An Easy Day, Gibbs gets Fitted

The Ridge

On Monday, Aug. 11th Bill didn't have the same rush to leave for work since he was meeting Billy in Hanover at the site. I was up at 6:30 to see him off at 7. I didn't have a rush at all today, nothing on my agenda.

Good morning!
Our dirty pond in the morning
light.

We had plans, if Bill was done early (which was a possibility today), to take Gibbs to Pet Smart and get him outfitted for a life jacket. We could have ordered one on line but size would be an issue. We have been invited to go away for a weekend and we'll be needing jackets.

Gibbs and I had a card to
put in the mail so walked
down before noon.

It was another scorching (for us) day and I had the a/c on pretty quickly after Bill left. May as well be comfortable. No grass cutting today for me, that's a 'for sure!' So, Gibbs and I did go out for a bit and he sat in the shade of the patio and I made more earrings and started on winter birthday cards. 😊

The flags aren't moving much.
We reached a high of 32C/90F.
Not a day to be out doing any physical stuff.

Bill was home by 11:15 and we were on our way to Owen Sound soon after. Pet Smart did not have his size, only X-Large and bigger so we went to Global Pet Foods and lucked out getting a well-fitted Medium life jacket. He looked pretty spiffy in the store and the girls fell in love with him. 💖

So, I made some earrings.

A quick stop at Princess Auto for Bill and Shopper's Drug Mart for more Aerius allergy pills for Gibbs. The vet wouldn't renew his script from last August without another 90$ visit so scrap that! These pills work okay if we double up the dosage. They are safe.

This fits perfectly and he
didn't mind wearing it in the store.
Of course, the girls were all over him.
🐕

Back home, we had a late lunch and my boys snoozed while I went out to the Bunky for an hour. I was glad when they woke up, I was very hot out there, not much breeze coming in the windows. Bill went out to cut the front field, and I came in and read more Reacher stories.

It's hard work being so cute

Supper was started at 5:15, baked chicken thighs, potatoes and mixed vegetables tonight. The thighs take a while but we were eating by 6:30. Everything tasted yummy, more like a Sunday night meal. I say that because our Sunday meals as a kid were always more special. 😍

Sunday supper on a Monday.
My tomatoes are so tasty!

After cleanup, I went out and closed the Bunky and shelter doors. Lila didn't want to sit outside all night, she doesn't like the dark anymore than I do. 🚲

It has been a good day, we accomplished what we wanted to and Gibbs has a new jacket in case he falls in the water!

Of course!
We don't have a doorbell but his sharp ears
know when cars are coming up the laneway
well in advance.
Good night!

Thank you for dropping by!

  2. That cartoon is hilarious! Looking forward to seeing Gibbs in his life jacket. I can imagine he made new friends at the store.
