Flying and Laundry

Park Place RV Park

On Sunday, Nov. 3rd I managed to stay in bed until just before 7. I was awake at 6 but dozed off a few times before I got up. Every time I move, Gibbs lifts his head to look at me ‘are you awake, Mom?’😊 We get up together after his neck cuddles and face kiss. He doesn’t help make the bed though.

Good morning.
I couldn't decide on one - so these are my TWO
favourite pictures of the day.

I walked Quail Trail St. to
La Paloma which took me around
the block while waiting for the washers
to finish.

Bill and I sorted the dirty clothes and we loaded 2 machines, just enough quarters, phew! Later, I bought 2 rolls from Sue in the office. After starting the wash, I went for a walk around the block before returning to the Suite. Bill was just leaving for the field after disconnecting us from power. It was sunny to start so we took advantage. The winds are threatening to pick up for a couple of days but it was calm enough this morning that Bill managed to get a flight in at the field.

Surprise! I found my walking partner!
and
A zoom in on the Q mountain on the other
side of town.

With the laundry done, I donated a few pieces of clothing to the FREE table and returned with a couple of James Patterson books that we haven’t read. Gibbs and I sat outside while I played my games and I moved my 2 Kalanchoe plants out to the gazebo. Susan offered me some planters before she left so I snagged 3 matching ones. I might buy some small plants for when we’re down here. Inexpensive ones since we can’t take them home to Canada.

My new little planters from Susan.

When Bill got home at 10:45 (I think) we sat outside and caught up a bit, discussing plans and had a chit chat with Donna and Gerry back home. We asked them to have a peek at our sheds and cargo trailer at the Ridge. M told me someone had walked up the lane and we wanted to be sure it was a ‘harmless’ walk. It is deer hunting season so………anyway, she walked up and things are just fine. Peace of mind. 😊

Nonchalant, no?

This will give you an idea of the
winds today. Those flags are very expressive.

We had toasted tomato sandwiches for lunch, Bill and Gibbs dozed, and I doddled on line gathering tips and such. Bill had some straightening to do in the back of Black Beauty, things involving his flying hobby so I left him alone and started my blog. At 2, Gibbs and I went for a walk around the park. I steered him to the outskirts and, eventually, (soon) we’ll take him to the dog park down towards the flying field.

Bill worked away on his hobby

The winds just kept picking up all afternoon and eventually it felt cool, since we’re in the shade if we sit on the patio. I sat in the gazebo with my book, facing the sun but it was flopping so much that even that wasn’t totally perfect. Gibbs moved back and forth too. We all came inside at 3:30 and have decided instead of bbq’ing supper, I’ll use the convection oven.  ðŸ˜Š

Two cute things today.
Look at Gibbs eyes when I took him off
his leash and suggested his rope.
Of course, he got a belly rub.
Bottom picture was a surprise through the
gazebo screen.
Roadrunners are rare in here!

More wind evidence.
The gazebo door was flapping a lot.

We made ourselves a cup of tea and just got lazy. Stay-cation, right? Our supper was good, although I had a tough time getting the time right for the chops. They took longer than I’d hoped. On the side we had fried potatoes and a veggie. After clean up, we watched a Christmas movie and if nothing else, it was entertaining.  It’s just too soon for the whole Christmas spirit thing for me.

Crispy fried potatoes, acorn squash
and 2 pork butt chops.

This has been a good day. Lots of wind that we can always do without, it kind of reminded us of the Ridge! We still reached a high of 74F/23C and that is always pleasant.

A peek at the pre-sunset.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping by.

  1. We used to see Road Runners in La Posa South though not as frequent as in Borrego Springs.
It's good that M is watching the Ridge and Donna and Gerry can check it for you.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. Thanks Rick. Road runners do not frequent this area so it was special seeing it.

  2. Somehow I just couldn't"t put "flying & laundry" together, tehe! Really looks like you have settled in for the duration of your winter & Bill got a first flight in.Looking forward to your posts through your stay--all the best.

  3. I bet Mr. Gibbs appreciates being off leash in the gazebo. He's such a good boy! Glad Bill got to fly. I hope they have a good year at the "airport".

    1. Gibbs was only off leash between getting his rope and leash on. I can't trust he won't run out when someone walks by. Our door zipper is broken.

  4. I saw the title as Flying Laundry and wondered what on earth happened, LOL!
Sounds like you are settling in well, including Gibbs. Here's hoping the winds die down and you'll have plenty of sunshine.
