A Very Low-Key Day

Park Place RV Park

On Friday, Jan. 2nd I have to report a really bad night, as far as a good sleep goes. Oh my goodness! I would have thought a glass of wine at 7 pm would have put me to sleep faster than usual. No. I went to bed shortly after 10 and was still awake when Bill came up at 11:27. Precisely; ask me how I know!

Good morning!

I saw every half hour, until 2:30 when I must have dropped off. Perhaps I just refused to look at the clock. Anyhow, I stayed in bed until 7:45 this morning, surprised I didn't sleep in any longer. I don't usually do well on anything less than 8 hours sleep.

I skipped our 8 am walk, obviously, but I felt quite good when I got up, no residual discomfort from yesterday's hike. Since last night was a wash for blog writing, I finished my New Year's Day post while drinking my delicious, creamy tea. The day started out cloudy so we didn't disconnect from power when Bill left for the field.

Taking a drive down Kheun St.
and traffic was already busy.

Looking out about an hour later, it was very foggy across the desert. A really wet looking fog if you understand what I mean. I think Nancy talked about it a lot in a few of her blog posts before she left California.

When my tea was done, I pulled the boxes out from under the bed and began putting the 2025 Christmas decorations away. It took a little over an hour and I pushed them back in place for the next 11 months. Then I got Gibbs' favourite appliance out and dusted then vacuumed the floors.

So far, drivers are very kind.
They let you in or out, if you are in
a vehicle or walking.
I hope it stays that way.

Now, we can move on appropriately into 2026. Bill was home for lunch and with that finished, I took Gibbs for his walk. Bill and I had planned to take a drive up town to Tyson Wells. I haven't been there yet and I wanted to check a few things out.

Isn't she pretty?

We visited Bill's favourite vendor (which has no name) and we both purchased a few things. Prices seem so good for things. My garden/everything gloves are still only $1 so I bought 3 pair again and some battery operated pot lights for in cupboards etc.

Look at those pretty white
low-lying clouds over the
mountains.

The food tent cost me $8 but we needed beans for tonights supper. I'm happy with the first visit but would like to spend more time 'looking' another time. The street through T.W. was already crazy busy with no parking available except in the back lot. It's just begun!

Just a few pieces left,
to be finished tomorrow.

Back home, I went to work on the puzzle and chatted with Sue for a bit. At 4, I returned for my afternoon tea. Bill took Gibbs out this time and for supper, I had Madame IP make us a pot of chili. She's very good at that and it should mean some leftovers for at least one night.

The moon is just hanging there

Our Christmas card from Donna arrived today but she reports that she hasn't received ours yet. That makes me sad, I thought I sent them in plenty of time. 🤔 Oh well, can't be helped when we rely on postal service.

Supper was very good! I pulled 2 rolls out of the freezer and that topped the meal off perfectly. I watched more of the Reacher episodes after clean up. I enjoy his show a lot, can you tell? This was a great day.

The after sunset glow

Sure is pretty.

We hit a high of 71F/20C and I stand corrected about yesterday. It actually reached the same temperature during those periods of sunshine. overnights are in the low 50's/10C so pleasant enough for sleeping with no heat.

This was delicious with
some shredded cheese and sour cream.
Good night!
