Last of the Hot Ones

The Ridge

On Tuesday, Aug. 12th I left the Suite before Bill so I could get the cleaning done early. It worked, no one was there so I was out within the hour leaving the place spic and span. 😉 Of course, Bill was long gone by the time I returned home.

Good morning!

I stopped at Robin's as I swung by to pick up some cash for Bill. She had sold a couple of his items for him. She wouldn't take a commission, saying I do so much for her. Sweet gal, we don't mind giving her something for her efforts.

Looking out the 'back door'

Today was to be the 'last' of the humid days around here for a while. What a relief that will be, if it is true. Do I sound disbelieving? 😏 They say there will be thunderstorms in the area and that will bring cooler air. Our fingers are crossed for that.

No, Mom's not coming out.

Gibbs and I went outside a couple of times but not for long and we both returned inside to the coolness of our home. After lunch, at which I had a soft taco with some groundbeef mix leftover from the other night. It was good and filled me.

Still going strong, the stately
Dahlias.

I keep looking at 'my' patch of grass and can almost see it browning up before my eyes. I will have to cut certain areas tomorrow or Thursday morning before company comes. There is a breeze today but it is a hot one so I left Gibbs inside and I went to the Bunky.

Looking for something to quill
this birdie fit the bill.
Not sure if he'll get put on the wood hanging
but the brown across the bottom needs to be redone.
Not happy with that.

Just more doodling with making things out of paper. I finished my Jack Reacher stories over lunch so will need to find a new book to start. I think a Janet Evanovich is in order. I did fill a bag with books to take to Robin, ones that I've read and Bill probably never will.

This tree behind the Suite is overloaded
and always drops apples early.
They aren't very big and never look good enough
to bother collecting them.
So many apples on this property.

Bill was home soon after I came inside at 3 and we decided on burgers for supper. Until then, time to start my blog and my book!😆 It is called The Pursuit and written with Lee Goldberg. Not one of the Stephanie Plum stories but still good from page one.

The before

The after
(before eating!)

Supper was yummy, Bill's burgers staying on the #1 list. There wasn't much cleanup, so Bill made his lunch and we settled in for the evening. I heard thunder earlier but it hasn't changed the look of anything outside. Praying for some rain though.

A nice day, 29C/85F, with a 5 degree drop tomorrow. Hope you enjoyed your day as well!

You may think Gibbs posed for this meme,
but it isn't him.
The caption is very true though.
Good night!

Thank you for stopping around. Comments are always welcome!

  2. Love the bird! You did a great job. Was that property an orchard at one time?

    1. Thank you, I had fun creating the bird too!
I'm not sure what the property was before the previous owners had it. But they planted quite a few apple trees, just not the best kinds.
