Park Place RV Park
On Friday, Nov. 1st, we entered a new month and a new stage in our trip. We were up by 5:30 (Bill) and Gibbs and I by 6:30. We are anxious to move, yet not too anxious. Our park managers and 2 sets of park hosts are no longer there and they were all good friends. We will really miss them, all for individual reasons, but Patti, as far as we’re concerned, for being the best manager we’ve ever had. ♥
Good morning! |
Before leaving Pilot Knob Resort, Gibbs and I walked the park while Bill dumped tanks. I thought you might be missing pictures of the little guy. |
At least
the two of them will be in Quartzsite so we can visit. Anyway, that’s the upset
I mentioned. We know the new managers, from our first year AC (after Covid),
when we came in to try the park for 2 months. Sue and Fred are good people and
we’ll just see how it goes this winter. We made the familiar drive on US-95N
and arrived at Park Place RV Park in Quartzsite at 11:50. We set up the basic
parts, and stopped for lunch.
The drive up US-95N Through the Yuma Proving Grounds, is always a pleasant drive. |
Arrival at Quartzsite! |
Our
friends, Susan and John, had not yet pulled out so we popped back to catch up
on the news and see how they fared the hot Arizona summer. Then it was back to
work. More for Bill than for me. I had dusted the Suite back in Winterhaven
while Bill dumped tanks and checked the air in her tires. Only one needed to be
topped up.
John and Susan were packing up and pulled out mid-afternoon. It was nice to see them before they left. Bottom picture - our site from the rearview. My craft centre is UP! 😁 |
The patio
mat, Weber Q, chairs, Starlink dish and weather station all got set up and even
Gibbs’ water dish and rope placed outside for his comfort. The rope, not so
much, but he is very good going on it and it gives him the ability to go to our
outdoor space. I wandered over to check out the clubhouse, puzzle space, pool
table, library and laundry room. Sue has given me the ok to start a Ladies
Poker Pool as well, so I’m happy about that.
My Sweeties, relaxing. |
Another couple of shots of the little sweetheart. He is starting to feel relaxed too. |
She
handed me 2 puzzles from Patti. ♥ She bought them for me and they will be challenging and yet a joy to
work on. 😊 My puzzle mate, Susan, won’t be here
to help now but she (almost hysterically) told me about the 2,000 pc. puzzle
waiting for me inside. Oh brother! I don’t know if I’m brave enough to tackle
it even though she has separated border pieces and divided the rest into half
or quads. LOL
Supper was good. I stole a few fries from Bill's plate. |
Bill got
the gazebo up and boy, with the two rv’s behind and to the east of us, it sure
looks (& feels) empty. I walked back to take a picture and it hit me that
we’re home for the winter – regardless of who or what is around us. We relaxed
now that the ‘work’ was done and for supper, we had fish and chips. Rosy air
fried the fish, Bill deep fried the chips and I had baked squash. Everything
was good, we are good now that we can sit for 5 months. 😊
These are my puzzles from Patti. I'm going to have fun working on these! Thanks Patti! Good night y'all! |
After
clean up, the rest of the evening was quiet. Some tv kept us entertained until
bed time. Tonight, we are 3 hours different than home time but tomorrow night,
they will begin to observe standard time and we’ll be back to 2 hours
apart. It can be so confusing, the whole DST thing, but it is what it is. We’ve
had a great day and we reached 82F/28C here in Quartzsite!
Thank you for stopping by.
Hopefully all works out in your park and welcome to your winter home 😊
