Heat to Start our Busy Week, Family Day, President's Day

Park Place RV Park

On Monday, Feb. 17th it sounded like Bill and Gibbs slept in until 6:30. With a quick peek at the time reflected on the ceiling, I rolled over when they got up. It was 7:05 when next I opened my eyes. I did the bed stretches and then Gibbs and I got up and made the bed. 😊

Good morning!

Clouds moved early

I’ve said before that I look forward to Mondays, to see the ladies at poker pool. Today was no different. It feels like I’ve had 4 days off, and I guess I have. Bill left us around 8 and went to the field. It was a calm morning of about 47F/8C. We have a full day outing planned for tomorrow so I was keeping an eye on how I was feeling from the time I woke up and throughout the day.

Not the most flattering of pictures but
I didn't warn the ladies before taking it.
Sorry Jess!

By the time my tea was finished, my discomfort had come and gone a few times but mostly I felt it after sitting for any length of time. I could deal with that, as long as I moved slowly after our 2-hour drive. Gibbs and I went for his walk around the park block and I felt good. 😊 I prepped my coffee and took my cup, pool cue and a Keurig pod over to the clubhouse at 9:15.

Definitely an easier puzzle

There were 6 of us today and we actually made it through 7 games! Everyone’s scores were 18 and lower so we didn’t do too badly since the lowest was 10. We all had fun and each of us made a few good shots. We had fun as usual. Jess informed me that she only had one more game before they pulled out of the park and that made me sad. I’m glad we’ve become friends and that they will be back here next year, as we will. God willing.

Relaxing as a family.
Including 'blankey'

Bill and I had lunch together and then while he and Gibbs dozed inside, I slipped into more summery attire and stretched out in my gravity chair in the sun. With Walter away, I claim his sunny spot in the morning. 😊 At 2, I walked to work on the puzzle and made a good dent, returning home around 3:30. Bill and Gibbs had been outside and he was pouring himself a rum and Zero Coke.

Gibbs and I went for some semblance
of a walk this afternoon

Since I received a bottle of whiskey from Rusty, I decided to try it with my Zero Gingerale. It wasn’t a strong drink and it tasted very nice! With it done, around 5, Gibbs and I went for his ‘stroll’. Can’t really call them walks anymore, since he changes his mind often about how far and which way. Love bug, makes me laugh each time.

The winds picked up later this afternoon
but they were welcome.

I did a dry rub on the pork ribs I had out for supper and after Bill connected us to power, let Madame IP so her stuff. 20 minutes, 25-minute release and then on the grill mat for about 8 minutes with sweet and sour sauce. Yum! They were half racks so we didn’t need much else. I cooked my squash and corn for Bill and that was quite filling.

The ribs were perfect, loaded
with meat.

We cleaned up the pots, started the dishwasher and sat to enjoy our NCIS episodes. This was a great day! We reached an awesome 79F/26C. I touched base with our neighbours, Dot and Gord, back home and she said they feel they are living in a snow globe with 40 cm of more snow expected overnight!

I'm glad Bill noticed the sunset afterglow

So, of course, I ran out to capture the gorgeous sky

Today is Family Day, a national statutory holiday celebrated in 5 provinces in Canada. It is also President's Day, a US Federal holiday celebrating Washington's birthday. It is a discussion around town here regarding what is open and what is closed.

Good night!

Thank you for popping by.

  1. Luckily, they have still picked up the garbage on it's regular day. No holiday for them. They used to get some of these days off, but then had to work Saturday to catch up. Guess that wasn't so great. lol

  2. It's rather sad when everyone begins to leave. Hopefully we will see Jess and Jessie again.

  3. You get a lot of nice sunrise and sunset shots. But that`s far too hot for you! It`s still not supposed to go above freezing for the next two weeks here!
