An Easy going Sunday

 The Ridge

On Sunday, Sept. 28th It felt good to sleep in. Well, not exactly 'sleep in', as we were up by 7 but it felt nice to not have to get up at any given time. Gibbs slept in until 6 and came back to rest with me while Bill stayed up.

Good morning!
A display of love for Goat.
All you can see is his blue hoof.

Last night when I went up to bed at 9:30, my leg was really uncomfortable. It took some painful twists and turns to find a good position so I could drop off. Mike had informed Bill he was coming out for the night, after visiting Donna and Gerry at the Acreage.

I knew when he arrived because Gibbs let me know that Bill had a visitor at the Hangar. 😂 This morning, I had my tea and Bill pulled out with his cargo trailer, headed for the field. The days for flying are numbered, not only because of weather but because of time.

Mike had somewhere to be today so left early also and Gibbs and I went to the Bunky/outside around 10. I had a plan today to tidy up and 'pretend' I had a 'gig' (can I call it that?). I wanted to see how the best way would be to pack and carry to an event.

Gibbs found a shady spot in
his bed under the Suite

I came across a few cards that I wanted to tweak and I wanted to put a couple of my finished pictures into the new shadow boxes I bought the other day. They each required some tweaking too and then I found baggies suitable for each piece.

Bill got home from flying and went off to pick up a couple of items that he won at the 6 & 6 auction. He was very careful about what he bid on and we ended up with a kitchen tap for the Suite. Now he has another job before we leave!

This card was co-created.
Jess made it originally but I added the
camel blanket and harness.
Hope she doesn't mind!

After lunch, I went to the Bunky again and quilled until almost 2. There was an Open House at a well-hidden home down the highway and although not in the market, I was nosy (ahem, curious) enough to put myself out there and check it out.

The laneway goes back into
a grove of evergreen trees
so I'm happy to see the log home for the first time.

After 400+ square footage, I don't know
what we'd ever do with over 2200!

I'm glad I did! It's gorgeous! Now, to just win the $1,000,000. 😂 Anyway, I loved that it was open viewing with the realtor not leaving her spot at the kitchen table while we, myself and about 5 other 'snoopers', walked through at our own pace.

Other than trimming some overhanging
trees, the property is lovely!

On the way home, I stopped at the Acreage to pick up some yogourt that Donna bought for me. I had a nice visit with her for about 30 minutes before returning to my boys. Time for a tea! More crafting ensued, until supper time.

I never have to wonder if this
little guy loves his mama.
💖

Bill grilled our steak and I fried some potatoes for him. Mike had left a salad in his fridge so we split that. It was delicious, as was the steak, grilled to perfection. Bill had a cinnamon roll and I had a pecan tart for dessert. Oh dear, the weight losses will have to wait!

I decided to make a sign
for my booth/table
and like how it turned out.

We cleaned up the few dishes, Bill made his lunch and we watched a movie together.  Gibbs slept with Goat on my chair, it's so cute to watch him with a new toy. It was a great day. I enjoyed the slow pace for a change, no commitments.

The steak and salad were tasty.

We reached 23C/73F with clear blue skies all day. Seems like the nice weather is here for a while longer. Yay!

I buy them, we eat them.
Duh!
It was so good though!
Good night!

Thank you for the visit today.

Sunday – Comin’ Down Nicely

Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Nov. 17th our routine changed a bit because it was laundry day. I woke up at 6:30 and rolled onto my back. Gibbs took that as an invite to come over and plop himself across my chest and give Momma a nice kiss on the mouth. Ha ha, he is quite the character. Usually, he lifts his head and when he finds me not moving towards him, he puts his head down until my next movement.

Good morning!

At least I got some lovin’ before he went on the search for Monkey. I’m usually second fiddle these days. 😊 So, told him to go back to sleep and at 6:50 we stretched and got up. Bill was dozing downstairs so I started sorting the dirty clothes for today’s wash. Two loads as usual, but they don’t seem as full since we aren’t changing our outer clothes as often. There were no jeans or long pants in these loads.

When we walked in the door, there was some Tom-foolery
by a certain someone.
For attention, our slippers are the quickest thing he can grab.
If he is in the right mood, he'll drop it for you and fetch your other one.
Look at those eyes!💗

Bill carried the basket over and helped load before he left for the field. I had my tea at home until time to swap machines and then headed out for my walk. I had 45 minutes before the dryers were done. It was a cool morning, 44F/7C on the thermometer but with no wind, I took a chance and only layered in a light hoody. It was perfect, I didn’t need the gloves that I left back at home either. 😊

It's a beautiful morning!
The desert is around us, I may venture back there
to find a Saguaro. They are rarer here in town.

