Park Place RV Park
On Saturday, Feb. 14th I didn't hear Bill get up but heard him soon after taking Gibbs out for his early walk. Then I remembered. Oh yes, he was leaving by 6:30 for the field. He is the main man today, MC for the Quartzsite Desert Flyers Fun Fly......and the president so wants things to be ready.

Good morning!
Happy Valentine's Day
A sweet treat to share over
the coming days.
I rolled over and went back to sleep when he left until 7. I'd left Bill's card on the table last night since he was in bed before me and when I came down, he had left mine as well. We don't go crazy; cards say it quite enough for us. We did choose a box of chocolates at Sam's for sharing though.
The park had its monthly yard sale today as well so I put Lila out with all her accessories and the bike rack too. My expectations were not high at all so I wasn't disappointed.

Lila was putting on her best face too! Marketplace is next.
I figured no one would want her but even though some slowed down, none even considered stopping to make an offer. That's what sales are all about!

Deb had these nice clear hard plastic
bins and as I thought about it, I knew
they would work perfectly in my
bedroom cupboard.
Look how much neater things are
in the bottom picture.
Anyway, after chatting with Tom and Deb for a bit and picking up some of Deb's clear plastic bins, I put Lila away. I love what I came up with for the bins, my bedroom cubby is so much nicer now and will be better for travelling. Thanks Deb!

First time this year I've walked
this far and here is one of my
favourite things to see.
As I neared the field and
the entrance, spectators were lined
up along the road.
I took Gibbs for a walk around 10 and after dropping him off, walked to the flying field. It doesn't take long and I'm just so happy that I am able to walk that far again. The event was in full swing and I could hear Bill's voice as I approached.

I can't name them so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
There were many spectators and lots of pilots, 19, I think Bill said. From the time I arrived (& before) there was one, two or more planes, jets and helicopters in the air. I am partial to the really big planes with gas engines and yet enjoy watching the talented pilots fly everything else too.

Each year, they offer a free fly lesson
to anyone interested in trying the sport.
There were only 2 today, but Wayne
stands by as they each take a turn.
With Ken's Scout, they both did great!

Joel from our park brought Eve to watch the show and spend the day. She was such a good girl, turning her head to the sound of the jet as it zipped by. Look at those eyes!

There is no disputing this food.
It was delicious!
Bill had a Chicago Dog, loaded ground beef dog on a bun with fries on the side. My order was 3 taquitas which I've not had before but deep fried and stuffed with beef, they were delicious too. More flying ensued until around 1:30 when things slowed down.

Looking east, then west down the
flight line.
A few more performers.
The helicopters were crazy to watch as
they flipped constantly so close to the
tarmac.
It was around 2:30 when we got home. A long day for Bill and long enough for me and Gibbs too. I enjoyed the entertainment, friends and even the heat. Bill sat outside with Gibbs while he charged his planes for tomorrow.

I took a walk to stretch my legs around 1 and there were still a number of viewers in the spectator seating area.
I wrote my blog post and just 'chilled' until we, as a family, decided to have a snooze. It was an easy decision since Bill was zonked, I was almost zonked from being in the sun and Gibbs....well, he can snooze anytime even after a full day of sleeping!

Ken packs up his Scout. It has had a couple of crashes but has been glued back together and flies again! I believe it is his first plane.
When we got up, it was 4:30 and I took him for a walk. My leg began going to sleep on the walk so I was limping a bit coming home. Maybe I overdid it by going so far this morning. No worries, it has eased after I did my stretches. Still smiling here!

Gibbs and I walked around the park before supper.
I worked on one of the quilling things I started yesterday and Bill finished with his chargers. Supper was an easy choice after a big lunch and the grilled cheese sandwiches and small ice cream cone hit the mark. We were done by 6 and ready for the evening.

Supper was simple, easy and yummy. Who doesn't love melted cheese?
A beautiful 78F/22C day and a mild overnight on the way. I hope you all enjoyed Valentine's Day and didn't go broke on celebrating! 😂 We had a great day together.
Thank you for your visit. A couple of videos for your viewing pleasure! Enjoy! Good night!
