Winding Down? Seems Like a Busy Week

The Ridge

It was 6:15 when I got up on Thursday, Sept. 25th. Bill was downstairs and I had actually woken up when he got up to hop in the shower shortly after 5. I was happy to feel no pain, seems like one day with, one without. Better than every day!

Good morning.
The drive to town before 7
and
The drive home at 8:30.
Cloudy day.

It looked to be a dry but cloudy day in the forecast but Bill was ready and off to work around 6:45. I was maybe 5 minutes behind him on my way to clean the Mat. It was still locked so I let myself in and got to work. I was happy when Trudy bustled in, that lady doesn't mosy! 😊

I was able to fill her in on the market table situation so she is hoping someone cancels so I get in. She showed me 3 of her new creations and I am just so in love with them all.

She is a master at crochet (although she won't admit it) as it is all without a pattern, just teaching herself as she goes. 💕 Of course, I shared a few of my latest in photos, which she was very enthusiastic about too.

My lunch today was leftover
shepherd's pie and fries.

My plan was to head to Walmart when I finished but left the grocery list at home. Rats! Oh well, I was in my grubby jeans and tee anyway, and I like to spruce up a bit when I go shopping. Bill called that he had another 'no work' day, too bad he drove all the way to Mike's to just turn around and come home. Missed communication.

My Buddy gave me a lovely homemade
card from a craft sale with 2 scratch tickets.
I got lucky! $8 cha-ching!
I should let her pick all of my tickets.
Thanks Pat!💖

He was okay though to come home and start cutting more brush down the lane. He was raring to go by the time I changed and headed out to Hanover. I took my time and popped into a different Dollarama across town. I seem to find different things of interest at each one and came home with more 'accents' to the hobby.

After lunch, we got to work.
It got the big garden cleaned up
for the winter and added to
the brush pile.

Bill and I met on Baptist Church Road, him going to the dump and me going home. He was back by lunchtime so we ate together. I finished the leftover shepherd's pie and fries, the fridge is full again now after a new shopping spree. All under $200 so I was quite pleased.

Bill went down the lane for
more cutting and a second load.
He was getting tired so when I
finished, I did a wee bit to help.

I changed back into the grubbies and while he went down to cut and load again, I crawled around the big garden and cleaned up the hostas, lilies and iris leaves. One big hosta is left, just because the leaves are so big and still pretty to me. Bit by bit, the other gardens will get done, I don't want to overdo it and be sore later.

You know where the boss was....
I have some wood pieces that I want
to burn and today was a good day.
We got it going and then helped Bill.

Bill took a second load to the Durham dump while I went up and got washed and dressed for our dinner out with my siblings. A birthday supper for Gayle, bil Bill, my Bill and myself. Tonight, Noah's Inn in the small berb of Neustadt.

I ordered a shrimp quesadilla for
the first time. It was very good!

My sweeties had their snooze after Bill showered again and we left Gibbs in charge around 5:20. Last night, we watched the first episode of Survivor and already they kicked the wrong person off, in our opinion. Going to be a great season! Ha ha.

There were 3 choices for dessert,
certainly adequate, and they were all
made by the local bakery.
Yummy!
Bill had the carrot cake which looked
awesome too.

It was a great meal, I had quesadilla, Caesar salad and coconut cream pie. Filling but I wasn't overly stuffed. We all had a drink so it was not an inexpensive night out. Hey! It's our birthdays!

Gayle took individual pictures
of each of us.
Woops! She forgot to send ours.

The owner/manager/waitress took the
group picture but it is poor quality.
I think she should stick to management!
Ha ha but it is still a memory.

We were home shortly after dropping Donna and Gerry off and it was 8:15. Gibbs was happy to see us and brought us his ball. We only reached 18C/66F again today but it felt warm especially when working outside. It was a nice day.

She sent it this morning.
There we are!
Good night!
(check in tomorrow for some news)

Thank you for stopping by.

    1. Yup, even though he sleeps on the job!! It is worth it in more ways than one as long as we don't hurt ourselves!

    1. Thank you Maebeme. A couple of get togethers in the summer is nice so we bunch the birthdays together.
Yes, we are warming up until Thursday too, I think. Nice days for outside work. Bit by bit.

  3. Love the photo of all of you. When we were having our farewell supper one of the ladies at the table wanted a picture of all of us. I moved one way and the gentleman beside me moved the same way, I moved the other way and so did he. So the table picture just includes my arm. LOL.

    God bless.