After I returned, I retrieved and folded our clothes, putting mine away before I took care of the dusting on the main level. Then, Gibbs’ favourite thing, I got the big central vac out. He watched me the whole time but didn’t move from his perch on my recliner until I actually got real close. I think he is more afraid of the Dirt Devil and dust mop! Told you he was a character!

When I say you can boondock pretty much anywhere,
this motor home has been parked out here, free, since we arrived.

With the ‘chores’ done, I took him out for his walk to which he piddled and stopped in his tracks. “No thanks, Mom, I’m good”. We came in and I left him to go to the puzzle. This puzzle was supposed to be easy (ier!) but it sure isn’t. Susan, where are you? 😊 I plugged away for an hour and a half and chit chatted with Sue during the puzzle plopping process, not making much plopping. LOL

At noon, Bill and I both returned home around the same time for lunch. We had our cold meat, cheese and lettuce sandwiches on keto bread and with another offer to Gibbs, I was refused once more. At 2:00, I sat in the gazebo and read a few chapters for half hour. The wind had picked up so the shelter was nice and so was the heat from the sun coming in through the screen.

Not a cloud in the sky today

I returned to the puzzle and this time made better headway. Not great, not leaps and bounds but at least some encouraging positive plopping. 😊 Once more, Bill and I returned home between 4 and 4:30. This afternoon he surprised me (so to speak) by picking up a bike rack for the back of our rig. Wha??? He knows I like riding a bike but we have not been able to bring one with us so I’ve sold a few.

This fellow was so anxious to get rid
of it that he asked Bill for $20 only.
Bonus!

A fellow in the park gave him a deal he couldn’t refuse so now we just need to see what kind of second had bike I can fine. There are nice paved roads around here that I’ll be happy to traverse without being on a main highway. An electric bike would be awesome but it isn’t in the budget nor would it fit on this rack anyway. Just a bike is enough for me!

Not leaps and bounds but some progress.

I made a tea, tried Gibbs again and ended up going for my walk alone. No discomfort after yesterday so that is good, great actually! For supper, we planned simple tonight. Grilled cheese sandwiches and pickles. I’ll use up my sour dough bread in the freezer since it makes the absolute best in my opinion! Bill has another new movie tonight at 6 so I will be watching The Floor with Rob Lowe. The contestants are thinning out slowly. It’s fun to watch.😀

Still love seeing the sun drop behind the mountains.

This has been a great day. Not a cloud in the sky all day so it was a plain Jane sunset. I had to repost M’s apartment ad again as his prospects from 2 weeks ago fell through AGAIN! That man just needs a stretch of good fortune, doesn’t he? I hope you have had the good fortune of a wonderful Sunday. We had a pleasant high of 69F/21C today so no complaints there!

PS, from my commenters if the post office workers are still on strike over Christmas, our Christmas cards will be an Easter treat! 😂

Not quite sure why this fun pictures of Ladyfest
popped up on my phone, but it made me laugh.
After surviving the Escape Room, we got silly.
Good night!

Thanks for the visit!

Sunday Comin’ Down, 12 days BEFORE Christmas, Cute Grandson Alert!

Park Place RV Park

We were all up by 6:30 on Sunday, Dec. 17th. Early birds today! I was in bed last night at 9:30 after watching a cute UK movie. The accents were often very strong but it was still a fun watch. It was called 23 Walks. 😊 I’ve found a ‘channel’, so to speak, with a few good looking movies so I’ll be entertained for a while too. I just can’t get into those Hallmark fluff stories. Well, it’s like I’ve written the book!

Before 7 am, the sky was
interesting and pretty

This morning, I set about sorting laundry and Bill carried the basket over for me at 6:45. It was still dark but the sky was daunting and beautiful all at the same time. Bill left for the field just after I had to switch from washers to dryers. While they were drying, I took Gibbs for his walk and then took my tea over to the clubhouse. I also took our chair quilts, plus Clemson’s handmade ‘quilt’ for a wash. While waiting, I finished the puzzle as Gerald worked around me, sweeping.

Little wiggle bum and I going for our walk.
The pink mountains are in the west while the sun
rises in the east.

Kapop!

I folded our clothes and hung the quilts on the line behind the building. They wouldn’t (& didn’t) take long to dry at all. It was a warm morning with some clear and some sunny skies. I texted back and forth with my little brother out in Alberta after I returned and Gibbs and I sat out in the sun until Bill got home. We had lunch and I went over to the clubhouse to see if Gerald was up for a game of pool. He was busy for a while so I played a couple of games against myself until he was free.

The puzzle got finished first thing
Bill was cleaning windows this afternoon.
He had to wait for the sun to disappear to do the back
and west facing ones. Now we can see!!

