The Ridge
On Monday, Sept. 1st we were up by 6:30. Bill was in the shower when I started my stretches. Gibbs was rolling around on the bed trying to get my attention although he had already been out.
I left with my tea for the Mat, just around 7 and it was empty of customers. About 20 minutes in, the 2 local homeless people came in and sat for about 10 minutes. They always put me on alert, especially Renee, as you can tell she is strung out on something.

The drive to town.
Look at that sky!
I finished up within the hour and drive to fill the water bottle before returning home. Bill had already left for flying with the boys and I think it is a beautiful day for it. I'm glad he is enjoying his weekend. Yesterday, his friends had gone to another field but Bill opted to stay home and work. 💕

Last night, someone was in my chair, so I sat in Bill's. Would you disturb this little bum?
I wasn't done my laboring yet as I was cleaning for Robin again. She is desperately trying to get an apartment cleaned in Wingham. One of her houses (w/2 apartments) has sold. Sounds like another mess for her. 😪

He was in a deep sleep and rolled\ over in his slumber. No shame, no modesty.😂
My job was easy in comparison. After I got home she got a booking for tomorrow night and wondered if I could clean again. Darn! I've got a full morning with shopping and taking Gibbs to the groomers so I had to turn it down. I hope Jessica can do it for her.

Everything is green and lucious
along Baptist Church Road.
Bill wasn't home until 1:30 so I heated the leftover taco meat and wrapped in a soft tortilla. Yum. The remainder of the day was doing our hobbies. I'm planning ahead with some ideas for next year's fair. Practicing and making things to sell.

So, this year, one of the categories
to enter was a homemade greeting card
related to a milestone birthday.
So, I practiced.
May be different next year but
that's okay, I enjoyed a new technique.
I started supper; ribs, fried potatoes and sweet corn, so had to turn the power back on. It has been nice for a few days to use our solar. Madame IP does the ribs but I didn't brown them on the Weber tonight. I like them browned a bit but Bill isn't fussy.

I took more pictures on my drive than anywhere else.
Everything tasted great and he made his lunch for the inevitable work day tomorrow. This has been a good day. Working 3 days in a row for Robin helps bump my bank account and I like seeing how the guests leave things after I've cleaned. If that makes sense. 😏

The corn, ribs...well,
supper, was great!
Today, we reached a pleasant 25C/75F and who can complain about that? Not us! Just lovely. We're back to enjoying it while it lasts since come Thursday we drop down again to 13C/57F!!

I love this and it excuses me
for all my sillyness-es. 😍
Good night!
Thank you for stopping by on this long weekend. Happy Labour Day and Happy September!

Pretty card! I think you would do well at craft fairs.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you so much!
DeleteHappy Labor Day ... not with a U. Don't you just love that corn? Your card is really cute!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, thank you Nancy. I do love sweet corn!
DeleteJess would be so proud; your card is fantastic! It sounds as though you took ‘labour’ day to an extreme. Patti
ReplyDeleteJess is proud :) Just hitting it outta the park lately.
DeletePatti, thank you so much. Is there such a thing as taking labour day to the extreme? haha
DeleteJess, thank you so much!
DeleteLove the card you made, you are talented! I have none LOL. I especially like the last cutie on the card! Everything said, is absolutely true! :) Dinner looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shirley! I agree about the last message. Live our best each day, no regrets.
DeleteSo nice to see some shade across your country roads! (Must be the BIG trees!!)
ReplyDeleteCute card ~ and the $$ would be a bonus! :)
It's amazing what those big trees do on a hot day. Sometimes you feel like it has dropped 10 degrees when you drive through. :)
DeleteThank you, I think quilling has taken over rock painting by a long shot!!
The card is very cute!
ReplyDeleteGlad the weather was a little better. We've reached our cool down and it is downright chilly this morning.
Thank you Maebeme.
ReplyDeleteToday is our last day and I know you will be passing along what you have. Was hoping September would be warm so we don't long for the south too soon!
