeze. Joan and Dave joined us after about an hour and we stayed until almost 5:30.

Still sleeping!!
Instead of the Sleeping Indian,
I'm going to just call him
Rip.

Getting ready for a full moon,
in a couple of nights.

Gibbs was a very good boy, once more, no leash and he never tried to wander. He likes our laps too much! Bill barbecued the last flat iron steak from Nancy, and although the appearance did not appeal to much to me, it was delicious! So were the baked potatoes and my cabbage.

Oh my, this was g-g-g-g-good!

This was a wonderful day and after my blog, I'll be back into Gilmore Girls.........oh Loreli, what have you done? 💕💕💕 We reached 76F/22C today, just gorgeous.

Not outstanding, but still
a pretty sunset.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit.

An Shopping Day and Fun Evening

Park Place RV Park

On Thursday, Jan. 29th, the end of the month is just around the next bend. Are you ready for the shortest month of the year? I hope so as it is coming regardless. We slept in 'big time' (for us) this morning. It was 6:38 when Gibbs woke Bill up.

Good morning!
My first picture was
taken late morning
on our way to Parker.

It was 7:25 when I woke up the second time. Bill was quiet downstairs, in the dark so I was wondering if he'd slipped out. Nope, just resting quietly. 😊 He left for the field and I played games and then hopped in the shower.

Usually, it's the views that I enjoy
most about this drive.
Today, it was the traffic.
I think Jim might agree,
these are for him.

At 9:30, Gibbs and I went for our walk. It had warmed up by then, from 44F/6C to 53F/10C, so a light jacket was all I needed. I walked over to the clubhouse to say hello to Sue and start a puzzle around 10:30. No sooner had I opened the box and Bill messaged that he was on his way home.

There were 10 beautiful
Corvettes that passed us.
We think on the way to
Lake Havasu City.

The plan was to go to Walmart for our groceries since yesterday was Gov't pension payday. We did really good this month for spending, because of an early big expenditure on the tank valve replacements. It all worked out. 😉

7 of them were able to pass us,
but Bill pulled over for the last
3 to get by and catch up.
He received toots and waves.

Parker's trip was an expensive one but we expected the grocery bill to be a good one. We are good now for the staples for 2 or 3 weeks. It was 12:30 so we did a rare thing and stopped at Early Bird Cafe for lunch. It was not busy, quite reasonable and one of the best quesadillas I've ever had!

I tried to get them all in the
line but a Dodge got in the middle
and messed it up!

I bought stamps and Bill picked up a couple of items at Ace Hdwe there before returning home. We decided to eat 'big' since it is Thursday and both of us are out tonight and would not have time for a regular meal together.

Coincidentally, these were
at a car lot for sale as we entered
Parker.

Back home, I found a place for everything and went to start the puzzle. Nice to see someone had done the  border for us! Assuming it was Renee, I thanked her but it was not. Hmm, now I am 'puzzled' but still pleased.

We stopped for lunch
at the Early Bird Cafe.
A nice quiet family style place.

One of the best I've had!
Stuffed with chicken and veggies.

Renee was doing laundry so the two of us dug in and made great progress putting in pieces. I can no longer take credit for doing the puzzles myself but I enjoy her company very much. She makes me smile, she is so polite. 😌

The winds in the desert were
hiding my view of the mountains.

I returned home at 4:30 and Bill was just having a snooze. I emptied the dishwasher and with a cup of tea beside me, I started my blog while he slept. He left at 5:30 for night flying and at 6, I walked over to the clubhouse for Games Night.

Walking over at 6 for Yahtzee.

This has been a nice day. I'm slipping by not getting out on Lila so will make a point tomorrow to take her for a spin. She's waiting. 🚲 We reached a lovely 73F/21C today with full sun and that made the day feel much warmer than yesterday.

Renee has a birthday around the corner.
We all signed my bird card and gave her
a banana date loaf.

And the game was underway.
I actually won one tonight for
a change. 😊
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by!

Ridge Coffee Cake? Happy Hour

 Park Place RV Park

On Wednesday, Jan. 28th it was once more after 7 when I came downstairs. Walking at 8 was not even a consideration this morning. It was a chilly start, only 37F/2C.

Good morning!

Bill left for the field.  Gibbs and I sat together while I had a cup of tea and half a grapefruit. At 8:30, we went for his walk. I wasn't dressed appropriately enough and rushed him around more than usual.

This is probably the most we saw
of the blue sky all day and it didn't last.
It was 9 am.

He said hello to Sue before we came in to the warmth of the Suite. I had coffee and Rhubarb coffeecake with 10 others.  It was my Ridge rhubarb made into a delicious treat.

