The Ridge
On Wednesday, July 16th I didn't have to go to clean anywhere so took my time getting up out of bed. It was 7:15 when Gibbs and I moved. He could have stayed there longer, I could tell when he snuggled closer each time I shifted position. 💖

Good morning!
I had my tea and yogourt and played my games. Bill cut Robin's grass at her house last night and it was so thick and wet from the last rain........days ago. He wasn't happy how he left it but it was almost 9 pm, so I drove over this morning to rake up some of the clumps.

I think it is fine now but he may do a quick run there tonight to see what he thinks. He did the lawn and all the weed trimming so it looks pretty good. He didn't want them to come home on Friday and have to cut right away, that's why he waited. It was only really long in shaded places.
I was there for 45 minutes and that was enough for me! I hopped in the shower right away and relaxed for the rest of the morning until after lunch. M was busy earlier working in his shop with a welder so we nipped into town for his errands at 2:15.

Daisies and Milkweed everywhere I look.
I don't like the mid day runs, they are rare, because I'm afraid to get into something (hmm, I wonder what?? 😂) and then forget OR have to stop! It worked out okay and we got done what was necessary - for now.
I did manage to get 2 loaves of my seeded bread, at $1 off each, so am a happy camper! Plus, I had 1,000 Scene points so got $10 off the total bill. It's a good day.
The heat today again was oppressive but I needed to water my plants. I primed the hand pump and filled 2 watering cans to give them a good drink. Because I am keeping the vegetables covered, they weren't wilting so that is a big help.
At 30C/87F, with humidex putting us at 39C/103F, I had a cold Zero Mountain Dew instead of a hot tea for my afternoon drink. Gibbs went out with me to water but spent the entire time under the Suite, in the coolest part. I don't blame him and he doesn't hesitate to come back indoors these days either. 😍

Yum, the ribs were wonderful!
I have been doing some juggling with our Ladyfest bookings and today was the day to finalize things. Our VRBO condo is booked but Cathy has taken a turn for the worse, nerve damage in her right leg from a new procedure during the hip surgery. That means she will not be joining us in September. 😔
She will be reimbursed and because I was booking a couple of events for us to take part in this fall, I was back and forth to straighten those out. It's all good and although we're all sad she can't make it, this is the best thing for Cathy in order to work towards healing.
Bill was home by 5 and while he dozed, I started Madame IP. I had already rubbed the pork ribs with seasoning and prepared the fingerling potatoes. We were eating before 6. My Swiss Chard was not so good, I either steamed it too much or it was just too old when I cut it. Bill had corn.

Is that sky saying rain? Or just another trickery. Pretty, regardless of its message.
We were taking Mike's trailer to a friend's (where we store Ptooties actually) for the weekend. There are quite a number that set up in Murray's yard and he asked Bill if Richard's Towing was still in business. 😄 Funny guy. I did dishes while Bill aired up his tires and hooked up.

Pulling Mike's trailer was different than the Suite. Gibbs didn't care, he just panted in the back seat. 😏
Gibbs and I went along for the ride and Gibbs ran around like a fool and got reacquainted with Daisy. This was a good day, earning a bit of cash by taking M into town and doing a fair bit of reading.

This is a really nice spot for the weekend gathering of friends. Murray is on his lawn mower as we leave.
Still no rain and it isn't looking too promising yet, at 7 pm. I hope you've enjoyed your hump day.
Cute!
Good night!
Thank you for the pop by.

awwww, the video at the end. friends!
ReplyDeleteI love your adventures and have so many questions about your travel and then where you live now! And I love the monies you make doing the things you do too! Too many for your blog though. I am/was thinking of getting a travel trailer or van or some sort, but first am petrified and second, just don't know ANYthing about the techicalities of it all. Can you point me in the firection to get started?
Hello Barbara. Thank you for your kind words. I don't now anything about you, where you live, single or married?, current domicile....that kind of stuff. If you wanted to private message me on my FB messenger, I (we) would try and help with some information. Your info should not be put on here anyway. :) Or email me at ptooties@gmail.com.

DeleteI am not on FB but I did just eamil you. Thanks!
DeleteSame hot weather here too. Sure makes it hard to go outside and do anything. Rats on Cathy's leg problem. I hope she improves soon. Yay for discounts on our bread!
ReplyDeleteIt's nasty but a cool down today, Thursday, yay! and rain.
DeleteThank you for your message re Cathy. She is getting quite discouraged so prayers are a family ritual for her. ♥
Wishing Cathy the best as she works toward her recovery. It has to be discouraging to have a setback like that.
ReplyDeleteIt's cool here and looks to be sticking around through next week as well. Hopefully it will reach your area soon.
Today, Thursday, muggy and hot start but by 10, it has rained and a lovely breathable cool down. Hope it settles out at a happy medium for us all!
DeleteI hope all goes well with Cathy, I will say a prayer all goes well. It has been fairly cool here (Maebeme and I live in the same province, different areas), and this weekend is supposed to be pretty rainy. I do hope that happens so the water barrel stays full and I don't have to haul the watering can around as much.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Always thinking of you guys down there, enjoying the heat! Hope you're enjoying the summer.
