Wintergreen Retreat
On Wednesday, Sept. 10th I woke up early again but had no clue what time because I refused to look. I rolled over and went back to sleep until almost 7 o'clock. I felt great, rested and ready to go for another day.

Good morning!
Downstairs, Audrey was doing her blocking exercises, so I went about making my hot drink and finishing my blog. Donna and Gayle weren't far behind me, getting up and we just hung around with our morning routines.

The Scrabble game continued, in turns, and after showers and saunas, we left the condo. It was around 10:45 when we drove back into Collingwood and parked on Hurontario Street (main street) to look for a restaurant. MEK (Morning Egg Koffee) was another great choice.

I had the Peameal Bennie Yummy.
It was a great meal! From there, we walked the strip searching for a thrift store. We found a great little store called Heart's Desire with 'everything' farm related and we loved it and the 3 female staff were terrific.

They were located on the corner and down the side row so perfect for their set up.
In case you aren't regulars of these stores, a consignment store is not the same thing. At least in Collingwood, they are 'curated consignments' and that means only the best clothing items are brought in. That means big $$, way out of our price league.

Just loved this old building and I'm not even sure what it is.
After walking for a couple of hours, we found no other viable second hand shops but did manage to find a couple of places that were fun, interesting and we walked away with a few nice things. Our next 'adventure' was to go bowling.

So, let's bowl!
We arrived at Georgian Bowl on Hurontario St. just on time for our appointment. From 2:30 to 4 pm, we played 2 1/2 games and I, for one, really enjoyed it. The girls couldn't figure out the electronic scoring but I was very thankful for it and continued to explain it. 😄

A sunset sipper at the bowling alley just because it was refreshing and I was thirsty!
We did a bit more driving around looking for places to shop but ended up returning to our condo. It was too soon to find a restaurant anyway. Back home, we decided to split up the leftovers from our meals out and what we brought from home.

And there you have it. Gayle was the victor.
We sat on the patio in the sun for a bit with a glass of wine and around 6:30 we reheated our meal. It was just the right amount for our supper meal. We debated on playing a game and while a discussion went on, I worked on my blog.
This was a quieter day for us, with a few new to us articles of clothing. We reached a high of 24C/76F and it was another perfect day.

Thank you for your visit!

I love bowling! Your photos are lovely! The food looks very good as well. Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada. (I am 68 no and no longer bowl but I love to watch!)
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda for your comment. I LOVE bowling too but haven't done it for years. It was a hoot. My sister, Audrey, is from Terrasse-Vaudreille, Montreal.
DeleteI used to bowl in a league many years ago and would have loved electric score keeping back then.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I bowled as a teen with friends but wish now that Durham had a league. I think I would join! Yes, the electronic score keeping is wonderful!
DeleteYeah, that electronic scoring makes no sense. I like the old fashioned black pen!!
ReplyDeleteCome on, Nancy! Like I tell my sisters.......you are smart women, it's easy....but they gave up trying to understand. Hahaha
DeleteLocation......Australia ? That can't be right. 50 yrs ago we used a black pen to keep score!
ReplyDeleteGREAT 1st picture this morning! :)))
Oh, that's funny! Austrailia would be fun so I guess there is a Blue Mountains there too. Sorry Payson48!
DeleteThank you, I love that picture too!
