The Ridge
For Thursday, Aug. 28th my plans had changed from what they were yesterday morning. Robin asked me to change cleaning today with Saturday, if possible. Of course! That meant I was still up at 6:30 to go clean the Mat and I left before Bill for a change.

Good morning!
It started out dull, rainy and cool.
No one was there and yet within 10 minutes, in walked my friend, Trudy. I haven't seen her for a couple of weeks, at least, so we had a lot to chat about while I worked. Catching up on our crafting, her sales at markets and her 8 month old boxer.
Trudy is a very petite lady so picturing her with her boxer, is mind-blowing. I gifted her with a bookmark of her choice (I've had them with me every time just in case she was there), and she was thrilled, choosing the one with the dog and kitty. 💓

Once it started brightening up, Gibbs was out rolling on the mat.
Because of our chatting, I was later leaving (only recording an hour for the job). Oh! Trudy gifted me (Gibbs) with a bag of her homemade treats to try.

When I got home, Gibbs tasted one.
When we walked out together it was around 8:45. I came straight home and it didn't seem long before I was driving around the corner to pick M up.
it that makes me laugh.
I offered to make it a 'free to him' trip but he'll have no part of taking advantage. Nice of him, but I was trying to be kind. It was 11 when we got home and because it poured a lot of the time, he was wet, I was wet and cold. I flipped the furnace back on to warm up the Suite.

A walk to get the mail
showed clearing in the sky
I read some of my next book by J.E. This one is a Plum story called Plum Spooky and not disappointing by any means. I'm only into the 4th chapter. Bill surprised us by driving up the lane just before 12 noon so we had lunch together.

My pictures are ahead of my words
because I didn't have many until later
in the evening.
This, obviously, was supper.
It was good!
It was a possibility that I would do some quilling but instead did some research on a product that Trudy told me about. The vendor is Grounding Well and I believe it to be something worthwhile for a number of reasons. That's how the next hour or so went until Gibbs and I walked for the mail.

Taking part in a Lion's decorating group
The thermometer reached a whopping high of 16C/62F by mid afternoon but the rain had pretty much stopped by 1 pm. I started my blog and since Bill was upstairs watching tv, I delved into my book again with a creamy cup of hot tea.
For supper, we had meatballs in Rosy, the a.f., Bill had fries and I finished my keto rice. We ate a bit early and at 6:45 drove into town to Lion Ed's place to help decorate a float for the Durham fall parade this weekend. There were 11 of us that showed up and Sheena and I stuffed the scarecrow with straw.

Now, isn't he a handsome dude?
Lazy, yes, but handsome!
Teri sewed him together.
She took him home to attach him to
a pole to stand up in the float.
Good luck!
Unfortunately, I'm cleaning and doing laundry before the parade and sometime in the middle of the parade, I'll be cleaning the bnb. I would have been happy to walk with the float to hand out candy. Oh well, maybe next year.

It came together pretty well with a few chuckles and lots of wise cracks!

Not bad for 45 minutes work!

The 'almost' finished float. Mr. Scarecrow will be added on Saturday morning.
We were home by 8:15 and were quite happy that we went. It was fun to work with the members that also participated. Bill and I have a day off tomorrow, no work for either of us. That will be nice, maybe the grass will get cut. It was a good day.

A pretty sunset on our drive home. Bill said it looks like the embers in our firepit. 😄 Good night!
Thank you for your visit.

Sounds like a nice day, having a chat with a friend and making a few dollars. :) Shame about the weather, but I suspect you'll be back in the heat next week. I'll be happy to get back to more seasonal temps. 30C here today and tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThe weather is still a topic of conversation, isn't it? Will it ever straighten out?
