The Ridge, Priceville, On
On Friday, Mar. 26th, Bill and I slept in late. It was 7:00 when I stirred and looked at the clock. I’m disoriented when I wake up now, trying to picture in the dark where we are. I’m happy to discover we are right where we are supposed to be! It is like when we are travelling south. Our immediate indoor surroundings never change but outside they do. I have to stop and think ‘what will I see when I look out the window?’ many times. 😊
This is what our day looked like from beginning to end
An indoor day
Bill didn’t get the call for work today, which he kind of expected, so it was another day for taking care of things around home. Unfortunately, the weather changed as they said it would, and it was much colder and had rained since the wee hours of the morning. I didn’t hear it until I woke up but Bill did. The pitter patter of the calmer rains at 7 kept us dropping off to sleep over and over.
With the
wind and rain, I was in no hurry to go to clean the Mat. I sorted laundry and we
had our tea and coffee plus a bite to eat before Bill carried the basket out to
the car for me. He had the truck loaded with a propane tank and had errands of
his own to do in town. It was uneventful at the Mat when I loaded 2 washers and
then cleaned. It seemed to take me longer today, not sure why. Maybe I’m just
out of practice. 😊
And the winds were strong
When I
arrived home, Bill had just texted to be sure things were okay. We have our
Blue Flame heater hooked up just inside the door and when the winds grew
stronger, Bill set up our Infrared heater at the end of the living room. We
were keeping it nice and warm and always have blankets for when the chill moves
in. We find sitting at our table and laptops that the cool air comes in at our
feet so we wear our warm slippers.
We had
some lunch, late, since I was late getting home. Bill had a toasted cheese and
peanut butter sandwich and I had one of the last bowls of my cheddar broccoli
soup. I’ve enjoyed it very much and will make it again. Plus, it’s good for me,
right up the paleo/keto alley! Things need to change for me (how many times
have I said that?) in my diet. Now that we’re home, I can make a better effort
with all ingredients close at hand.

It was
almost tea time so I got a new book out to start and heated up the Keurig. This
one was kind of a recommendation from Bridgette on Goodreads. I found it at the
Mission Store, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. Three chapters went by
very quickly but I had to stop to make supper at 6. I was sitting in my chair,
watching NCIS reruns and Bill was on his laptop searching for a couple of
things on our list. I noticed during commercial my quail ornament in
silhouette and smiled. 😊
With a blanket, a good heater, a cup of tea and a large tv
I was pretty darn happy this afternoon
For supper, I fried the last 3 homemade burgers and Bill got the Fry Daddy heated up to cook fries. He had his burger in a bun and I just had mine on the plate. They were good no matter how we ate them.

I haven’t made dessert, I guess I’ve
been too busy so we just took care of dishes and settled in for the evening. Bill
couldn’t find one of his movies so who knows what we’ll end up watching. I
worked on my blog and then relaxed for the evening.
A combined effort for supper tonight
and it turned out pretty good
Not many
pictures today at all, as I wasn’t outside other than going from the Suite to
the car, to the Bunky and back again. I picked up the mail on my way back from
town so didn’t even walk down the lane. It felt cold and now I’ve turned into a
wimp. The rain stopped mid afternoon but the winds from the northwest did not.
We were toasty warm inside – together. 😊
