Park Place RV Park
On Saturday, February 1st we enter the new month with warmer weather. It was 45F/7C at 7:15 when I headed out for my walk. I was very comfortable with my windbreaker and poufy vest. I met Betty and her husband, Steve, this morning so didn’t know where Nancy (her regular walking partner was). By the time I got home, my sciatica was making me quite uncomfortable again.
Good morning!
My right
leg ached and my foot was numbing on the last stretch. I was glad to get home,
make my tea, have some yogourt and a banana and sit down! Once I stretched my
leg out, the pain eased considerably. Good grief! This getting old s**t is not
fun! By the time Gibbs was ready for his walk, it was like it never happened. 😊 Good thing as he wanted to do the longer version.
There were some clouds first thing but
by end of day, they had mostly passed by
Bill and
Duncan had gone flying and when they returned home around 10:30, Bill set to
work checking the air pressure in our Suite’s tires. Once that was done, he was
going to install the ‘Tire Minders’ that he bought at the Big Tent. It is a
worthwhile investment and recommended by many who we talk to. He got a great
deal. Around 11, I hopped in Black Beauty and took her to the QIA.

The
Quartzsite Improvement Association is like a large arena (minus the ice) where events
take place all week, all winter. You could play Bingo, sell your crafts &
wares, line dance, attend classes, dances, gold shows, tributes – you get the
picture. All free, all non-profit. I’ve debated about the line dance class, but
I’m not ‘sold’ yet. Today, the 1st Saturday of the month, it is for
the Craft Fair & Yard Sale.

Our
friend, Jess, messaged me yesterday that she has her paper quilling booth for
the last time this winter. I found a parking spot easily, even though the lot
is quite packed. People are coming and going all the time. I bought a pair of
cactus earrings from her and was happy to see a classmate show up as well.
Linda is quite the card so we all had a few chuckles, paid for our goodies and
parted ways. 😊

I
wandered around a few of the yard sale tables and found 3 things, all for $6.
Before I left the Suite this morning, I went through my hanging tops. I admit
to having way too many and some have given me that ‘iffy’ feeling lately so
they went into a give-away bag. There were 10 items that left a few bare
hangers so that was a decent purge – for me.
After leaving the QIA, I messaged Bill to eat if it he was hungry since it was 12 noon. I had one more stop to make at Carol’s Closet, a donation spot. I dropped the 3 bags, my old (although pretty new) bike seat and my Magic Bullet. I could have hung on to it for a yard sale but I’d rather someone that could use it, have it. I believe C.C. gives to the needy rather than sell items. That’s awesome. ♥

Back
home, Bill was at a place where he could stop and we had lunch together. He had
his snooze while Gibbs and I sat and started today’s blog. Happy February, by
the way! Our high today should reach 72F/22C and that is more like what we have
received in previous years. So, finally, is what we say to that! I walked over
to work on the puzzle for a couple of hours and when I returned, took Gibbs for
a walk.
Bill was at Duncan and Patty’s to figure out how to apply to vote in our home Provincial ‘snap’ election that was called. We can’t do it online but it seems we can request a form by mail to our present address. The hardest part was the research but once the boys figured that out, Bill and I were able to request our applications. When they arrive, we’ll fill them out and send them back. The election deadline date is Feb. 27th.
I made a cup of tea and relaxed with my book. First time in a long time that I have been able to walk Gibbs in the late afternoon without anything on my bare arms. Woohoo! This has been an awesome day, doing just what I want. We reached our forecasted high today and it was gorgeous with little to no wind.

Supper was air fried butterfly shrimp with fries for Bill and I had cauliflower. For dessert, we had a Tillamook chocolate/peanut butter ice cream cone. Our evening will be spent streaming programs that we’ve missed this week. Have a good evening!