From scratch, Sue made
a yummy Rhubarb coffee cake,

After lunch Bill went to run a few errands.  Propane, diesel, bank and a truck run to clear the exhaust.  I did more quilling, made another greeting card and started on some bookmarks.

For an upcoming birthday,
turned out better than
I thought.

At 3 we went outside to our gazebo for Happy Hour with friends Ken, Kim, Dave, Joan, Tom and Deb. Gibbs joined us too. 🤗 There was a lot of conversation, a few pictures and much laughter.

Happy Hour L to R
Tom, Ken, Dave, Joan, Deb, Kim, Pat.
Fun single digit names, right? 😂

Gibbs was the best boy
and won Joan's heart.

By 5: 20 we broke it up and said goodbye. It was time as Bill's and my feet were feeling cold. The sun never did make an appearance today and with a breeze, we were lucky to reach the forecasted 68F/18C.

The tacos were very good.
I didn't have sour cream so
yogourt worked just fine.

We had tacos for supper and a cookie for dessert. They are quite tasty. I watched a couple of episodes of The Wall for a change while I worked on my blog.

Too many clouds for
a sunset tonight so...
here's a little sunshine.
Good night!

This has been a great day. Thank you for popping by

All is Well! The Money Pot

Park Place RV Park

Tuesday, Jan. 27th it was a few minutes past 7 when I got myself out of bed. It's so cozy in there, I was in no hurry. There's my buddy, with a face wash and nice warm cuddle before he turned his attention to Poppy.

Good morning!

She is probably the least expensive toy, $5, I've bought him and she has lasted the longest with only a small hole in her backside. If I'd known, I'd have bought a couple more at Marshall's. 😀 He's having fun with the toys no matter their state, so that's all that matters.

I think this spruced the
picture up even more.

Bill left for the field and we lounged here until 8:45 when I took him for his walk. I did finish the flower and mod podge it before going over to the puzzle around 9:30 with it. I glued it onto the metal bird picture and it looks quite nice there.

This was another fun one.
Love those puppies!

I finished the puzzle and returned home at 10:30 to Gibbs. Bill was going to Jim's hangar after flying so I took advantage of the time alone and prepared cookies for baking. These are keto cheese pecan cookies. They never quite turn out like regular cookie dough but taste good and are guilt-free.

Whatcha doin', Mom?

I had the last of my broccoli cheddar soup with a piece of my bread. Time to go to Parker! I'm on my last 2 slices of keto bread and that's a definite 'oh no!' 😃 Bill was a bit later getting home for his lunch and at 1, I took my money pot over to play Pokeno.

For those of you who never met her,
this is Jess, my paper quilling teacher.
Because of her, I have a new hobby.
💖
she didn't come south this winter
and is missed.

It was a nice turnout, 9 of us playing today. I was happy Deb took a break and joined us. Took a break from what? That's her story to tell. I won the first BlackOut, which means I get all the pennies from almost full cards from each player. Yes! (insert fist pump)

Sue did not have a good day so was buying pennies from me - a fair bit. You never know when you'll get lucky, it's the draw of the cards but we have fun. Linda, my friend, won the second BlackOut so went home a happy camper. Literally. 😍

38 cookies baked.
Bill sampled and said they were good.
Bonus!

Bill was busy while I was away, removed the 'old' and wired our 'new' converter in. A lot of stuff that I don't fully understand, so I'm glad he does! That's his department! Mine was making cookies so I put them in the oven to bake.

I stopped while riding Lila
and took a picture from outside
the park.

These are nice and easy to
whip up. 😃

I felt like quilling so while they baked, I made another greeting card. My girlfriend back home messaged me about an Artisan show in April so that has put a bit of a spur in my activity. Hmmm, I hope I have the courage/nerve to do those when we return.

For supper, Madame IP cooked pork ribs and I sliced the huge baked potato from our potluck and fried that up nice. Yum, they were good! Bill had his corn and I had my Brussel sprouts. It was a good supper. Even Gibbs got drippings on his dry food! I guess I forgot a picture!!

I ran outside to catch this
before it disappeared.

Not sure what tv will be but it will keep us entertained for the evening. We were a bit warmer today - oh yes! Bill took Gibbs for his before supper walk and I took Lila for her daily spin to the corner. My legs are still feeling it but my balance is improving. 😊🚴

We can't claim this little guy
as our own, but our neighbour, Dot, can!
Brecken also has an adorable little smile and is almost
3 months old.
😍💖

We reached a lovely 68F/18C today with very little wind. Each day and nighttime temperature for the next week is improving by leaps and bounds. PS - thank you for all your well wishes on my headache. All gone, as quick as they came.

This is why we come
down for our winter.
Good night!

Thank you for your visit!