Needless to say, I lost all 3 games but not too badly. He could have been going easy on me, I don’t know, but we had fun all the same. I picked up a couple more tips and will try and put them into practice. It sounds like the ‘new personal cue sticks’ virus has caught on as 3 of our fellow campers have theirs now too. Oh-oh, I’m rubbing off on them! Ha ha. 😊 I hope they all enjoy theirs as much as I do mine. When I returned home around 3, Bill was finishing up cleaning windows. Nice job, sweetie!

our afternoon walk
I just can't enough of these sky photos

I had my tea and then took Gibbs for his walk around the park. When I slipped out after 5:30 to take a picture of the west sky, I met up with Sheila who was getting her steps in for the day.

Sheila and I did our best to find some
camera worth shots.
Success!

We took a detour and captured a different view of the sky minus the rv’s. 😊 Bill was grilling sausages, a potato and corn on the Weber and I cooked some acorn squash in the microwave for supper. Yum, it was delicious!

There is a little bit of love going on here.

This has been a fun day. Laundry is done for another week and I got some pool practice in too. I hope your day was a good one as well.

Light bulb earrings
and
Ruby angel

I've been wrong, calling this 12 day challenge the 12 days of Christmas so I'll correct it here. The 12 days of Christmas don't actually start until Dec. 25th. These days are called the 12 days before Christmas and today is the 5th day. 😁 Earrings and brooch today.

Happy 7 months (yesterday) Alexander!
If this doesn't make you smile, nothing will. 💗💗
You can't tell here but he has two 'toofies'
on the bottom and more on their way.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping around. Your comments are always welcome!

And Then it Was Sunday, The End of a Weekend

The Ridge

Weekends are back to feeling special again, because other than one morning when I clean, we don’t work. So, on Sunday, Sept. 17th we could do our own thing. Bill was up with Gibbs at 6:30 and I slept until 7:30. It was forecasted to be a full day of rain but looking out my window, it hadn’t started yet. We had our tea and coffee together as Bill had already decided it wouldn’t be a flying morning.

When we were able, we went down to
the end of the lane.
This time I had clippers to cut the vines
that I had pulled loose from the little bushes.

The day was a little bit of this and that, depending on when the rain fell. Inside I filled our pill capsules for the week, takes about 5 minutes. At least the day wasn’t a complete wash out, and the rain was fairly light when it did fall. We worked at the gate a bit, Bill mounted the latches on the gate and because they’ve settled over the last few weeks, he had some adjustment to do. It doesn’t help that the lane is not level either. We discussed where and what shape my flower boxes will be down there. 😊

Top picture is from a
distance.
Bottom - Gibbs stays with Daddy
but keeps an eye on Mom

This vine is on every bush and tree and has roots
deep in the ground. I pulled and yanked to the point of
landing on my butt yesterday and now you can see why.
Just how tangled they get around the posts etc.
I won though! 😉

I was close enough to help if needed but plugged away with the clippers along the north fence line. That vine will not get the better of me! I clipped and pulled and clipped and pulled some more all the while Gibbs stayed well-placed in between the two of us. It was 11 o’clock when we were getting too wet from the showers (we kept thinking it would stop any minute) so came up until noon hour. Bill worked in the Hangar and I read more of my book.

After Bill finished down there this afternoon,
Gibbs and I walked down to check out his
work.

After bacon and eggs, it had stopped again so Bill went back down to the gate and worked some more. Between his back and forth a few times, he managed to get what he’d hoped to for today. There’s still a bit of adjustment to do but that will do for another day. We could close it and latch it now if we so chose to do that. 😊 I’ll go back, again on another day, to pick up the vines that are sprawled along the fence in piles.

The black latch sure finish it off nicely!

Inside, I got out the yarn barrel and crocheted. Another hat in the works, each one getting a bit easier for me. The practice is good and I’m enjoying doing it. I decided to watch a movie, there are so many to choose from now that we’re streaming. On Prime I found An Unfinished Life with Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Lopez and Robert Redford. How could I go wrong? It was a great movie and I needed a break from my evening episodes.

This is the 3 plank 'man' door to the east
of the main gate. Just a simple, country-style
rope latch to slip in and out when the gate is closed.
The rope is not visible from the road so it looks
solid.

Gibbs and I walked down the road a bit.
The sky was not trustworthy though, one minute
looking and feeling like rain, the next the sun appeared.

