The Ridge
On Thursday, July 31st I was up at 6:30 and leaving for town a few minutes before 7. It was empty and that always gives me a boost to get things done before the first arrival. The whole hour I was alone, with just light music from the radio. Nice!

Good morning! A hazy sky from western fires
I was back home by 8:30 and that was my work for the day. It was a cooler start to the day, as expected, but pleasant. Bill had his shower while I was gone so I hopped in as soon as I got back. He then went for water from the Acreage, since we were getting low.

We all had quite the fun remembering who and when our Ridge campers came over the years. This year, just one reservation for our regular transients. 💕 We love their visits.
General puttering ensued, Bill working on a couple more small jobs from his list and me just working on my crossword. I wasn't too ambitious and didn't need to be. Robin texted to see if I was available to work tomorrow so I said yes. Guests don't arrive until 3 or later.

Enjoying a chat with our guests under the umbrella before lunch
We chatted briefly with Ken and Kim and planned an 'after lunch' Bocce Ball game. It was a nice day for activity but by the time we finished a game, which included chasing balls that went down the berm, we were all quite hot and ready to quit. We're out of shape! 😉😂

Nothing like a game of Bocce Ball to
loosen up the limbs!
It was fun, our guests beat Bill and I by 2 points. We did our own thing for about an hour and met again for Happy Hour in my tent. The winds were cool enough that we didn't necessarily need shade so I sat partially in the sun and felt perfect.

Not too hot, not too cold It was ......just right.
At 5:30 (ish) we split up for supper and Bill started a fire before lighting the barbecue. Grilled sausages tonight and they were very filling! We'd invited Dot and Gord to join us and I messaged her around 7 that it was burning.

A Tiger swallowtail butterfly
with a damaged tail wing
joined us for a minute.
There were winds that caused us to situate our chairs appropriately, out of the direction of smoke, and they eventually died off. It was nice to be able to introduce our friends to our neighbours tonight and they hit it off, as we knew they would.

Sausage on a bun
was a quick and tasty supper
Bill kept the fire stoked and it kept us all warm. Dot and Gord left around 8:45 and the rest of us said goodnight around 9:15. I kicked myself for not getting a picture when D & G were here. Drat!
I was surprised when I came inside and saw it was 15C/59F. It was actually a beautiful evening in all ways and a great day. We did reach a pleasant 22C/72F this afternoon.
Thank you for stopping by.