For supper, I had Madame IP cook some ribs, potatoes on the stove and corn on the cob in the oven. We were eating by 6:45 and it was a good Sunday night meal. I finished the ribs on the Weber for about 5 minutes with sweet & sour sauce to brown them a bit. Yum. We had cinnamon buns to finish so I had my half and we each had some ice cream for dessert. Bill went out to check the coolant level in Black Beauty so I would be good to go tomorrow.

tonight's was a nice Sunday meal

This was a good day. I feel good about all that we got done. I hope you had a good couple of days too.

There was a lot of noise in the sky just before
supper. The geese came back from their day trip. 😀
The pink sky came out of nowhere but it sure
was pretty to see.
Good night!

Thank you for popping by!

A Busy Sunday – Should be a Day of Rest!

The Ridge

It wasn’t a restful day for me on Sunday, June 5th but sometimes that is just the way it turns out.

A pretty sky thanks again to the clouds

Let’s go back to last night. We arrived at the Drive-In around 8:45 with the movie to start at 9:15 or whenever it was dark enough. The screen sure seems a whole lot smaller than I remember it but perhaps we used to park closer. It was a beautiful warm night and we didn’t need the blankets at all. So, the movie, Top Gun, was AWESOME! We both love the original and this one did not disappoint us at all.

We had to wait in a long line to get this far
and looking back, seems we came at a good time
There were a number of hatchbacks where people
sat to watch, chairs behind their vehicles
and chairs in the bed of pick ups
It wasn't that warm!

It actually didn’t begin until close to 10 and ended around midnight. The funniest thing was the intermission commercials. Do you remember those from your teen years? Well, they haven’t changed!

This was fun and we'll do it again

Bill wanted to park near the back but
doesn't it look small? 😃

That was so funny! Even the somersaulting wiener that jumps into the bun. We decided to stay for the second show. Lost City starred Sandra Bullet, Ed Harris and Brad Pitt was not worth staying for and after 20 minutes or so, we left. Stupid movie.

Intermission time!

I bet this brings back memories

We were home by 1:15 and after Gibbs running out for a quick piddle, we all climbed into bed. The little guy must sleep while we’re gone but had no problem going back to sleep until 6:30 this morning. We slept in until 8:15 and sorted the laundry. Back to my busy day. To start out, I clean every other day and every two weeks, it falls on a Sunday. So, I work on the Lord’s day regardless.

Gibbs following the shade

I had texted Jamie with my May work hours and he would meet me at the Mat this morning to pay me. With the sun ruling the blue sky, I could hang the laundry on the line. 😊 Within 15 minutes, my ‘boss’ showed up and we began discussing the upcoming sale of the laundromat. I’m happy for Jamie but it could mean that I’ll no longer be needed. The new owners might need someone but it depends on whether we get along appropriately. Neither here nor there right now.

This is a cute picture

My job is secure at the Mat until July 27th so that’s almost 2 months. I did my cleaning in between helping Jamie clean out the two storage rooms. They were long overdue and even he admitted that. Sometimes it takes a push to get it done. He asked me to be ‘secretary’ for him by making up a Chattel list and then we purged and made piles of what needs to go to the dump. Bill has a couple of small things he’ll do for Jamie over the next little while and it will be good to go. Literally.

A good start

I had filled Ptooties on my way in and before I left town, filled a 5-gallon water jug. Bill and Gibbs were down at the Hangar when I returned and I hung the clothes. Bill's plan was to work on his hobby today and he did. 💙 Gibbs was let off leash and ran around a bit but mostly followed the revolving shade under the clothes line. 😊 I vacuumed the Suite and emptied the dishwasher. At 3, it was time for a tea and to put my puzzle away.

fish and chips
prepared by the Richard's duo 💖

At 3:30, we drove over to meet our new neighbours to the east. It’s a mom, daughter and husband and their two children. They seem very nice and very appreciative of our welcome. They’ve never lived in the country before so we gave them a garbage pick up calendar and a couple of tags since the first one is tomorrow. They’ve never had a mailbox so that was discussed as well as property maintenance. “Can we cut our trees and bushes?” That kind of thing.

Gibbs thought my cone looked
pretty good but he didn't
get any

They have a cute little chihuahua name Prince who came to me to be picked up right away. Gibbs was suspicious when I returned, sniffing my hands, sleeves and shirt all over.  Woops! They seem very nice and at least we know their names and visa versa if they ever need us. I put the puzzle away and started a new one. This one will be easier, I made sure of that! I worked on it for an hour before coming inside to start supper.

A nice sky tonight

Haddock and fries for supper ending with a Salty Caramel ice cream cone with a cherry on top. Breaking all the rules tonight, it seems, but it was all delicious. This has been a good day, busy but good, and we’re watching a movie together before I retreat to an early bedtime. 😊

Last year, I had a few more veggie plants
but they looked good!
Good night!

Thank you for popping around!
